Scott Embry’s Sunday Northam Preview Posted on October 4, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DRINKWHATYOULIKE broke her maiden in absolute style, romping in almost 5L above benchmark figures. She then fired up and over raced badly when unable to cross the speedy Mia Dolce and they cut at each other the entire race. Jumps straight to the top here and can bounce back. BEAUTIFUL MIND is a nice mare on the rise. She is rapidly going through the grades but just might find these a touch sharp. BEDOUINE BELLE has her fair share of ability. CHISANO won well last start when showing toughness. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – DRINKWHATYOULIKE WIN Race 2 WARFISH and JOYRIZE both ran into Miss West Coast last start beating home Drinkwhatyoulike in the process. That should prove the superior form reference. WARFISH draws a bit sticky but no surprise to see Carbery come out running to take up a position. JOYRIZE will be winning one very soon and looks a big danger. WARBLER is racing well and draws soft. TIBIA VARA trialed nicely. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – WARFISH WIN Race 3 SPECIAL BEAU looks as though she will need a bit further than the 1100m of this race but trialed well enough to still give it a shake on debut. This is not a deep or strong field. MY BLUEBOY went close on a number of occasion last preparation when racing consistently and has trialed up nicely. SNIPPETY BELLE has shown some ability at trials and Chris Parnham riding 54kg is always a bit of a lead on a Sunday. REGAL POYSE was thrown in the deep end on debut. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL BEAU WIN Race 4 HAIL DA HINCHI is a 3 year old colt on debut and his recent trial behind Wild Walley was strong. Wild Valley didn’t enjoy the best of luck on debut ad raced greenly but was $3.60 into $2.50 and Hail Da Hinchi was a nice trial in the same heat. MORE FIZZ looks like she will eat up the 1300 and stretch out over further into the preparation. SHADOW SHIFTER brings mainly metro 2 and 3 year old form to the maidens and can’t be discounted. CINNAMON RUN raced consistently last preparation. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – HAIL DA HINCHI WIN Race 5 SHADOW HUNTER showed above average maiden ability throughout his earlier campaigns. He has the shades removed as they were in a recent trial when finishing powerfully down the middle. From the draw should get a nice run and strikes a weak assignment. SULPHUR CRESTED didn’t get into the race first-up and looks better suited at the mile. GOLDVEIN rebounded to a bit of form last time out. HARD TOO CEE next best but has had plenty of chances. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SHADOW HUNTER EACHWAY Race 6 SEA MAHER ran well first-up at 40-1 and then justified support when winning a Saturday metro maiden event. Looks progressive and is an impressive specimen in the yard. Gets every favour from the draw. BOBCAT JOHNNIE has repaid patient connections and is clearly in career best form. If Kennedy can get outside the leader he’s right in it. If he crosses he’s the one to beat. STELLA ANNE caught the eye last time out and drops in grade from a C3 to a C1. TAMPERING FALLS kept kicking last start. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – SEA MAHER WIN Race 7 SLICED BREAD has put together two good runs since returning. First-up probably needed the run and was left to do all the work in a reasonable form race and then second-up was stiff not a win a Saturday Graduation. Should be ready. GET OVER IT is a class dropper and was the target of big backing last time out in a 70+. His previous effort behind Regal Counsel and In Love With Paris reads for itself. THE ESCORT is racing well and draws well. SUMMIT TRAIL can improve quickly without surprising. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – SLICED BREAD WIN Race 8 DIAMONDS FOR ALL was coming from a maiden into a 60+ race when looming large alongside progressive stayer Too Close The Sun. He comfortably beat home Beaucount who made the form look good 7 days later. Likely settles outside Fairtore and that run says he’ll stay all day. FIRST BLACK is on the quick back up and drops in grade. Justin Warwick’s horses thrive off the quick turn-around. FAIR GLORY comes from a fast run mile race at Belmont Park and was doing his best late. CELTIC DIVA was slightly disappointing last time out. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – DIAMONDS FOR ALL WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,6 1,4,8 1,2,4 1,2,3,4 Market Market
