Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on August 9, 2024August 9, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 AWEEMAWAY is knocking on the door and coming back to 1100 might be in his favour. He’s been beaten small margins since coming to WA and from the draw he should get every chance parked right over the top of the speed. GEORGE ON SKATES has only had one public appearance when parking three and four deep in a 1000m barrier trial at Belmont before sweeping around them and finishing second. Drawn to get all the favours on debut. Big watch. SECRET STYLE is first-up, no trial and the Peter Fernie-Andrew Inglis combination have had a lot of success with ex-Bob Peters horses. GREY REVOLUTION next best. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – AWEEMAWAY WIN RACE 2 SASSY SKYE has been thereabouts on a few occasions since being transferred to the Goldfields and these 1400/1600m maidens are very weak. There’s a lot of horses who have had a lot of opportunities and thinking that if she was to roll to the top and control for Laqdar Ramoly she’ll at least stay out of trouble. I HAD A DREAM was a big effort in defeat at his first start for Josh Brown. Reproduces it and goes close. ABSOLUTE PLUMB was popular in betting last start but never really got into the contest. Forgive. ALOTTA FIGHTING put in a ripper on debut. Numbers: 12 – 8 – 6 – 10 Suggested Bet – SASSY SKYE WIN RACE 3 RYEWOOD was a brilliant replay run last start and considering that she meets a lot of the same rivals here and has a senior rider going on it’s hard not to tip into her. She can park close handy along the fence and provided she sees some galloping room on straightening expect she’ll be hard to hold out. BRAZEN EMPRESS was first time 1760 last start and now steps out to 2100m. Continually improving and giving 110%. IT’S A LANCE rarely runs a bad race and he’ll keep whacking away when the pressure goes on. THE CANDY KID can give cheek. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – RYEWOOD WIN RACE 4 ELSUENO comes through the It’s A Lance / Ryewood / Brazen Empress 62+ last start and you’d think that they will make the form look excellent in Race 3 when they dominate the market (and hopefully the race). Drops back into a C2 and gets his chance to break back into the winner’s circle. KOLCHINO is E1. If he gets a start (no rider named on Pray With You) then he’s well worth big consideration. Put the writing on the wall last start. THE FINAL BELLE appreciated getting out to 1600m last start and looks like she’ll stay. MORE THAN ENUFF a watch heading to the Goldfields. Numbers: 2 – 13 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – ELSUENO WIN RACE 5 DON’T WAIT FOR LUCK looks the kind of horse who can work his way through the lower grades in Kalgoorlie fairly quickly. Gives the feel of a Dreamtime Jean / Brazen Empress/ Debonnaire type who will build and build. Maiden win was arrogant and his 3 year old form is excellent. DUO MUSO tried hard in a 58+ last start and comes back to C2 company where she won emphatically the start prior. KHALIDA bounces out, puts herself in a spot and will be hard to run down. FIENDISH is flying. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 11 Suggested Bet – DON’T WAIT FOR LUCK WIN RACE 6 KING’S CALL is another Brandon/Lucy Fiore horse who may well head to Kalgoorlie and lob with Peter Fernie (think Don’t Wait For Luck / No Whispering). All the recent runs in C3, 3 year old 0MWLY and then C1 company in the metro and provincial area have been sound and provided they can make ground on Sunday he should be hitting the line hard. Looks a swoopers race this. ZING TO WIN was a different horse with the blinkers on two back and landed good bets last start. RULING DAME was never in the contest at her return to the Goldfields. Can bounce back. WANNA CRACKER has been hammered in betting his last two without much luck. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – KING’S CALL WIN RACE 7 ABLOH has raced without luck the entire campaign. Matched motors with Californication first-up, covered more ground than any Belmont horse this season in the Sky Final second-up, flew home third-up from an impossible position, held up the entire fourth-up when bolting and then last start hit a Soft6 in a race dominated by on speed runners. He’s going super and he gets into the 2024 Kambalda Cup with 54.5kg. IRRITABLE RODNEE and KICK A GOAL SON both get some weight relief and map to get the runs they need to win. UNCOMPROMISED was a ridiculously good return to racing for a miler. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – ABLOH WIN RACE 8 NO WHISPERING was too strong for them last start when enjoying a gun run close to the speed and presenting at the right time. Back out to 1400m and rising up to 60.5kg make the job tougher but expect he’ll land in a similar spot and he goes lengths better at Kalgoorlie than any other track. CAPTAIN ROGERS has been a model of consistency throughout the campaign and Ash Grace now goes with blinkers and a senior rider. NORTHERN IVY sneaks back in grade and hasn’t been disgraced behind Kick A Goal Son / Debonnaire. PRINCESS CHUNK didn’t look to hand the wet track at Belmont. Forgive. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – NO WHISPERING WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,4 1,3,5,6 2,3,4,5,6 1,3,4,11 Market Market
