Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 26, 2024July 26, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MISS DE BEERS ran second to Kraken Time first-up and with that galloper going around favourite in a 3 year old 1400 on Saturday it looks like great form for a Kalgoorlie maiden. Last start was ridden for speed and faded out late over 1427m and now dropping back in distance she should be competitive in what is a thin maiden. AWEEMAWAY went within a head of breaking maiden status last start and should get every chance from the draw. GREY REVOLUTION was well supported last start but found a bit of bad luck on straightening. DE ZANE GREY a fit and ready newcomer to the region. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – MISS DE BEERS WIN RACE 2 DON’T WAIT FOR LUCK should be too strong for these. First-up last campaign was a luckless fourth in a 3 year old 0MWLY and then wasn’t disgraced behind Simply Thinkin’ and Another Strike in a quality maiden at Bunbury. Recent trial beat home impressive Thursday winner Famous Dain and finds himself in a Kalgoorlie maiden. ALOTTA FIGHTING ran a ripper on debut and wasn’t too bad last start at 1400. CINCINATTI DUKE finds a new home and when Chris Willis brings them to Kalgoorlie they’re usually ready to win. MASTER PLATINUM finds this easier. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – DON’T WAIT FOR LUCK RACE 3 ABSOLUTE PLUMB ran well first-up and then improved again second-up when going to the line locked together with stablemate Edward’s Choice. Gives every indication that he’ll see out a strong mile and from the draw Tash Faithfull should be able to give him every possible chance of breaking through. CHOIXRISKA heads up to the Goldfields and joins Peter Fernie’s yard. Has been getting a long way back on bog tracks recently in the metro area. PIRATE’S ALLEY hasn’t quite lived up to the trials so far. THE FINAL BELLE could round out a potential MR Peter Fernie quartet. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – ABSOLUTE PLUMB WIN RACE 4 ZING TO WIN had blinkers added to his race gear at his most recent outing and after missing the kick ended up a long way off them in running. Charged to the line behind Duo Muso to finish fourth and if they can make ground on Sunday he looks to have found a winnable assignment at his second run on the Goldfields. CELESTIAL FOX has raced in 58+ company at her last two. Back in grade and a senior booking both catch the attention. KHALIDA has her first start in WA and has plenty of speed. AMERICAN THIGHS is also quick early and has barrier 1. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ZING TO WIN TO WIN RACE 5 SO LIKEABLE is a last start winner this track/distance/grade when beating rivals Ryewood, Magic Will Reign, Captain Rogers, It’s A Lance, Olden, Dancing Jack and Deel Red. Rises up to 60kg but again should roll comfortably to the top to control and dictate terms to them and then can be very hard to get past once rolling. RYEWOOD went around $2.10 in that same event and now gets 4.5kg on So Likeable with the engagement of Chanel Cooper. Always risky with an apprentice on a backmarker but that’s huge weight. BRAZEN EMPRESS is up in grade but a progressive filly. CAPTAIN ROGERS is a model of consistency. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – SO LIKEABLE WIN RACE 6 DEBONNAIRE faces his acid test on the Goldfields but is going from strength to strength. Has won three on the bounce: 2x C2 and a 58+ and now steps into 70+ company for the first time. Drops down to 55kg and maps to get every chance forward of midfield. Gives the impression he’ll take the step up in grade with success. HIGH PRESSURE gets 1.5kg to try and turn the tables on Kick A Goal Son and is racing very well. KICK A GOAL SON appreciated the claim last start and got the better of LOVE DRUNK BABY who looks next best. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – DEBONNAIRE WIN RACE 7 NO WHISPERING had her first start back at Kalgoorlie most recently over 1400m and was there for a long way. It was an improvement in form third-up and now dropping back to 1200 (where she is a 3x winner track distance) and with Lucy Fiore going back aboard thinking she can break through. DUO MUSO is a last start winner this track/distance and did so with ease. She’s on the improve and can win again. KELLY’S LI ZA LU is fresh and more than capable on her day. PARORI had to work hard early last start but had nothing to offer late. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – NO WHISPERING WIN RACE 8 RULING DAME looks really well placed as she heads to Peter Fernie. She’s dropping out of a provincial C5 and Belmont Westspeed Platinum races which are m60/m58+ assignments into a country C2. She’s drawn off the track and will need a big steer from Tash Faithfull but she’s easily bringing the best race form to this assignment and in a capacity line-up there should be a three deep line to follow. NOVATORIO showed a big turn of foot to win impressively last start. Can go on with it now. MORIAH is trying hard. PRAY WITH YOU is a little hit and miss. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – RULING DAME WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,9 1,5,6 1,2,3,4,5,8,9,13 5,10 Market Market
