Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 10, 2023January 10, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SHABALALA, DENTED ROMANCE, ZANZIBAR, MAKIN’ PROPHETS and WHAT SHOUT all come through the same race behind Magic Whistle. That’s the form race and SHABALALA was tramping deep from a fair way out and kept coming to the line. Has another wide gate to contend with but Troy Turner is a very good staying rider and he’ll run out the 2200 no worries. MAKIN’ PROPHETS has a senior rider aboard and can kick through to hold the top and control the speed. DENTED ROMANCE is knocking on the door and going very close to giving Mollie Clark her first winner as a trainer. ZANZIBAR is an out and out stayer. Joins Mitch Pateman’s team and will keep whacking away. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SHABALALA WIN RACE 2 HE’S ARCHIE finished second to Fries With That last start after coming through the hot Crystal’s Dream race (Fries With That, Zooropa, Musqueam). This looks another very winnable race for him and he can park leader’s back from the inside gate with a clean getaway. CELEBRITY ICON likely goes round favourite off the back of a strong second behind Planet Cash, beating home Spirit Man. Looked a different horse with the ear muffs on. HERE NO CASH trialled and raced like he was looking for further and gets an extra furlong second-up. KING HALLOWELL didn’t give it away from the breeze last start and winkers are on. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – HE’S ARCHIE WIN RACE 3 DESERT PETARD didn’t go on debut but willing to forgive because it was a bottomless Heavy8 surface. Looked far more at home in a recent barrier trial win over 950m on top of the ground and the Adam Durrant/CJP combination is going to be popular in this blog over the next few weeks as they look to go on a bit of a run. FLEUR DELACOUR resumed over 1200m when finishing third behind Pennies Galore and Silver Flyer. The Chris Willis yard is on fire at the minute and she should enjoy a lovely run from the draw. Looks a big winning chance. SELBY PARK gave cheek out in front last start and can find the top again here. ARABIAN DREAM has been trialling up well enough for his debut. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – DESERT PETARD WIN RACE 4 BELLE JOURNEE was $26 into $9 when finishing second to Call Me Violet (subsequent 3 year old 0MWLY winner) two starts ago and then was again hammered in betting last start from $5.50 into $3.20 in the last 30 minutes before jump. Travelled the winner throughout and simply never got a crack at them at any stage in the home straight. She’ll be very popular with the replay watchers. GARDEN QUARTZ went around in a C1 last start behind impressive winner Miss Field. Ran home particularly well and now drops back into a maiden. SPAGHETTI was well thought of on debut on a Soft7 and never got into the race. ORCHILLA continues to run her honest races. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – BELLE JOURNEE WIN RACE 5 SHEER MAGNUM and ROCK N TALES both come through the same race behind Zooropa. That race was over 1650 at Belmont Park and was run 4.5L faster than maiden average. Expecting that the market will heavily gravitate towards the pair. ROCK ‘N’ TALES was held tight in a pocket for the early parts of the home straight and held her own once out late in the race. With the barrier draw going to side up with her to turn the tables on Sheer Magnum. SHEER MAGNUM likely has to burn across and look for the top. Should she get across she’s the one to beat. OCEAN AVENUE is racing consistently but is no world beater. LO LO LONHRO brings intrigue at his WA debut. Numbers: 15 – 8 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROCK ‘N’ TALES WIN RACE 6 COMEALILBITCLOSER is a professional bridesmaid but it’s hard to argue with his last start effort. Was annihilated in betting but was forced to tramp three deep without cover and still loomed the winner on straightening. The first 1000m of that race was run 10.5L faster than average and he was out wide and working. Left a sitting duck late and was duly gobbled up by Miss Intention. Gets one more chance. TALLANGATTA was the target of very astute money last start when scoring. $26 into $8 and never looked like losing in the run. Repeat of that and he’s hard to beat. PASARAN is back to somewhere near his best. SEE YA CHAMP has a sharp L400 on her day. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – COMEALILBITCLOSER WIN RACE 7 MISS FIELD was a huge return to racing. Having her first start for Danny Morton she lumped 60kg, parked three deep the trip without cover and simply monstered them at the top of the straight to come away and score an impressive victory. She’s a versatile mare who can race on pace and off pace. Barrier 9 of 9 means there’s every chance she’s deep again but the way she won last start suggested she’d be putting a few together this campaign. APACHE BLUE worked overtime at his WA debut and can get things softer out to 1200m. MAGNALEE has had a good preparation. Drawn soft and gains the services of an in form CJP. CHERRY CAN RUN improves off her first-up effort down the straight. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – MISS FIELD WIN RACE 8 BOPPING BLUE was one of the fastest and sharpest 950m trials at Lark Hill in recent seasons. Has his first start for Annie King and while he carries 60.5kg and is drawn on the ‘wrong’ side of the straight he still looks hard to beat. First-up last campaign for Adam Durrant he was a C5 1000m winner down the straight at Pinjarra in sizzling time off 145 days. This preparation he’s first-up off 168 days in another C5 1000 down the straight. MATERIAL WITNESS is a straight track horse. Quirky but going well enough. DEBIT CREDIT was luckless behind The Lady Is A Vamp and was bursting through late last start. CAN’TCATCHTHIS is a jump and run horse drawn the outside fence. Tick. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – BOPPING BLUE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 8,15 4,5,8 1 1,2,4,5,9 Market Market
