Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on February 9, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 STARATING could not have been more impressive at trials on Monday. She ran straight past Cross Statement (who is a Saturday winner) and she was building quickly through a big finishing burst. On debut when made a lot of ground up the rail on a day which proved to be extremely ‘off fence’. Went shin sore at start two. She looks good. ANOTHER STRIKE got to the line powerfully on debut when coming hard at Simply Thinkin’ and Don’t Wait For Luck in the concluding stages. Gets another 100m here, some race experience and should only improve. BRAZEN EMPRESS ran into the sharp Call Of Duty last start. No surprise to see Chanel Cooper kick off her career with a bang. FAMOUS DAIN trialled well. Numbers: 11 – 4 – 10 – 6 Suggested Bet – STARATING WIN RACE 2 MY HIDDEN UNIVERSE is still raw and green but he’s got a decent motor for a maiden. In his trial he extended away nicely from them late after leading and then at the races he kicked clear at the top of the straight before being swamped by the highly impression Sensessional. It was an off speed day at Ascot on that occasion too so he also went massive against the pattern. Won’t be a maiden long. PAPAVERO PRINCESS is bursting to win a race and looks a huge danger. She covered a stack of additional ground last start and the horse she finished second to in that event has won again since (Russian To The Bar). WESTERN POWER is going along well. WAYNE THE PAIN next best. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – MY HIDDEN UNIVERSE WIN RACE 3 SEVEN IRON sat three deep outside the speed last Sunday at Bunbury in a race where they didn’t come up for air. Was entitled to fade back through the field and run 8th or 9th but he kept coming under pressure and held down third. Shouldn’t lack for anything in terms of fitness now and if he gets a half decent run over the speed he looks hard to toss. TRIO trialled the house down for his return and then didn’t really get into the contest at any stage fresh. Drawn another really tricky alley. PLAYING AROUND was third behind Russian To The Bar and Pavavero Princess. Form on show in R2. PRIZED DYNAMITE comes through one of those 1450m trials which don’t normally stand up but he covered the ground well. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SEVEN IRON WIN RACE 4 BHULLAR was better last start. Drawn barrier 1 and has been looking to be ridden closer to the speed all preparation – gets her chance here. Racing like she wants 1800m, does no work from the draw and if Seven Iron wins Race 3 the form will be franked. ALIEN CLOVIS has blinkers off (replaced with visors) and comes through the Alaskan maiden. That has to be respected as a form reference considering he came out and won a 60+ Graduation at his next outing. SABBATICAL SILK comes back into a maiden. Effort two back was sound into third. PSYHIC SESSION went out over 1800m in a C1 last start and ran them along. He’s the half brother to Beaucount who used to have the exact same racing pattern. Numbers: 12 – 6 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – BHULLAR EACHWAY RACE 5 FIRE THE GUARD has had two runs so far this campaign: third down the straight behind Sunbronzed and Safekeeper and then fourth behind Cheeky Charlotte, Bondi Plunge and Safekeeper after settling a mile off them and wide. Going along alright and straight track experience is big. HYPERREAL was beaten 4L on debut by Oscar’s Fortune, Gold Citation and Lord Shiva. Looks great form for a 1000m maiden down the straight, however, he’s drawn the ‘wrong’ side of the straight course. Never easy from there and the bigger the field the harder it gets. CHOP SUEY was enormous last start when wide throughout and can hug the outside rail here. ON A WINNING DAY travels really strongly but isn’t exactly powering through the line at the end of her races. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – FIRE THE GUARD WIN RACE 6 SHELL BELL is double accepted on Saturday at Bunbury and Sunday at Pinjarra. First time down the straight is always an unknown but if you’re going to tip into one at their first outing you really do want them to be speedy and capable of getting themselves towards the outside fence – that’s Shell Bell. She’ll jump, she’ll run and if she gets across to park up outside of Mrs Kangaroo they’ll set a good tempo and play ‘catch me if you can’. MANGALEE is proven down the straight and that’s a big thing. She’s a model of consistency and if Shell Bell scratches she becomes the one to beat. RUPERT’S EMPIRE is drawn the ‘wrong’ side but he’s one for one up the straight. ROMERO was good at Barker. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – SHELL BELL WIN RACE 7 DUCHEEES DEMERIT finished third in a 64+ at Albany behind Manavendra (subsequent 60+ winner on a Saturday) and then finished fourth at Barker last start in another 64+ beaten 1L by Missalfie, Sowar and Ultimate Style. This is only a weak 50+ and a lot of these are bringing far more questionable form than him. Nice use of the 1.5kg claim for Victoria Corver and maps to get the run he needs. Very winnable. BERGAMO might end up posted at some stage out deep but that’s offset by the 4kg claim of Chanel Cooper who brings the weight down to 54kg. Going along well and always gave the impression she would stay. BELLA EVE will keep coming. Rock hard fit and racing consistently. FLOAT OUR BOAT has lobbed a nice race for the new stable and connections. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – DUCHEES DEMERIT WIN RACE 8 VIA MONTE was sold in the Inglis Online sale that finished on Wednesday and so for the new connections he’s going around in a C5 only days later and he looks a massive chance of returning them a healthy cheque. He’s going lengths better than it reads on paper and he’s sneaking back in grade after contesting 2x 72+ and 1x 66+ so far this campaign. Looks like a really good purchase. ART OF SABRAGE like all of Simon Millers has been scratched from Saturday at Bunbury to race on Sunday at Pinjarra. Bit like Via Monte his form is not accurately reflected in recent results having raced without any luck. MAGNUM CLASS is looking for three on the bounce and progressing nicely. IMPERIALIZE an improver. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – VIA MONTE WIN RACE 9 TERRATIFF was massive behind Play Dice (who ran fourth in the WA Breeders Classic last week) when sitting back and savaging the line two starts ago and then was held tight from on straightening until the race was all over last week behind Russian To The Bar. Grant & Alana Williams are going to throw a lot of faith behind their stable apprentice and from watching trials she looks like she’ll repay that faith (and the punters). Always have to be forgiving when backing 4kg claimers early in their career but happy to roll the dice with a talented filly and a talented apprentice rider. CITINO was horribly unlucky last week behind Savorski. CHARLIE JANE has speed to get across. SCHUHBECK is racing well. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 11 – 12 Suggested Bet – TERRATIFF WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,3 1,4,6,9 2,3,4 9 Market Market
