Scott Embry’s Thursday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on September 28, 2022September 28, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MRS KANGAROO is coming through a strong form race having finished fourth behind Exceltrain, Givemeonereason, Basil’s Dream (subsequent winner) and beating home Timely Advice. Should nearly bounce on the front and takes running down. EDWARD’S CHOICE looks the obvious danger. Finished third to Diamond Command and Bleecker Street on debut in a 2 year old midweeker at Belmont Park. Given a freshen and has a senior rider. BOOZEROO joins a new yard and Joshua Francis Leslie Brown (JFLB) produces him 7 weeks between runs on Hannans Day. Big day trainer. MAIDMY WAY has run well in both outings to date. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – MRS KANGAROO WIN RACE 2 MACK MACK brings alternate form and comes through clearly stronger races than the majority of the local maidens who have been battling away all season trying to pinch one. Fourth to Capricorn Man on debut, third behind All The King’s Men and Demolish at start number two and then since a spell has finished 5L off Baby Paris, Saintorio, Azena and Saloon Bar before finishing fourth to Saloon Bar, Hooah Havana and Bernbrae. Easiest race he has seen to date. PICK AND PAY and GOT LUCKY are drawn ideally but neither seem to have a killer blow in their arsenal. MR KOHANA is going super but the barrier hurts. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – MACK MACK WIN RACE 3 IT’S A LANCE was given a 56 day freshen by MR Peter Fernie and it seems to have done the trick. Since that break he has finished third behind My Squeeze Louise and Skipping Digits and then was narrowly run down by Popcorn Tender. Not much between these C2 types over this trip so provided he gets across without burning too much petrol he should be there in the finish. MISS RONA has run well since joining Mack Hall’s small team. Has the fitness in the legs and can turn this into a staying test. GALAHS DO ROAR will sit readwards and be saved for one last kick. RISKY LYRICS is still yet to settle this prep. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – IT’S A LANCE WIN RACE 4 COLD SHIZZLE is the class runner of the field and is particularly well placed by Darren McAuliffe. Five starts ago won a 60+ Graduation at Belmont beating Multinational (dual subsequent winner) and then finished only 2L off Mercanto (beat Mood Swings subsequently) before finishing 2.5L off Alsephina (deadheat 72+ winner last Saturday) and then dropping back into a C3 to beat Acefire (3L+ winner on Monday). Drawn ideally and hard to knock. BIN SHALAA has turned a corner and is seemingly thriving on the Goldfields. Comes up in grade but stays on the minimum and looks a progressive mare. SHORT TALK will jump and run and ensure there’s genuine tempo. YOYO’S may be better suited back in this grade. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – COLD SHIZZLE WIN Same Race Multi – COLD SHIZZLE (Top 3) + BIN SHALAA (Top 3) RACE 5 RECALLED only comes out of a C1 victory (and did defy a huge betting drift, $5.50 to $13) but he was a strong winner and ran right through the line, holding out a talented galloper in Tiff’s Lad. Steps straight into a 1600 to suit and provided he handles the 8 day back-up from his first-up assignment he should prove hard to beat. Only finished 6L off them in the Challenge Stakes at 1500 and off Alaskan God at 1800. GLUTEN FREE has promised to win a race all campaign but continues to find one or two better than him. IRRITALE RODNEE joins the ownership of DR & KB Warren through the Inglis Online Digital Sale and should be a nice horse for the region. BILL THE BEE ran well last start. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – RECALLED WIN RACE 6 FORTY NINER has been given 8 weeks from a Belmont Park campaign to tackle this Kalgoorlie C2 fresh. Won a maiden at Belmont over 1200 beating home He’sgotswings and then finished fourth behind Keep Attacking, Dorado and Choice Bid in a handy 1200 C1 two starts later. Relatively talented type for these country class races and should run well fresh. DAWN AMNESTY finished off hard behind Bin Shalaa and then made ground late behind subsequent winner and leader Cosmopolitan Girl. Keep safe. NO WHISPERING looks likely to lead and control. DALHOUSIE went round favourite in a 58+ last start. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – FORTY NINER EACHWAY RACE 7 WESTERN TEMPLE has been putting on Hannans trial after Hannans trial. Fourth at 1200m behind Resortman, Hot Zed and Nerodio first-up, repeated the effort second-up, ridden upside down third-up (yet fought on well) and then flashed home late at Resortman over 1400m in the Farnley Stakes. If they overcook it he’ll be storming late. Targeted at this race and looks to be peaking. STARTRADE was below his best last start after a breathtaking win first-up. LET’S GALAHVANT only won a 72+ last start but burst through late and is in a rich vein of form. TITAN BLINDERS was absolutely bolting last start when they put in a change of tactics to ride him rearwards. They could easily look to settle leader’s back here and he looks a live hope. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 9 – 13 Suggested Bet – WESTERN TEMPLE EACHWAY RACE 8 PEDAL POWER looks one of the more progressive gallopers in the region. Five starts in Kalgoorlie and finished in the top three on every occasion. Massive winner last start with 61kg and should land in a similar position in running here. Hard to hold out the way he’s going. RULING DAME let rip at her first start for Nick Caropellotti and the form was franked big time at Belmont with Red Hot Goods putting on a galloping exhibition after being crunched in betting. TALK IT UP is a hard horse to catch but racing consistently well. WESTERNIZE is two from two this preparation and gets a gun run over the speed. Respect. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – PEDAL POWER WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,4,5 1,4,5,8,11 2,3,5,6,9,12,13 2,11 Market Market
