Scott Embry’s Thursday Belmont Preview Posted on November 9, 2022November 9, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MICRO BURST, MILITARY POWER and ESTIMATOR have all been trial stars in recent weeks. The three respective stables all probably thought they would be nominating for a Bunbury at Belmont maiden which would see them winning on debut. Unfortunately for them they clash but it makes for an exciting Thursday prospect and a great maiden form reference. MILITARY POWER will have to burn and do it at both ends but looks a capable 3 year old on debut. Beat debut winner French Martini in a recent 1000m trial. ESTIMATOR has barrier 1, has tactical speed and can park and ride the speed. MICRO BURST has bar plates on and is a 5 year old mare on debut. Clearly has huge natural ability. PROMISED BRIDE next best. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – MICRO BURST WIN RACE 2 TORONADO BULL makes his debut for the powerful combination of Danny Morton and Chris Parnham. In the last 365 days they have teamed up 108 times for 33 winners at 31% strike rate at 12% POT. Long-time successful partnership and a Toronado Colt who trialled particularly well when covering ground and proving too strong. This is a far weaker maiden than Race 1 and think he’ll go well on debut. CHANGING GUARD ran second in a trial to Ruler Rocket who makes his debut in Race 1 at Ascot on Wednesday in a 3 year old 0MWLY. MASTER ALEX looks to have come back a better 3 year old. DIVINE FLIRT has ability but does plenty wrong. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – TORONADO BULL WIN RACE 3 STAR POWER steps out to 1200m for the first time. Second to Wild Belle, second to French Martini. She’s clearly going well and she look one of the big players on paper. Just not entirely sure whether or not the end of 1200m may just stretch her. Goes on top, but may go around on the shorter side for a filly stepping past 1000. Risk vs Reward. QUINDANDINO ran third behind Fiorucci Mama at only his second start as a 2 year old. Covered the ground nicely in his recent trial. STORM LEADER has been backed at odds in his last two. Going alright. CIAO LUNA raced without luck as a juvenile. Looked sharp in her Albany trial and W.Pike’s booking catches the eye. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – STAR POWER WIN RACE 4 MAGNALEE was highly impressive at her return to racing. Came through a trial behind Rusty Dreams (proven form) and then finished off powerfully late in the race behind Trionfante. Drops to 54kg taking on the older horses, draws a gate and can settle closer. SCENERY met with late support in betting on debut and travelled into the race nicely. Held his head very high and raced quite greenly. Should take big improvement from the experience. EMERALD TRADER has a wide gate to contend with and is a 5 year old but every time he has been to the trials he has looked super. Think there’s a motor under the hood. VERY SECRET is drawn to get the run of the race. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAGLALEE EACHWAY RACE 5 FRECH was competitive last start in a C1 1800. Drops back into maiden company and carries the exact same weight. Should be peaking thought-up from the spell. Has shown glimpses and from the barrier this is definitely winnable for him. RESTFUL has a set of blinkers added and William Pike returns to WA and takes the ride. She’ll have plenty of admirers but will likely settle a fair way off them in the run. OPTIMAL was a late scratching on race morning 7 days ago. Matched motors with Restful behind Royal Elite. KUTSANYA is hit and miss. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – FRECH EACHWAY RACE 6 MY DILEMMA gets her best chance yet for the David Harrison stable. 2.5L off Real Grace and Vampi At Play, 3L off Bustler. Pair of 60+ Graduation races back into a C3, drawn a gate for the first time this campaign and Paul Harvey sticks. Plenty to like about the mare and this is winnable for her. NO DICE can position up far closer in the run from a more favourable alley. She’ll get a nice midfield run and has a turn of foot. HALATORION backs up and may be better suited being drawn wide to get back and work through his gears. SAMARIA scratched from Wednesday to save for Thursday. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – MY DILEMMA WIN RACE 7 AMJAAD broke her maiden in a stirring battle with subsequent winner The Desert Fox and then was legless when stepping to 1650m behind Sesswa. That race has already produced Demolish to victory and Missile Storm races on Wednesday at Ascot. Blinkers on fir the first time and back to 1400m. Both big ticks. STARRY HEIGHTS won like a horse who would be going through his grades. The barrier hurts but there’s a guaranteed three deep train in this near capacity line-up and if they’re making ground on Thursday, he’ll be popular. TIFF’S LAD is becoming a bit costly to follow but this is a nice race for him. VICTOR VIXEN an improver. Numbers: 15 – 11 – 2 – 13 Suggested Bet – AMJAAD EACHWAY RACE 8 CREZEE is always there abouts when He c McLaren drops him back into this grade. Should be a genuine speed through Dance Of The South, Heaps Of Moolah and Big Swoop and that will allow a horse like Crezee to park midfield and make a sustained run from the 800. Going well and gets the run he needs. DANCE OF THE SOUTH got shuffled back into an impossible position last start. Run was far better than it reads on paper. BLAISZEN CAZAH doesn’t win out of turn but he’s going extremely well. BLUE CARD looks just about ready. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – CREZEE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,8,9 3,4,5,7,10 2,11,15 2,4,5,6,9,13 Market Market
