Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 1, 2023March 10, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 INTERVENTION has caught the eye in both runs back this preparation. She’s a lightly raced filly with some upside whereas many of these have been battling away in the staying maidens unable to break through. Quite often the alternate form is the good form for these races and hopefully from the inside gate she can settle a bit closer. ZANZIBAR parked three deep throughout last start and was entitled to fade back through the field. Thought all things considered he did a pretty good job to whack away into fourth and it is worth remembering in that event he was $5.50 into $3.20 and Ocean Avenue was $1.60 out to $3.10. OCEAN AVENUE is getting closer and closer. He’ll pinch one of these staying maidens in the near future. VALOREM next best. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – INTERVENTION WIN RACE 2 This race belongs on a Saturday. MALKAR PINDARI has probably established herself as the best maiden in the State, ACHICI VUOLEMALE was allowed to stride at trials and won by over 8L breaking a minute, EXPOROSE was only run down late in her trial by Rupert’s Empire who won well on Sunday at Pinjarra, STORMY TAWNY is a full sister to Misty Metal and Metallon and has trialled up well, VALDARENA and ELITE FASHIONS trialled like fillies who would be running races on debut. MALKAR PINDARI gets the nod given her two excellent runs this preparation. ACHICI VUOLEMALE has some X-Factor. EXPOROSE will look for the outside fence and is quick. STORMY TAWNY drawing the wrong side hurts. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – MALKAR PINDARI WIN RACE 3 SHAKERATO is the full brother to Marocchino and in his most recent 1100m trial he was winding up impressively late in the race. He was scratched from a winnable maiden on Sunday to save for this and from the draw provided he gets some galloping room in the home straight can make his presence felt on debut. THEHORSEMAN trialled without blinkers and went well enough. His 2-year-old form more than measures up here. BOY BLUE is still a work in progress but he showed plenty in his initial preparation and has trialled nicely. PROPORTRAIT worked too hard on debut. Was a nice trial leading into his first outing. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SHAKERATO WIN RACE 4 LAND OF FIRE deserves to break through and win one. Finished second to Belle Journee, third to Hot Chatter and then was a half head away from the deadheat between Vast Art and Cocoon Bay. Those two gallopers do battle again on Wednesday in a 3 year old 0MWLY and if either of them go close then it will look like good maiden form for Land Of Fire. FIELD OF BATTLE has been a frustrating follow. He’s clearly got a mountain of ability but he is so hit and miss out of the barriers. If he steps this is very winnable for him. LE GRAND JEU was a big replay watch first-up when settling at the rear and charging to the line. YONGA LASS has shown ability at trials. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 12 Suggested Bet – LAND OF FIRE WIN RACE 5 ROCKIN’ THE SILKS ran a fast finishing second to She’s A Machine at his second career start. That form is very much on display on Wednesday at Ascot with She’s A Machine, Here For Cheques and Invincible Charm going round as well as Punters Pilot going round in Race 3 on Thursday. Drawn to get every chance along the inside. HAYDROSS was a big run last start. Got back, found bad traffic before straightening and picked himself up to somehow finish fourth. Has come back well. TENACIOUS REWARD beat him home comfortably in that event however he had ever mortal hope. I LOVE YOUR SMILE hasn’t quite lived up to her early 2 year old promise just yet. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 13 Suggested Bet – ROCKIN’ THE SILKS WIN RACE 6 ALLMAMONEY won a C3 1400m at Pinjarra at her return to racing off an absence of 560 days dating all the way back to June of 2021. Since that win she has contested three consecutive 66+ ratings races and now finds her way back into a C5. Likely to settle rearwards so the conditions will need to be allowing them to make ground. She’s a monitor the pattern and make your call kind of investment. Rather take a shorter price later knowing they can actually get home from off the speed. ROCK MY WAY is a similar type. She’ll concede them a head start and be rattling home. LAQUETTA’S GIFT gets out in trip. She’s a versatile filly who could roll forward if forced to. WEE RIPPER is going well. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – ALLMAMONEY WIN RACE 7 MOCHA DREAM hasn’t been seen at the races for over a month since putting on a galloping exhibition at Geraldton. He trialled particularly well leading into his return to racing, running straight past stablemate and debut winner Rockaria at Lark Hill. He looks to be above average and is drawn to park and ride the speed. POMPEY has a lot to learn. Very green, very wayward but clearly laden with ability. Once the penny drops, he might just be a handy horse. For now, he’ll be doing things wrong and doing it all on natural talent. JUSTAMIDDY tries hard. He maps to get the run he needs. MONEY FOR OLD ROPE trialled well over 950. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – MOCHA DREAM WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,5,7,12 1,3,8 1,2,3,6 1,3,4 Market Market
