Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on March 26, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 EMBASSY SQUARE seems to be improving with racing. Still fairly confident he’ll get even better when they step him out over further being such a big, awkward moving type but he can win this. HAMADA will be the X-Factor runner. Won a three horse trial by almost 18 lengths but the other two could hardly pick their feet up. MY BLUEBOY was well thought of on debut but didn’t flatter. Immediate gear change. BRINGON THE VEUVE next best. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – EMBASSY SQUARE WIN Race 2 WAR ANTHEM has found his race. Was big on debut when making ground in a leader dominated race. Second-up ran into the talented Henty Gal and then third but got a long way back and made steady ground when weaving through traffic. This is not a strong race and he gets his chance. SMART TYCOON looks like finding the front again for Pateman who could get away with it. BUFF MAN has been through a number of stables but always showed promise. DOLCITY not impossible off a soft run. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – WAR ANTHEM WIN Race 3 MAGIC EMPIRE has had two trials in preparation for a return to the races and the most recent without blinkers reads poorly on paper beaten 6L but was untouched and held up the entire length of the straight behind a smart filly who belted them on debut. CHIEF ARCHER was a nice trial and drawn the inside should get every chance. CALAG has been consistent in trials and should sit over the speed. NEAT ACTION also should enjoy a soft run on debut. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – MAGIC EMPIRE WIN Race 4 ROSEBUSH has been scratched from Wednesday to be saved for this easier assignment. Bar shoes go on which is an obvious and major concern but last preparation she was stiff to run into some very progressive types in C1 races far stronger than this. STELLA ANNE is also scratched from Wednesday to race here. With Pike aboard she will get every chance and has nice 3 year old form. OVER THERE would be hard to beat if they also abandon race 8 Wednesday. MARK MY CARD has been racing consistently all prep. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROSEBUSH WIN Race 5 VENGEANCE OF WAR was the target of relentless support last start. He is no star and certainly not an easy horse to ride but this maiden is as weak as they come. LAVISTARR has been disappointing at both runs this preparation after an encouraging trial. FAIRTORE is a 32 start maiden but finally gets some weight relief in the handicapped maidens. Gives connections some hope of pinching one out in front. AL’S FAMOUS went well last start after looming the winner. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – VENGEANCE OF WAR WIN Race 6 STAFFORD’S LAD has found his niche. Since stepping out to the staying trips he has been very effective and very impressive. Gave Summer’s Skye a lesson last start and she has since run a close second in a Saturday graduation. Looks to have this race at his mercy. STAIRWAYTOTHEMOON drops out of the Natasha and bypasses the Oaks. She looks the danger. GOLGOTHA is consistent and never far from the action. PALACE ROGUE will win his fair share of staying races this preparation but this one may come a run too early. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – STAFFORD’S LAD WIN Race 7 FRIAR’S FANTASIA looks very well placed here. She has been in form all preparation but has been finding traffic at every turn and racing without any luck at all. If Pateman can get her to the outside she’ll be hard to beat. FINANCE was good at his Durrant debut and should only improve on that run. He is a talent. JIMMY RAPID is a hard one to follow. Far better than his poor effort at Geraldton. TOGETHER WE DREAM a query at the trip but leads unchallenged. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – FRIAR’S FANTASIA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,5,6 1,6 1,3,6 1,5 Market Market
