Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 11, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MERCANTO looks another athletic, imposing type that team Gangemi are about to unleash. They seem to find these big and raw types (Friday Knight, Notorious One) who do things wrong but have a big turn of foot. This 3 year old seems far more tractable than those two and should go close to getting the job done on debut. ZAC LUVS TO FLY got little luck early last week but faded badly and put in an uncharacteristic shocker. Can bounce back. KIMBERLY BOY can run well for the old Durrant-Hall combination. SCOOZ ME didn’t fire a shot on debut. Blinkers on and Chris Parnham on. Keep safe. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MERCANTO WIN RACE 2 TESTING LOVE was huge on debut when running into second behind No Surrender. No Surrender goes around at ~$3 in a 3 year old midweeker at Ascot on Wednesday and Testing Love drops into a Bunbury maiden. Should only improve for the experience and the outing and was simply eye catching on debut. Cerise and White horses take a big step first-up to second-up and there will be plenty of punters sweating on this price. SCORPION STORMZ has put in two good runs for Josh Krispyn’s local yard and looks like he’ll be winning races son. SHEZA CHALMER went back on debut but can sit right over the speed in this. MONEY TWIST gets a soft run on debut. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 9 – 12 Suggested Bet – TESTING LOVE WIN RACE 3 TIBETAN BLACK has run two great races from off the speed at her return to racing as a 3 year old. First up finshed off well from the back in a slowly run event behind Giancana and Scorpion Stormz and then in a real front runners race was the only horse to make any ground in the race (or meeting) and finished third to Gallant Ranger and Hoover. Looks primed for a mile and takes on a fair few horses who have had their chance. NICK OF TIME is a new horse this preparation for Greg Evans. Looks like he’ll run well. HEAPS OF MOOLAH is no star but is improving with racing. THE ROAN RANGER is hard to catch but has some level of ability. Numbers: 12 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – TIBETAN BLACK WIN RACE 4 NOBEL LAURENCE couldn’t have done any more on debut and looks set to break his maiden at start number two. Is raw and green but very impressive in the way he can sustain a run and provided Mitchell Pateman can get him to go even half straight he’ll take serious holding out late. 1400m gives him a chance to balance and run them down. KEYTRADE has had no luck so far in his career but looks to have a motor. Again drawn horribly but worth keeping safe. TREVERN was green on debut and given every mortal by JJ Brown. Can lead soft again. SERIOUS might sneak under the radar. Went well on debut. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – NOBEL LAURENCE WIN RACE 5 THE WHITE WITCH was backed heavily last start ($4.8 into $2.9) and when caught wide early finally got across to settle over the speed. Loomed the winner but couldn’t quite finish it off. Huge query on the form because they’ve gone 8L slower than maiden average but with the shades on and a gate she is worth following up on. TILLYS GOT TALENT finished off well in that same race and looks to have come back well. THEHUNTSMEN is one paced but was knocking on the door all last campaign. BABYTINO ran well fresh. Numbers: 11 – 12 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – THE WHITE WITCH WIN RACE 6 BEAT THE BRO is a lightly raced 4 year old returning. Beat Giant Leap first-up last preparation and then ran second to La Vina and Fuhrer in 3 year old metro midweek races. Resumes without a trial (same as Tiff Has Spoken last Saturday) and Paul Harvey rides. Very hard to beat on form. ON RED ALERT is brilliantly placed by Alanis O’Hara/Browyn Mathieson here. First-up was narrowly beaten in a C3 at Ascot, then stepped into a C5 at Northam when finishing fourth behind Phoneme and Turbo Power (with Sixpence Spent winning Sunday) and now drops into a C1. Has weight and a wide gate but Laqdar Ramoly riding brilliantly offsets it to some degree. THREE EZE comes from a C1 that contained Fairetha Stakes winner Kallaroo. Had no luck in that race and Pateman jumps on. JADAVI was a great trial. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – BEAT THE BRO WIN RACE 7 DOUBLE JEOPARDY hasn’t fired for a while but this is arguably the most suitable race he has seen. Love the engagement of Joey Azzopardi. From the inside gate he can hold up leader’s back and hopefully break through after a long run of outs. His best is easily good enough. AMELIA BEDELIA goes well fresh and goes super at 1000. Will be right up in the firing line for a long way. ANGELIQUES FAME will need an ounce of luck from the wide draw but has trialled up well for her return. AGENT JAY is better than what he produced fresh. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE JEOPARDY WIN RACE 8 CABLE GUY is a talented type and Martin Knox was able to produce him first-up at 1400m in a C5 when running an impressive second to Phoneme and Turbo Power. That could prove a strong form reference and he drops into a C3 second-up. Can carry weight (2nd with 61.5kg) and can sit right over the speed. HIP WIGGLE didn’t look to run out 1800m on Melb Cup Day. Improver back in trip. LYLES CHOICE was the beneficiary of a vintage Jason Brown ride last start. SAFE TO MAKEUP has blinkers back on, Paul Harvey on and a soft draw. Red flag city. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – CABLE GUY WIN Quad (R5 – R8) 2,5,7,8,9,11,12 1,2 2,4 1,2,3,4,5,8,10 Market Market
