Scott Embry’s Thursday Narrogin Preview Posted on April 22, 2026April 22, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BEYOND THE LIMITS finished third behind Arrangement and Midnight Star two starts ago in a 1600m maiden at Pinjarra. Arrangement has since placed, MidnightStar has since placed, back in fifth Lupin has since won, Saucisson and Hundred Yards have since won – it’s the best form reference of the race. Last time out was beaten 16L at Ascot but he’s a 3 year old dropping into a maiden handicap and dropping in weight after the Jefferson Tsang claim. PRETEY ROYAL has finished second in maiden handicap conditions at her last two. At York over 1920 and at Narrogin 5 days later over 1720. Getting close. OBSCENTINO comes lengths better at Narrogin/York than any other track and has Nottle. INFRASTRUCTURE can roll to the top and give cheek. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – BEYOND LIMITS WIN RACE 2 I’M A SOULMAN has finished second at three of six so far in his career. This preparation he trialled well at Lark Hill, went back first-up in a winner producing 1000m maiden (Slip The Jab, Nistirith, Mandible Magic, Roaming America), finished 2L off Bondi Lifesaver, Playa Del Sol and Spellborn in a 3 year old 0MWLY and then most recently was run down late by Belaura Star (races at Ascot on Wednesday) in an 1100m maiden. Into a maiden handicap looks a great move. ARTIES ECLIPSE and AREDUET went toe to toe last start over 1100m here at Narrogin and there was little between them. ARTIES ECLIPSE was the superior run but again draws outside the older mare. ROYAL TALK is yet to show up on race day after being attacked in betting earlier in her career. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – I’M A SOULMAN WIN RACE 3 THREE GRAND gets a 2.5kg weight swing on Four Seas from their last start encounter and most importantly a set of shades for the first time in her life. She’s quick, she’s tough and she can be ridden with aggression early by Cooper to get across and rolling. She’s deep into a campaign (start #9) with only a 69 day freshen off a 6 start prep, but she’s continuing to produce. FOUR SEAS beat her home that day when winning a 46+ 1190 and only rises 1.5kg start to start same track/distance/grade. Should be right in the mix again. FAMEUX showed his first real glimpses of the preparation when closing the gap to a length late on a highly in form Rodney Oh Rodney. Can save all the ground here. GET OUT MICK an improver second-up. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – THREE GRAND WIN RACE 4 GOOD VIBES is a Narrogin / York horse and Neville Parnham just waits for these races. Her last nine outings have been at either one of those tracks in a 46+ or 52+ and she’s very effective: 9:2-3-4. She’ll slide across into a position close handy, she’ll give 110% and she’ll likely run another honest race. The only query is whether 58.5kg might just be coming to her weight carrying limit. ADRETT didn’t fire a shot in her first WA prep, but she did travel from Victoria to WA and was only 43 days between runs, so may have had enough. Resumes first-up, no trial, off a spell and has Chris Parnham in Narrogin for one ride. Watch. FIRST LAW won a 70+ at Esperance two starts back. He was a surprise winner at 30-1 but that’s two wins in the campaign in higher grade than this. Must respect. LADY NEGRONI hit a purple patch of form end of last campaign. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – GOOD VIBES WIN RACE 5 IMAPAGETHREE GIRL finally got the job done. She had been completely luckless throughout the prep (Stewards Report entries for ‘interference’ in her first six runs of the prep!!) but last time out she took full advantage of a favourable map and duly saluted. Think she can go back to back now with a confidence boosting win under her belt. BONDITRAM won well last start in a maiden but this is a big step straight into a C5. Gets in with no weight and should lob into a gun position, however, a few of these are well proven at the level already. Interesting to see what the market does with him late. CRUISE TO VICTORY didn’t win a race last prep but did place on four consecutive occasions in Westspeed Platinum/Graduation company. TOO MUCH TALK is 6 weeks between runs and has bar plates on. Red flag. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – IMAPAGETHREE GIRL WIN RACE 6 HUNDRED YARDS seemed to love the Narrogin circuit last start at the 1720 when breaking his maiden by an increasing 2L margin. Never a fan of following horses from a maiden straight to a C1 over ground but less reserved when it’s a 44/46+ at a unique track like this. The opposition is as weak as you could ask for and he really seemed to build a head of steam down the hill. ROCK OF KAHA backs up off 7 days after putting in his best run of the last 6 months. HOLDOUT should be an ideal horse for new Hong Kong 4kg apprentice Jason Li to kick start his career. He has ridden him 4x at trials, he races on speed and he’s drawn the inside gate. NORMA STARS only needs to reproduce her run of three starts ago to be a threat here. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – HUNDRED YARDS WIN RACE 7 LIEN HYPHEN won a C3 1800 at Ascot four starts ago and since then has contested 3x 60+ Graduation races. She has been beaten massive margins on all three occasions but at the same time this is far easier for her and she’s a winner at Narrogin previously which is always a green flag. Hopefully she can bounce back to her best. TOSEN IMPACT was 70 days between runs at 1500m at York when a narrow but impressive winner. Holly Nottle sticks and off his previous form (maiden winner at Tatura over 1980m) you’d have to say he’s the danger. MAGIC MIKEY wins a couple of races per prep. He lumped 61kg last start at the Narrogin 1900 to score and is a big chance again here at likely double figures. BELLA VIOLETTA was bitterly disappointing last start but now shades go on first time. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – LIEN HYPHEN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3 1,6,8 1,2,5,7,10 1,3,4 Market Market
