Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 24, 2019July 25, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 TOVARICH and THE FINEST come from the same race and with the barrier draw reversal and weight swing going with TOVARICH. Trialed well for new stable before a reasonable first-up run and then a good effort down the straight. McNaught takes 2kg off and should nearly lead against the outside fence. THE FINEST is drawn on the ‘wrong’ side but recent races have shown that the middle isn’t that bad. FAIR SASSY trialed excellently but the one run down the straight left a bit to be desired. ZIERA next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – TOVARICH WIN Race 2 HIGHEST REGARD hit the front a long way from home in a fast run staying maiden and was left a sitting duck. Run down by a smart one and brave effort to hold on for second. Should lead this field and run away from them. WORTH SQUARE has a sharp turn of foot for about 150m. If he can get a suck run off the back of the leader he can zap him. BLITZ GLORY looks like he will stay all day. BLOOM AWAY finally showed something last start after several disappointing efforts from the well related staying filly. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – HIGHEST REGARD WIN Race 3 TRAMONTANE will be all the rage and is an intriguing runner. Was $18 into $4.40 on debut after a very impressive quiet trial. Didn’t get warm on that occasion and tipped straight out. Newman let him off the leash at Lark Hill and he charged away to win by 10. Likely opens ~$1.45 and looks a nice animal in a weak race. MISS MANDY has put together two good runs this prep, logical second pick. CRICKET INDA HOUSE is going really well but draws poorly. WILD STAR was a reasonable effort Lark Hill. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – TRAMONTANE WIN Race 4 WAR SECRETS had the blinkers added last start and immediately removed. Never on the track last start and first-up finished in and around some nice types. This is almost the deepest race of the day and expect it to prove a strong form reference. INDIAN CHANT has some nice form lines from last preparation and seemed to respond well to Newman’s aggressive riding style. SKY FIVE went well on debut and then never got a crack at them down the straight last start. DIAMOND TRADE has been well supported at every run and finishes powerfully. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – WAR SECRETS EACHWAY Race 5 SMART FOX was brave first-up with 61kg on the back of a strong trial at Lark Hill. Not sure what went wrong last start but was beaten with 400m to run and dropped out badly. Blinkers on, weight relief he can improve sharply here. DENGA went very close last start and draws the right side of the track. THE BEACH is worth consideration. Take away the last two flops and the two efforts down the straight this preparation have both been strong. YOELQUI changes stable, has gear changes and looks capable of picking up a provincial race before heading to Geraldton. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – SMART FOX WIN Race 6 FINANCIAL SUPPORT hit the line really well from four back the fence last start. Has shown versatility in his career but expecting Parnham to try and join the three deep train from the 600. This looks a thinner race than where he ran an eye catcher last start and he can repay some patient connections, none of whom need any Financial Support. ROSE THEIF could come out running and sit in a nice spot just off the speedy Sounds of Then. First-up effort was good enough to win this. SOUNDS OF THEN is no Art Series but will win races. Does a lot wrong and pulls like a train. COSMIC REFLECTION will do her best late. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – FINANCIAL SUPPORT WIN Race 7 CHAMPAGNE GAL was eye catching first-up in a strong form race and then a shade disappointing second-up in the same race as Stormy Ruler. Last start was well commissioned and found a mountain of trouble in the home straight going to the line untouched. From the draw can get it soft and has to be a live hope. STORMY RULER was the beneficiary of a Chris Parnham special last start. Nearly any other hoop and he gets rolled. This is tougher but he is improving. DELANEY is her own worst enemy but capable on her day. HALAKAL might be a wet track only commodity. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – CHAMPAGNE GAL EACHWAY Race 8 LUCKY LINDA LULU is nearly impossible to catch but if she can jump with them from the draw she should settle in the first six in running. She has a nice turn of foot and this is an extremely evenly graded affair. BON VOYAGE drops in grade and backs up in typical Bairstow fashion. KELLY’S SECRET bolted in over 1650. Back to 1400m and drawn poorly will need to be at his best. BLACK SHADOW was held up at crucial stages last start and Jason Brown couldn’t get going when he wanted. Can improve. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LUCKY LINDA LULU EACHWAY Race 9 REBEL KNIGHT jumps off the page. Second in a 64+ splitting subsequent winners Mrs Browns Boy and Grey Enigma. Last start in the Belmont Guineas finished within 5 lengths of Mystery Miss, True Attraction and Coming Around. He should be too sharp for these. BOLD VICTORY will be forgotten after he has failed on a trip to Carnarvon. The run wasn’t that bad and he can win and will be big double figures. MIDDLE EARTH has bled ratings points for months and months. Replay watchers will be including him. FOUR WHITE FOX should get a lovely run and is ready. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – REBEL KNIGHT WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,5 2,3,10 1,2,3,4,7,8,12 2,3,5,6,11 Market Market
