Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 21, 2021December 21, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DASH OF BRANDY has been hitting the line really well this campaign and in the small field looks to get her opportunity to break through. Finished second behind Bell Lap last start in a high rating maiden and in that race she settled 12th of 12 and a mile off the leader and eventual winner Bell Lap. Smaller field, less ground to cover and with the likely favourite drawn awkwardly think she gets her chance. MOJO RHYTHM was strong on debut and steps straight up to a mile. William Pike’s first ride back from suspension likely to be a favourite #iconic. Clear danger. DEVIL GIRL isn’t going horrendous and this isn’t deep. MANHATTAN DEMON seems to travel and then doesn’t know what comes next. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – DASH OF BRANDY WIN RACE 2 RELIABLE CHOICE should see William Pike going very close to returning to the winner’s circle (if not in Race 1). On debut she didn’t get much luck and still finished second to progressive filly Playz With Fire and that looks as strong a form reference as there is in this race. Looks like the extra 100m will suit, race experience will see her only improving and from the draw she should get the ideal run. Very hard to beat. MADAME WU was drawn wide first-up and never really got into the race. Showed ability in her previous campaign. Expect sharp improvement. HART TRADER has put in some handy runs this time in and the inside gate is a bonus. SALLY CAN WAIT gets 2kg weight relief. Just peaked on the run fresh. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – RELIABLE CHOICE WIN RACE 3 FINE ROMANCE was beaten twice last campaign ($1.27 & $1.55 in a C1). Drops back into a maiden, drops 1.5kg and her recent trial was sound. She’ll again have an enormous following. Has burnt a lot of wallets so far in a short career but still looks above average. Punters who were launching the shorts last campaign are obviously still watching the debut Searchin’ Roc’s replay. No excuses from the gate. QUEENS GIFT comes from a far stronger races having contested the Belgravia, a 3 year old Grad and a 3 year old SWP so far this campaign. Back to maiden is far more suitable. PADDY’S ART looked a promising type in his first couple of outings. Stack of gear changes for his return. OUR NORMAN gave real cheek first start for Chris Willis. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – FINE ROMANCE WIN RACE 4 MIDNIGHT MYSTERY comes back into a maiden and expect that it will be rewarded with a victory. Finished second first-up behind Lets Galahvant when attacking the line powerfully and then finished second to English Heritage in a C1 and to Jay Dee in a C1. Comes back into a maiden and drops 3kg (yes 3kg) coming back in grade. Provided they’re making ground down the middle she looks the winner. NOBLE SCOT put up the white flag quickly last week. In review the fence was the worst spot to be for the entire meeting. Willing to forgive and forget. PETITE LA FEMME won’t get many better chances than this to finally pinch one. VITAL TIMES returned to racing well. There’s definitely a maiden in her. Numbers: 11 – 1 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT MYSTERY WIN RACE 5 RAKIURA is trained locally and unsurprisingly Brett Pope’s horses all seem to race well down the 1000m straight. Has always looked to have ability at trials and has run into some nice types at the trials in the previous September campaign. Recent trial was strong when leading throughout and we’ll see the trial form earlier in the day through Fine Romance. Should get toward the outside fence and go well on debut. BELLE POWER has been down the straight before and that’s a huge bonus for most horses. Hard to ignore the recent trial when really allowed to roll. DADIRRA has promised to win one all campaign. Some of the efforts outside of maiden grade have been excellent. AL TINA looks a different animal this preparation. Most recent trial was strong. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – RAKIURA WIN RACE 6 SOVIET SPY gets out to a staying trip and the way he has raced throughout his career suggests that like his full brother Come Play With Me he will need every inch of the distance. Adam Durrant doesn’t just got to the services of W.Pike, but also to a set of blinkers on a Blackfriars. Hasn’t got warm yet, but also hasn’t been out to a staying trip yet. GREAT FORTUNE has Clint Johnston-Porter aboard. Would be interesting to know whether CJP elected to ride Great Fortune or whether Adam Durrant went for Pike? Was well supported last start and didn’t get into the race. LADY OF BABYLON is tracking along well and backs up. BUCKEYE BULLET has been going alright recently. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – SOVIET SPY WIN RACE 7 WUHAN WARRIOR ran third in a 3 year old 0MWLY first-up behind Rockin’ Rupert and Story Book. Then he lead them up in a Saturday 3 year old race when finishing within half a length of He’s A Sizzler, Thomas Magnum and Rockin’ Rupert. Takes on the older horses and looks a live chance in by far the best and deepest race of the program. YUNA MAILMAN was wrong place, wrong time last Wednesday at Belmont. Was suiting those off the speed and he was rolling throughout. The sectionals he has run at his last two suggest he’ll be winning again very soon. BLAZING AWAY resumed without a trial for an apprentice rider. Second-up Paul Harvey returns to the saddle and he was the one who got the best out of him last campaign. No surprise to see him come on quickly. PRIZE PURSUIT has looked good in both trials. Ready to go fresh. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – WUHAN WARRIOR WIN RACE 8 AMBERGATE ROSE has been in form the entire campaign, consistently hitting the line. Finally found a suitable race last start and got the job done over a subsequent winner in Bourbon Beau. Should be finishing off in the exact same manner as she has her last few and this again looks winnable for her. SHES A SWEET DEEL is a lightly raced mare who has a turn of acceleration. Hard to ignore the way she won at her last start in winter. Looked in all sorts before picking herself up and getting the job done. GOLD MERITS was a big run last start. Keep safe with the senior going on. PRIZED MISS hasn’t been seen for a long while. Was well thought of in all runs to date. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – AMBERGATE ROSE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 4,5,8,10 3,4,5 1,3,5,6,7 2,3,4,5,7,9 Market Market
