Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on August 2, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SNOWCHINO was well thought of on debut and was run down and then never a winning chance when dragged back to last in Saturday grade. Drawn to lead or sit close handy here and is a sharp improver. REGAL COUNSEL comes from the same race and has strong form in Saturday 2 year old company. Draw is awkward but jockey in white hot form. ZEPHYR QUEEN could give cheek if she found the fence. CHASING THE ACE is yet to run a bad race in her career. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – SNOWCHINO WIN Race 2 ACERMETRIC hit the line like a train in a fast run 1100m race on debut. Settles midfield and then should charge down the middle. PAGAN IMAGE was never asked for an effort at trials and looked to have plenty in the tank. Runs a big race on debut. LOVE STRIKES is clearly talented but is likely to settle near on last. ROLL THE GOODTIMES was an improved run last start and made good ground late. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ACERMETRIC EACHWAY Race 3 MR GENOA really caught the eye at trials and ran a cracking time on the day. Stretched out nicely over the concluding stages and spaced the others. SCANDALOUS MISS charged across from an outside gate on debut to sit in the breeze and was brave when only run down late. MISS MANDY was never asked for an effort in her recent trial and can fill a hole. YOURTHEONEFORME is better than his first-up effort and can box seat. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – MR GENOA WIN Race 4 KWIK FANTASY really charged late last start when fully balanced. Shouldn’t have to spend a penny in the run from the gate and in a race without many winning chances she gets her chance. BARDSEY has never run a place from 12 starts but has run some encouraging races. SIDE WAYS SYD was a far better run last start than reads on paper. DIAMONDANNIVERSARY showed glimpses last preparation and was never on the track first-up at a mile. Numbers: 11 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – KWIK FANTASY WIN Race 5 HUMANITY simply will not get a better chance than this to win a second career race. Always promised a lot but failed to really deliver. Last chance – If he gets rolled here then never again, ever. TAKE THE PUNT is a last start maiden winner who should lead or box seat in this and gets a wonderful chance to make it two in a row. ELSA’S TRIBE can be an improver here in a weak race but needs to show something or likely seeks a new home. SOUND OF FURY could run a cheeky race leading. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1- 8 Suggested Bet – HUMANITY WIN Race 6 SKETCH LINE ran a huge race first-up and then has found trouble at both runs since. Backing up from last Wednesday, gear change and against moderate opposition gets her chance. THE ENCHANTRESS has shades added here and her trial was sharp. May be sent forwards and can go close. PRINCESS TARA looks to have ability and from the gate should get a cozy run midfield. EVERYTHING’S SWEET was disappointing on face value last week but she’s always around the mark. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – SKETCH LINE EACHWAY Race 7 SALON DU CHEVAL is a progressive stayer who looks capable of making his presence felt in a Saturday race. Showed versatility last start winning from off the speed. Can sit close handy and make it three from five. MISS MEIKA needs everything to go her way and only has a short sharp sprint. Gate helps. ABELDANE is raw and green but if Stent finds the front is well weighted. DIPLOMAT EXPRESS holds form once getting out to this distance and will finish strong. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SALON DU CHEVAL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,11 2,4 1,3,6,8 1 Market Market
