Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on July 2, 2024July 2, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 OCEAN OUTLAW has his first start for Dylan Bairstow after being purchased in a recent online sale and if he was to run to anywhere near his level when finishing half a length third to Jaz Session / Janny or even 2L off Oscar Charlie/Lifeisbutadream or En Plein Air/Maxine’s Wish then he’d be hard to beat in this from an ideal barrier. DON’TTHINKJUSTDRINK and BRONTE’S DREAM are both jump and run types who are suited to the 1000m short course. LE BEAU trialled well behind Correct Choice who ran an honest third at Bunbury on Sunday. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – OCEAN OUTLAW WIN RACE 2 EXTREME LOVE has been a test of patience for punters having gone under a few times at the shorts. Recent trial was good enough (nothing spectacular) but this line-up really lacks depth and thinking that she’ll land in a prominent position and take holding out. Did run second to Doctor Jay fresh last prep. COUNTESS OF KENNA trialled back in April and looked handy after doing a bit wrong at stages. DRAG MACHINE is produced on debut first-up no trial. Last seen publicly at Lark Hill in February when winning a 950m trial. Love the booking of Paul Harvey. MARCHING is yet to reproduce the run that saw him finish a narrow second at Bendigo back in May 2023. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – EXTREME LOVE WIN RACE 3 MIRO is double accepted for Wednesday at Pinjarra and Thursday at Bunbury. On paper this race looks a gift for him – so if he was to scratch from Wednesday and save for Thursday then expect he would be very popular with punters. First-up effort was in a 3 year old 0MWLY behind King’s Salute (since placed in a 66+) and highly touted talent History Won’t Care. Back to a C1, out to 1690 and drawn to get every chance. GLITZ IT broke his maiden in style and then covered plenty of ground last start. If Miro doesn’t start he becomes the one. SIRIUS STORM is racing below what most think is under the hood. HUGHBERT next best. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – MIRO WIN RACE 4 PLAY THE BLUFF is exactly what we’re going to do here. Given a really quiet trial by Jarrad Noske at Belmont Park and sent straight to the races where he couldn’t have asked for a better race to make his debut. There’s genuine question marks on all his rivals and he wouldn’t need to be a star to be running a big race here. NO BID wasn’t disgraced on debut when fourth behind Magnachine. Wheels fell off after that but the trials leading into this campaign have been alright. Watch. MARYBEE ran well down the straight at her return to racing. GALILEA has real X-Factor but the barrier hurts? Numbers: 8 – 7 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – PLAY THE BLUFF WIN RACE 5 WAYNE THE PAIN finished off brilliantly behind a dominant on speed winner in a fast run race that should hold up as a form reference. Going through his form he’s run second to Hoba Meteor (beating home Choixway), he’s finished third behind Linden’s Gold and Stylish Lord and he’s beaten home My Hidden Universe in a maiden. Form is actually super. CABLE GIRL comes through the Mr Talentino race which has already produced stablemate Devil’s I for victory and she was pretty stiff in that event when held up for a large portion of the home straight. GOLD RUBY has run well in both outings. DESIGNER LABEL is massive and looks better suited drawing wide. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 12 – 5 Suggested Bet – WAYNE THE PAIN WIN RACE 6 HARBIN looks ready to win. Two runs in WA have produced a second to Hibiscus Lady and then was nailed on the post by the stablemate Wango Award when plunged in betting second-up. Great pick up ride for Lucy Fiore and should get every favour from the draw. Blinkers reattached (3-time winner in shades) and should be hard to beat. ULTIMATE STYLE was enormous last start at Belmont when tramping wide throughout and fighting on bravely. CRUISE TO VICTORY ran well at his first outing for Grant & Alana Williams. SUCCESS PLAY loomed into it last start but then faded out badly. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – HARBIN WIN RACE 7 PAPAVERO PRINCESS had a breakout preparation when last in work, going from a luckless Geraldton maiden defeat through to winning a C1 and finishing a solid third in a C3 at the end of her campaign. She’s trialled up well for her return, she looks well weighted after the claim and she’s drawn a gate to get a nice run close handy. Capable type. KING ADVISO is first-up since May 2023 and it’s been almost 2 months since his trial. Obviously has issues but trialled like a beast. AMARLIE MISS was a big improver first-up to second-up and can win again. Got plenty of time for her. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE has been popular in all WA runs but is yet to really set the world on fire. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – PAPAVERO PRINCESS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 7,8,10,11,13 1,5,9,12 1,4,8 5,7,8,9 Market Market
