Scott Embry’s Sunday Roebourne Preview Posted on June 6, 2025June 6, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LIVING LIKE KINGS was well supported throughout betting last weekend at Port Hedland and like all of Leigh Murray’s horses went super. Finished second to stablemate Brazilian Belle and now has a senior rider on at his second-up run with a tongue tie added. MAKE DE FORTUNE should be a really nice Roebourne / Port Hedland horse for new trainer Tim Pike. Needs all of 1400m but if ridden aggressively early is capable of rolling to the top and staying out of trouble. That’s likely key to her chances, the first 200m. ORIENTAL FLYER and POWER TROOPER next pairing. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LIVING LIKE KINGS WIN RACE 2 STAY WEALTHY turned back to the clock to his Leonora and Laverton wins at Roebourne a fortnight ago with a dominant on speed victory. Gets out to 1611m but don’t see that stopping him, nor the extra 3kg on his back. The top weight is out of form and the rest of them are a query on how they’re going. HIDE THE OREOS left Broome as a c70 rater, he’s returning 12 months later to Roebourne as a c59. He won four straight races at Broome on the dirt. Huge market watch. CHAVORIO tries hard and drops weight on the back-up. ARCHER COUNTY improves up in trip. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – STAY WEALTHY WIN RACE 3 SHOOTING KONTIKI looks to have found his most winnable race of the prep so far. Second to Simply Rosso two back and then last weekend fought really hard underneath of classy dirt galloper Royalzel. If he can cross he’ll be hard to beat here. SIMPLY ROSSO has won back to back races on the dirt to start his campaign with a 56+ 1200m win at Port Hedland and a 56+ 1103m win at Roebourne. Had to pull out all the stops to shake off Shooting Kontiki last time out and concedes him 3kg now. HOW PRETTY has shades removed and map opt to sit? PROTECTED ACTION was a big improver last week and the market knew. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – SHOOTING KONTIKI WIN RACE 4 SHE IS GOD led and won at Port Hedland at her first start on the dirt by a 4L margin and the horses who ran second and third (Brazlian Belle and Matsoka) both won at their next outings. Last start ran into Warby Ranges who is going to be a handy horse for the region and happy to follow that form through. Back in distance to suit, off 7 days and expected to jump and run. KIA ORA TATOU and MATSOKA will try to go with her early and the result of the race might well come down to who steps best and which rider gets the spot they want first. PRINSESSA ANJA is also really quick early. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – SHE IS GOD WIN RACE 5 DIAMOND TIPPED and MRS KANGAROO are both last start winners; DIAMOND TIPPED won a C1 1200 from the back of the field at Carnarvon when getting home powerfully to score over subsequent winner Devils I and MRS KANGAROO was your typical Roebourne style jump and run winner this track/distance/grade for Bailey Webster. Going to go with the speed horse but wary that Diamond Tipped might be a lover of the dirt. STAR POWER has her first start on the dirt. They’ve been sitting her on the grass in Perth, but on the dirt, expect that they’ll be riding her for speed. COUSIN NICCI a watch. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – MRS KANGAROO WIN RACE 6 MEGA REWARD came through the Royalzel race first-up (run 4.7L faster than average, and a subsequent winner himself) and then led and won this track/distance/grade stopping the clock 2.8L faster than average himself. If they again allow him to cross and lead then he’ll be hard to beat. REGINALD was the beaten favourite in that event and after he didn’t jump his race was over. WAKAN TANKA drops back in grade from the 68+ races but must lump a full 62kg. UNI QUEEN is a watch on the freshen. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – MEGA REWARD WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,5 1,2,3,6 1,2,5 3 Market Market
