Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 2, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DESERT SLEEVE was caught three deep in his recent trial but was still too powerful for his opposition late. Don’t think there was much in terms of depth in that trial so it was more about the work he had to do and the fight he showed late. Winnable maiden on debut and drawn to get a lovely run. FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER is on debut and chased hard in a sharp recent 1000m trial at Belmont Park. Has tactical speed to use the gate. BLUE EYED GIRL will come out running and looks for the fence. If she crosses, she’s capable of leading throughout. CHANTEL worked through traffic late in the piece to finishing strongly in her only public appearance. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – DESERT SLEEVE EACHWAY RACE 2 GOLD KEEPER was well thought of first-up in a 3 year old 0MWLY when running into what looks a really sharp filly in Rear Admiral. Drops from a 3 year old 0MWLY into a maiden and draws a better gate to sit a pair or two closer in the run. Trial win was impressive and 2 year old form was strong. Gets his chance second-up. IMPERIALIZE, SNAZZLER and GALAXIAN GIRL all trialled super for their respective debuts. They all should be winning inner provincial maidens sooner rather than later. Big respect for all three of them. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 14 – 8 Suggested Bet – GOLD KEEPER WIN RACE 3 UNCLE GERARD is one of a number of chances for Jason Pateman on what looks a big opening day at Pinjarra Park for his stable. He’s big, he’s raw and while he’s still learning he’s capable of picking up a race or two before the penny drops. Finished second to Megami last start and with Playhouse Patron coming out of that race to win the 3 year old 0MWLY at Belmont on Wednesday the form looks good. Another winnable race for him. ALLEGRO SONATA has been going better than numerical form suggests. Steps up in trip and the way she’s racing she’ll see it out. TALLANGATTA ran well on debut and Chris Willis’ seem to be going far better than their market expectations. THE LUCKY CHIP will need some luck from a tricky draw. Numbers: 6 – 14 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – UNCLE GERARD WIN RACE 4 ARNRAY has raced 14 times and finished in the money at 8 of those 14. He’s not an easy horse to ride and wants to lay in and lug out at different stages as he runs his races in patches. Barrier 1 means that he has a rail to follow and Brad Rawiller is now familiar with his quirks. This is his chance to finally win one. TRAVEL WARNING looms as the obvious danger on paper. Third behind Megami, Uncle Gerard and beat home Playhouse Patron. If he sees out the trip he’s more than capable. FEARLESS GOD will look to come out positive to find a spot. ROMMEL’S RETURN ran a ripper at odds last start. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – ARNRAY WIN RACE 5 TORPEDOMAN resumed in a 3 year old Grad behind My Bella Mae, Prawns Eleven and now subsequent maiden winner Universal Playboy. He then went to a Northam 1100m when jumping, leading and running, finishing fourth behind Deetea and subsequent winners Lucky Sue and Scenic Eclipse. Back to 1000m and drawn to find the outside fence down the 1000m straight. OREGON HIKER produced a pair of impressive 950m trial wins. The only knock is barrier 1 on the ‘wrong’ side of the straight. BOAB BOY has been trialling nicely and Brett Pope’s fly at their home track. MAGNALEE is going well and drawn the ‘right’ side. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – TORPEDOMAN WIN RACE 6 KAMARSHALL won well on debut down the straight back in June and was immediately tipped out for a spell. Recent Lark Hill trial he finished second to highly talented 3 year old (and 3 year old 0MWLY winner) Brave Venture, beating home Peters Investments mare Extra Secret. Drawn barrier 11 to hug the outside fence and finds a winnable C1 for his return. POT SHOT is racing against the older horses and Dion Luciani’s speedy fillies typically go well down the straight (think Sockoff). WUHAN WARRIOR is quick but can wobble around in running. Hopefully blinkers and Paul Harvey straighten him up. GREY MISTRESS won her maiden well. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – KAMARSHALL WIN RACE 7 NO DICE has found another nice assignment. Three starts ago in a C3 1000 at Ascot finished a nose second behind Critical Altitude beating home handy type Rockin’ Rupert. Since then has finished fifth in a 0MWLY behind Real Danger and Rockin’ Rupert and then raced a little flat on a shifting surface at Belmont Park. Don’t think she was at all comfortable on the Soft5 and back on top of the ground can bounce back. Nice race for her. THE COOLAKIN KING should find the front and control. I’M EUGENE is very hard to catch but at his best he’s more than capable. Soft draw helps. SECRET STATUE goes well fresh and raced in 60+ Graduation company last preparation. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – NO DICE WIN RACE 8 GREAT FORTUNE has been a nice acquisition to the Brian Kersley stable. Two starts ago in a 60+ Graduation at Ascot finished a brave third behind Never Sober and impressive subsequent winner Queen Alina (races in a 66+ on Saturday at Ascot). Never got clear at any stage two starts ago in a complete forgive run and then finished third behind Surveillance and Mystery Island in a similar quality event last start at Northam over a mile. Drawn well, racing well and maps well. HEAR ME SING had to head down to Albany for a confidence boosting win. He’ll enjoy a gun run from the inside draw. ARAGAIN may find 1500 on the shorter side. CONQUERED ZONE gets back and runs on. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – GREAT FORTUNE WIN RACE 9 PREPARE FOR CHANGE only won a moderate maiden last start and historically speaking it’s very hard to win a maiden straight into a C1 because you rise in grade and rise in weight at the same time. He’s a big, raw animal who looks to have plenty of upside. Loved his win and with Let’s Erupt running them ragged on Thursday we’ll roll the dice and follow him. VEVINSKY is bursting to win a race. Third behind Truly Inspired in a C1 1800, second (beaten a nose) in a C1 1650m. Can lead, can roll and wins one very soon. DUCHEES DEMERIT ran a great run first-up at Albany. KING KASHOO is ready to win. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – PREPARE FOR CHANGE WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,4,7,9 1,2 2,3 1,2,3 Market Market
