Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 18, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CHEVAL DE VEGA looked speedy in a recent 400m jump out and then stepped out over 1000m when belting them by almost 4 lengths running away. Drawn to get towards the outside fence first. Hard to beat on debut. NEMIROFF has run some big races in a short career including leading them for home when run down late by the classy filly Angelic Ruler. VENA SCHNITZEL had six starts as a 2 year old and most were above average. Can figure. GLOBAL RULER looks like he has enough ability to win a maiden pretty soon. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – CHEVAL DE VEGA Race 2 SENTIMENTAL FRIEND was back behind a fairly pedestrian tempo last start and now stepping out to a trip where he ran 2nd in a Melvista Stakes and 5th in a WATC Derby. BERGIO was handed one of the better rides you will see at Narrogin all season last start by Glenn Smith. He may have finally got back into some form and his best is easily good enough to go back to back. WATCH ME NEY NEY steps out in trip and looks like he’ll stay. BLACK ATTACK has had a great preparation but this is tough. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL FRIEND WIN Race 3 CONTENTIONAL has blinkers added to race gear third up from a spell and was a good run last start when weaving a passage through them while the winner was winding up down the middle. MODERN NEWS has now had 11 cracks at it but has always promised to win a maiden and at one stage looked a nice stayer in the making. HIGHEST REGARD steps up in trip and should lead or box seat from gate 1. FLIRTY FRIARS looks like one who will keep coming. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – CONTENTIONAL WIN Race 4 MY DEMI is incredibly well placed by a stable in white hot form who also have an impeccable record down the 1000m straight. Three year old form around Masquerade and Fabergino and then beaten under a length first-up in a Saturday Graduation. Gets his chance here. CITICHANT has the speed to come out running from an awkward gate and has won down the straight before. GLASGOW GIRL heads towards the outside fence. Jump and run. STORMY ORA next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – MY DEMI WIN Race 5 DEIMOS obviously has a fair bit to learn. Very green on debut when wobbling badly round the corner. That Gillespie form is definitely the strongest in the race and with race experience can go close if he straights up. BOMBARDMENT was ridden back off the speed last start and charged late. Interesting to see where he lands here. SON OF THE SUN was a big improver when the shades came off second-up. BLACKHILL EXPRESS is likely to do it tough from the gate. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – DEIMOS WIN Race 6 THE SQUIRT certainly has an interesting galloping action but it seems to be effective. He came down the middle of the straight first-up and should get every chance sitting midfield from the gate. BEAUTIFUL MIND was well thought of at both starts last campaign after impressive trials. Fresh here looks the big danger. SHEERNESS could find the front and from there take some catching. ROSE THEIF has trialed well a few times for her debut run. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – THE SQUIRT WIN Race 7 BARDSEY will likely open up in double figures and with regular rider Lucy Warwick going back on and drawn a soft gate to sit in the box seat could definitely be a blowout chance. Form is reasonable against better opposition. QUINTARO looked like he had almost stolen it on the corner last start. Leads and takes catching. ATOMOIZE and BRAODWAY GIRL both won maidens well last start and can go on with it again. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – BARDSEY EACHWAY Race 8 WILD FRONT first-up last preparation ran midfield down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra and then bolted in second-up when leading over 1200m. Could be in a similar position here. Looks the obvious leader and Jason Brown could run them. FAIRTRUSIVE was huge in defeat last start when tramping deep throughout. She is the one to beat clearly. BURGOYNE showed plenty of ability in her debut preparation and knocked off Kakadu. Just drawn tough. REACTION won well at Mt Barker but this is tougher. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 -2 Suggested Bet – WILD FRONT EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5– 8) 1,6 1,6,8 1,3,4,5,8 1,5 Market Market
