Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on January 31, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BINDAREE LADY is ultra consistent and throughout her career has hardly run a bad race. She’ll give a sight at a reasonable price in a small field, especially if she finds the front. POTENT SECRET has been building towards another win. Waiting for them to unleash him from the gates. SENSO is an interesting addition to the region and should measure up, especially over 1400m. SIR SNUGALOT lumped a huge weight fresh and but is up sharply in class. Numbers: 3 -2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – BINDAREE LADY WIN Race 2 WHAT ABOUT MOSES and STARORIO both look like winning maidens and unfortunately for the stable must clash head to head here. You would think the money will tell which one is winning. Watch the market and follow the Great Southern Rent Money. ONESHOTHENRY actually batted on really well last start. Is getting more and more tractable with racing. ROMAN GIFT was reasonable fresh and gets it soft here. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – WHAT ABOUT MOSES WIN Race 3 SHEZABUTOO was held up at crucial stages last start in a race where the leaders really got away from him. Has shown best form at Mt Barker which is a concern and a query at the mile but the stable have had success with the family. HOWDYSON will jump well into the double figures but for a debut over a mile the trial wasn’t the worst by any stretch. GENZEBE will open very short for a horse who looks one paced and needing further than the mile. ORASKY continues to knock on the door without breaking it down. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – SHEZABUTOO WIN Race 4 MASS EFFECT looks to have found another suitable assignment and has been improving sharply at every run this campaign. He is a staying type and if he can get the better of the stablemate then this does look a winnable one for him. GAUGED has held form all preparation and once he reaches these staying trips is always hard to beat. CANNA LILY is a wonderful veteran race mare and will be sitting in the breeze and will keep coming. READY TO FIRE should just about be ready to fire. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – MASS EFFECT WIN Race 5 READ THE RIOT act took a nice step from maiden company into Class 1 company when running into smart stablemate Malilangwe. This is a similar sort of line-up and he can settle just off the speed and fire home late. DEANGLES is nominated and accepted for a variety of races over the weekend and if he starts here then he deserves to be favourite and will be hard to beat. HERBELL stuck to her task very well last start and was impressive. POLDARK’S GIRL is at an interesting stage in her preparation and may be suited over a bit further. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – READ THE RIOT ACT WIN Race 6 WAR JEUNE has been out of the winner’s enclosure for a fair while but he is classy on his day and more than capable of carrying weight and winning this race. CHASING CHAOS was ridden cold last start. Back to Albany if he is allowed to stride and find the front then he’ll be hard to run down. Interesting to see where he lobs in the run. IONYX is likely to take it up early and Chasing Chaos could be sitting to his outside. Loves to roll off the fence in the straight and there will be plenty getting up inside of him. BABBLE is one who should take the short cuts home. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – WAR JEUNE WIN Race 7 WICKED HUNTER was a video replay watchers eye catcher first-up for the Paul Hunter stable. Was very well commissioned and the connections probably feel a bit stiff. It was a big run in defeat and he can make up for it here. IT’S NOT TRADING is a query at the 1100m. If it was 1200 or 1400 he would stand out. LADY STINGRAY is in really good form and there is no reason why she can’t make it two of her last five. MESSIAH found his race last start and looks to do it tougher here. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – WICKED HUNTER WIN Race 8 GO CRYING won really well fresh in a race which has proved to be a reasonable form reference. Was beaten on his merits last start but after the claim for in form apprentice Jade McNaught looks to have this race at his mercy if he can stick the trip. ROUND THE POINT lacks a killer blow but along the inside will have no excuse. MASSA MAC is likely to be ridden cold which was the key to success when bolting in a few starts back at Barker. MY GIRL CHILLY will lead them up and try to run them into the ground Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – GO GRYING WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,6 1,2,6,8 2,3,4,8 1,2,3,7 Market Market
