Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on July 3, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 IT’S TIFFS trialed well in the soft conditions and then was never in the race on debut, gave absolutely zero. Pouring rain forecast on Thursday, worth forgiving. CHEVAL DE VAGA looks to have ability but was run down late in the 950m trial by a horse that went average in a Kalgoorlie maiden on Sunday. SKY FIVE lead them up on debut and gave cheek. GUITAR TOM hit the line well in a recent trial. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – IT’S TIFFS WIN Race 2 ROSEICAPILLA was charging in a recent trial. The track was a slop and she was skipping over the surface with ease. If McGruddy comes across he likely parks outside of Sassational and can run a race here. SASSATIONAL is quick but the final 100m is the biggest issue with her racing. Given every possible last start in a slow run race. ANGEL JUPITER has put in two disappointing ones this campaign but taking on the older horses looks set to improve from the draw. WHY CHOOSE HER ran into some nice ones last campaign. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – ROSEICAPILLA EACHWAY Race 3 WIENER WALTZ sat parked three deep outside the speed in a race where they ran almost 5 lengths faster than average. Seven Castles came out for Lindsay Smith in Victoria at its next start and broke the Poly track record. Form is undeniably strong. NICKEL QUEEN is a nice 3 year old resuming. Given a soft hit out by Hall and then a quality one by Harvey. Ready to fire fresh. ASCOT GOLD will be winning races this campaign but bumps into a couple of nice ones. YOELQUI went well at his WA debut. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – WEINER WALTZ WIN Race 4 BLACK RUSSIAN was unable to work into the race last start but it was extremely slowly run and controlled from the front. Better suited out to the mile. LADY SI DAENG comes from the same race and was just as good as the favourite. AHYOKA FROST has put together two nice efforts leading. RAYMONDO looks like he will grind all day. The rain could be a positive for his winning chance. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – BLACK RUSSIAN WIN Race 5 BRAVE CALL was a huge run first-up at a big price. Was doing best work late and that form looks handy now with Regal Magic winning on Wednesday at Belmont. Worth inclusion eachway. MANHATTAN MONEY continues to be rated in the market off trial performances and early race form. Jumping short for one who needs to improve. ERISTIC almost won first-up and almost hit the ambulance second-up. Forgive last start and goes very close. THE VAMPIRE gave big cheek when let run two starts ago. Interesting to see the tactics adopted. Numbers: 9 – 13 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – BRAVE CALL EACHWAY Race 6 DIVINE SHADOW should stalk the speed and provided the fence isn’t off with all the rain around then should give backers a genuine sight. Debut win was impressive and can fire fresh. EARLY EXPLORER will get off them but has a big turn of foot and looks progressive and worth following into the preparation. ARTIE’S JEWELS is finally learning the racing caper and is improving with every run. I’M PRETTY is in form and wins another soon. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – DIVINE SHADOW WIN Race 7 LIDO BEACH was the winner of a C5 two starts ago and then ran third in a 60+ graduation race. Dropping back here to a C3 and after the claim is very well weighted. Can sit over the pace, just off Citichant and kick over them. PEARL GIRL has questionable provincial and country C2 form but hard to not be impressed with the two trials. CITICHANT is best allowed to jump and run. Has plenty of wins in the tank. REQUISTION put in some big runs last preparation, blow out hope. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – LIDO BEACH WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4,8 6,9,13 1,2,3 1,7,8 Market Market
