Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 18, 2022March 21, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SPICY DANCER has had four starts up the 1000m straight and finished in the money every single time. 1000m straight form is worth gold in these races and thought his recent trial was quiet and impressive. Drawn on the ‘right’ side towards the outside fence and pretty keen on him to get punters off to a flyer. MINNO improved sharply dropping back in distance and seemed to enjoy straight track racing. GLACIER MISS didn’t fire fresh but David Harrison’s horses fly down the straight. MISS SILVERSPRINGS trialled well for her new stable. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – SPICY DANCER WIN RACE 2 SERVICEMAN picks himself in this race. Finished third first-up behind Rokanori and Penny’s Afield first-up and then second-up got a long way back and never got into it. Much better last start when only 2L off Vital Gem and Twice A Fortnight. This race is as thin as it gets and he is drawn a perfect alley. Now or never for him. GRACE DU ROI was drawn woefully on debut and still went around single figures. Much better drawn and expecting sharp improvement. BEAUSMEBUBBA will be huge odds but wasn’t too bad last start. ENDURING MEMORY looked good to the eye first-up but those maiden handicaps are poison as form references. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SERVICEMAN WIN RACE 3 MY HIDDEN GEM is first-up at 1600m but strikes a very weak maiden field. Finished third in a mile maiden at Northam and second in a mile maiden at Northam last preparation and the most recent 1450m trial was only 1.5L off Roman Flirt who goes to the Grandstand Cup on the weekend. Think she gets the right run and can definitely win fresh. FRENCH went round 100-1 on debut but ran particularly well. With Queen Of Jerusalem winning on Sunday it makes that form look even better. OUR CHARLIE BOY steps out to a more suitable trip and has a senior rider aboard. DUCHEES DEMERIT improved first-up to second-up. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MY HIDDEN GEM WIN RACE 4 STEELS THE DEEL third behind Mama Tembu and Cywer first-up no trial, second behind Lassoo The Moon from a long, long way off them second-up and is far better drawn in this event. Looks like he has come back bigger and better this preparation and if he can settle a couple of pairs closer in the run and reproduce the L600 sprint then that makes him very hard to beat. THE COOLAKIN KING was luckless on debut and then was brave out in front last start when fighting off Vranyo down the straight only to be run down by talented filly Sweet Admiration. JUSTAMIDDY didn’t have any luck last start. Ready to win one. MERIT MAGIC trialled nicely and had reasonable form when last in work. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – STEELS THE DEEL WIN RACE 5 DOUBLE SPICE is simply a different horse under the care of Neil Dellar. Drops 3kg from last start when almost giving 4kg claim Cassey Martinan her first winner on Esperance Cup Day. Prior to that he was a big winner of a 60+ Graduation at Ascot beating in form mare Cristal Dane. Comes across, travels strongly and looks to have found another winnable race. PRICE DEVOUTLY is always popular in the market for a horse who has had a lot of opportunities and hasn’t won for a while. Bungled the start at his most recent and then was never in the race. LONEHAND LARRY was scratched from Wednesday to save for this. Always shown glimpses of ability. SIR MAMBO is hard to catch but on his day he’d be going very close in this. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE SPICE WIN RACE 6 WOODRUFF has burst onto the scene out of nowhere in the last month. His effort two starts ago when wide the trip and running fourth was enormous and then he backed it up with an even bigger staying effort when wide the trip and proving simply too strong for them. Last start went from a maiden into a C3 and ran into Float Our Boat who is smashing the clock an running rivals ragged. Drops back into a C1 and stays at the same weight. Looks very hard to beat in this moderate affair. SPARKLING JEWEL looked to be travelling up to them nicely last start. Then didn’t really let down. Think she’s ready. MAN OF THE HOUR looks ready to win and has improved with every start for Michael Grantham. TEMPEST MISS backs up off 3 days. Ryan Hill horses backing up: just follow them. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – WOODRUFF WIN RACE 7 UTGARD LOKI has turned a corner in the last month or so and now looks to the one to beat in the 2022 Bull & Bush Tavern South West Cup. Looked to be bolting last start and then finally saw daylight and was able to burst through before going under in a three way photo behind Paddy’s Shadow and True Attraction. Gets a 2kg swing on True Attraction and Paddy’s Shadow doesn’t go to the race, looks an ideal set up for the now in form stayer. Lucy Warwick is riding well, Adam Durrant is unstoppable and from the draw Utgard Loki looks like getting the world perfect run in transit. NEUFBOSC caught the eye in the Detonator and the Bunbury Cup and gets big weight swings on True Attraction. Third-up, should be ready. COME RIGHT BACK was the target of huge money last start ($14 into $4.60) and was completely luckless. TRUE ATTRACTION is now top weight and is drawn horribly but he has the turn of foot to get himself out of trouble. Numbers: 12 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – UTGARD LOKI WIN RACE 8 MY BABY BLUE JEAN is accepted for Ascot on Saturday in a 3 year old Plate. We’ll preview on the basis that she is scratched (otherwise she’s the obvious on topper). TO RISE AGAIN is flying and bursting to win a race. The last two efforts down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra have been nothing short of massive and now is drawn the outside fence. Like this race for him (if My Baby Blue Jean is out). IMPRUDENT is starting to prove himself a 1000m straight track specialist. Can do it at both ends and is loving life. AL QUEPONE is a different horse at Pinjarra Park. POKER FACE reunites with Holly Watson and is best ridden for speed. Numbers: (2) – 5 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – TO RISE AGAIN WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,5,7 1,4,5,8 1,2,3,6,12 1,(2),3,4,5,9 Market Market
