Scott Embry’s Northam at Belmont Preview Posted on August 29, 2018August 30, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SOY TAN RAPIDO is sure to have plenty of admirers in the opener. A Simon Miller trained juvenile with the speed to lead and blinkers on. Was well supported and strong first-up. FORK HANDLES would have been extremely hard to beat if she simply drew a gate. Looks destined to do it tough. First-up effort was enormous on the clock. CHOCKO and VEEBEE both resume off nice trial efforts. Both have speed and will be winning races. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SOY TAN RAPIDO WIN Race 2 DAINTY PAT will be deep in the red but when you look at her three year old form lines she simply has to be. Finished within a short neck of Epic Grey in a Saturday grade race. Asked for nothing in both recent trials and should be lengths better than these. SKETCH LINE was some sort of run last start when doing a lot of things wrong. If she races tractably then is the danger. KATUSHA will continue to improve as they distances stretch out. Follow her. LADY HAWKE would be a blowout chance if it pours. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – DAINTY PAT WIN Race 3 CHIEF COCHISE should bounce straight on the lead and from there is the one to run down in an evenly graded maiden. Effort in a strong Saturday maiden was respectable. PADDY O’FURNITURE kept coming in the worst part of the track last start. Encouraging debut and should improve off that effort. ROGER THE DODGER ran a big race two starts ago behind a highly talented one in Mr Geona. Last start left a bit to be desired. BLACK FILOU should stretch out over further but can run a race on debut. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – CHIEF COCHISE WIN Race 4 TRUE DEFENDER was well thought of on debut when getting a long way back and hitting the line in a race which was over at the 1000m mark. Has trialed very well for his return and typically the outside is the best going at Northam. GOLDEN WALLABIE was a very good trial and definitely looks capable of running a race on debut. Keep him safe. WATTO’S ASSASSIN was a fair trial behind the likely favourite and didn’t wear blinkers. SANANTORIO was not suited one bit down the 1000m straight, improver. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – TRUE DEFENDER WIN Race 5 SCARAMUCCI looks arguably the safest way to attack this weak maiden. There was a bit to like about the trial and could well roll forwards to sit outside the leader. SCOOTER’S MACHINE is going along alright and has run into some quality fields during his short career. No excuse from the gate. SON OF A COAT is yet to fire a shot so far this campaign but coming down the middle of the track should be the go on Thursday. DRINK THE RAINBOW was poor last preparation but trialed well enough to show improvement. Numbers: 12 – 4 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – SCARAMUCCI EACHWAY Race 6 LOFTY LAD looks to hold a mortgage over this race. Expect Lucy Warwick can cross straight over to the fence or at worst sit outside of Take The Punt. From there she controls proceedings and he looks a promising type. MOTORVATOR continues to run eye catching placings from well back in the field. Should get his chance. MONSOON won a weak maiden last start but looks to have come back a better horse. TAKE THE PUNT leads or box seats and is going well. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – LOFTY LAD WIN Race 7 MAGIC LAS VEGAS falls into his most suitable race this preparation. Should tow ball likely leader Abeldane the entire trip and get out turning for home. EVERYMILE A MEMORY will appreciate the drop in grade. She has always looked a stayer and this race is as weak as she will see. NAVY BLUE is tailing off hard ridden at the 800m hitting a flat spot and then charging again late. O’Donnell can be the difference. CARAZORO will bob up at a price soon. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet: MAGIC LAS VEGAS WIN
