Scott Embry’s Thursday Ascot Preview Posted on November 12, 2019November 14, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 JAGUAR GREY was the biggest run in defeat at Ascot so far this season. Went right back to last and was unable to reel in a promising filly in Chatter Session. She draws a gate here to sit far closer in the run and if she reproduces her first-up or second-up run she’ll be winning. If there is any black figures they’ll last 10 seconds. PAMBELLA is drawn awkwardly but has shown versatility in a short career. Can be ridden forward or back. YULONG ROCKSTAR ran well at WA debut. CRIMINAL CODE ran into a pair of smart animals at trials. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – JAGUAR GREY WIN Race 2 ZENAZE was a shade disappointing first-up when sitting over the speed and fading into fifth. Improved sharply second start this prep when trucking in the run and getting within a length of Tramika who was off and gone in the run. Should break through here. RAPID TRANSIT has shown above average ability and the effort behind Superstorm was strong. IGARASHI needs to improve but can with the shades on and a soft draw. COMBAT READY is likely looking for further but is consistent. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 13 – 1 Suggested Bet – ZENAZE WIN Race 3 JAG THE JOKER does a lot wrong in the run but has a sustained turn of foot. Draws a gate to sit midfield in the run and wind up from the 600. Can give this moderate maiden a shake. SULPHUR CRESTED showed a bit last start after two fairly plain runs. Should be given every chance. FUSION has trialed up well and draws soft on debut. GUESS SO is a work in progress but has some ability. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – JAG THE JOKER WIN Race 4 WICKLOW PRINCESS burnt the turn at a recent trial and looks like finding the fence or sitting outside of the debutante Starize. Went close on a few occasions in her short career. STARIZE has shown speed at Lark Hill and was gunned down late at her most recent by a very impressive animal. PUT A SPELL ON YOU has been catching the eye at trials and while she draws poorly on debut she’ll be doing her best work late. WAR IN PARADISE has always promised to win a maiden and the recent trial was good enough to run a race fresh. Numbers: 8 – 11 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – WICKLOW PRINCESS WIN Race 5 NOBEL TIME should fire straight to the top here and take serious running down. First-up win was strong and second-up effort in a tougher assignment at Ascot was disappointing but back to Northam she can rebound hard. VALIDATION was scratched from a winnable race at York to save for this. Box seating suits her and she’ll be hard to hold out. PRECIOUS LIBERTY was below par first-up and can improve. SAFETY BAY was impressive in the first-up win and has no weight. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – NOBEL TIME WIN Race 6 BURNING PRIDE is really well placed first-up this campaign back in a C3. She can settle over the speed and in her career she’s run some super races. First-up effort in a C3 last preparation was super behind Stratocreed and beating home Dickoletto. ACERMETRIC seems to enjoy Northam and from the gate should enjoy a suitable run in transit. ALTA SULL’AMORE scratched from Bunbury to save for this and her turn of foot is good enough to win. MISS UNFORGETTABLE leads and takes running down. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – BURNING PRIDE WIN Race 7 UPWARD OTHERS is a big class dropper here back to a C3 54+. Recent assignments have been Saturday grade races and the traditional annual Kalgoorlie Race Round. Particularly well placed after the claim of Bonnie Palise. HIGH ENERGY loomed as the winner last start. Can race close handy to the speed from the draw. DIAMONDS FOR ALL should come across to lead and is consistent as they come. HAY MAGIC is racing well. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – UPWARD OTHERS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 5,8,10,11 3,5,6,8 2,3,4 1,2,3 Market Market
