Scott Embry’s Thursday Belmont Preview Posted on November 9, 2021November 9, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ARNRAY looks an out and out staying proposition capable of giving Kirryn Scallan her first winner as a trainer. Trialled up over 1450m well behind the likes of Trap For Fools, Queen Takes King, Royal Command and Utgard Loki before running a big race first-up over 1500m. Got a long way back in a fast run race last week and was unable to get into it when chasing throughout. On the back-up, out in trip, drawn soft, looks a nice race for him. MIA NOBILE has hit some form for George Davies and this looks a winnable race for the little mare. Third behind Mahaleo and Kolchino two starts ago reads up well and she was attacking the line late once getting clear last Thursday. GLENAUREEN loomed large first-up at 2200m and just peaked on the run late. PHENOMENAL ANOMALY has a lot to learn. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – ARNRAY EACHWAY RACE 2 JAMAICA JEUNEY looks like rolling to the top for William Pike and leading this event at her own leisure. Copped a fair bit of pressure throughout at Narrogin last start and kept coming down the home straight. This isn’t an overly deep race and she gets another great chance to break through. CATALPA was stopped in his tracks last Thursday. Looked to have something to offer if he had got clear air. I’M A DREAMER continues to go round short in the market for a horse who has only been fair so far in six outings. No excuses here. DASH OF BRANDY finished off well behind Success Play in a 3 year old 0MWLY last time out. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – JAMAICA JEUNEY WIN RACE 3 FRIGID did it tough on debut. Was humping from barrier 10 of 10 and William Pike got caught out on a limb working hard throughout. Still loomed into the race and went down under half a length behind subsequent 3 year old Graduation and plunge winner The Lady Is A Vamp. Should get a far more economical run from barrier 1 and with cover all the Peters Investments horses go better. SEEABLE ran second in the photo, nailed on the post by The Lady Is A Vamp. Made his debut without a trial and looks raw but talented. DADIRRA is coming from a better quality of race. PRIMATIVE comes from a winning family and Lou Luciani is a genius with the 400m jump outs. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – FRIGID WIN RACE 4 KASONORI looked a real talent back at trials in December 2020 and April 2021 before being slow to step on debut and finishing off as well as anything late in the race. Immediately tipped out by Sharon Miller and produced here first-up no trial. If he’s anywhere near ready to go fresh he should take beating. Looks above average and worth following. EEVALINA has come back to racing well. Looks a versatile filly who can sit forward or rearward from the awkward draw. Knocking on the door. HOT BLOODED and CAFÉ NERA both caught the eye late in their respective jump out and trials. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – KASONORI WIN RACE 5 ACTING GOD put the writing on the wall at his return to racing. Settled last from the outside draw and rattled home into third. Was the run of a horse who is ready to win and he has shown ability in every one of his six career starts (placed at five). Drawn a gate to settle much closer in running and from there he’s the one to beat. TILLY’S GOT TALENT was knocked around on the fence in the same race unable to build any momentum at any stage. Could be forgotten in this race. VALBANI will get back and be attacking the line late. MIDNIGHT MYSTERY cruised through the line in a quiet trial at Belmont. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – ACTING GOD WIN RACE 6 BROADWAY GIRL is a 7 year old mare who hasn’t won a race in over 1000 days. Certainly doesn’t read up well but her runs when last in work when returning from a long absence were all strong and her recent trial without blinkers was excellent. Could sneak under the radar and play a part at an eachway quote. HE’S A LUCKY LAD chased hard behind Acromantula in a blistering 950m trial at Lark Hill run in 55.07. Capable 3 year old probably on a Derby preparation. ENGLISH HERITAGE was excellent first-up and plain second-up. WINSALOT can improve sharply out in trip. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – BROADWAY GIRL EACHWAY RACE 7 GHOST WHO WALKS will sit back and watch this race unfold early. There is an abundance of speed (too much speed) in various parts of the line, with Shock Result, Famous Jurney, Pink ‘n’ Gray and Heavenly Waters all likely to attack for the early lead. Expecting him to concede them a big head start but equally expecting the leaders to be paddling hard late in the event. I’M EUGENE will be better suited over further but it’s hard to ignore his 3 year old 62+ run behind The Spruiker. Did win first-up last prep. RED INFERNO was given a 10/10 by Jade McNaught last start and can go on with it. SHINJU is better than these on his day, the query is whether his best is behind him. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – GHOST WHO WALKS WIN RACE 8 BRUCE ALMIGHTY continued to improve throughout his last preparation and scored a fighting 72+ win when gunning down Billy Ain’t Silly in the final stride. Particularly well placed by Neville Parnham back into a C5 and his recent trial was sharp beating talented sprinting stablemate Brooklyn Pier. From the inside gate he should get a lovely run tracking the speed and rarely runs a bad race. SPILLINOVA was afforded every chance by Rosie Mahony last start. Looks like being able to work his way to the front here and from there is hard to beat. GLAMOUR PACKED comes back half a cog in grade and racing consistently. EXCELESTIAL held off a luckless God Has Chosen last start to win. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 10 – 6 Suggested Bet – BRUCE ALMIGHTY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1 3,4,5,6,8,9 1,2,3,5,6,8,9,10 1,2,6,8,10 Market Market
