Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on August 13, 2022August 15, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 COSMOPOLITAN GIRL is a new season 3 year old filly and gets in with absolutely no weight on her back. She has competed in an Initial Plate, 2 year old Magic Millions, Supremacy Stakes and three 2yo SWP races in her career. This is lengths inferior to anything she has seen. BIN SHALAA has only had the one start for new trainer Georgia Grant and she finished second to Prawns Eleven, who is now an impressive C1 winner since. Looks the right form but will need some luck from a tricky draw. AMERICAN SIOUX can box seat from the inside and go well. LATHAMS WISH an improver. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – COSMOPOLITAN GIRL WIN RACE 2 A TOUCHY SUBJECT and GOT LUCKY have both had their fair share of chances but both get another wonderful opportunity to get the job done. Going to side up with GOT LUCKY purely and simply because Laqdar Ramoly probably rides Kalgoorlie better than anyone in WA. Lucky will need to time his run and GOT LUCKY can go close. A TOUCHY SUBJECT can mix his form but the Dyson claim helps and the blinkers go on. SHAWTY went really well last start. PATRIOTISM battled on well enough. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – GOT LUCKY WIN RACE 3 FIRE AT WILL is starting to emerge as a real country/provincial staying talent. Victoria Corver elected to stay in at the 600 last start when Three Eze went around them from the back of the field and then he got shuffled back to a really awkward position before letting loose with a powerful turn of acceleration. Think if he settles he’ll run past them in the small field. BENTLEY’S BROTHER and CUBAN TWIST have clashed a number of times over the years and there’s rarely much between them. Leaning to CUBAN TWIST who should get it soft in front. LEXDEN GAMBLER a big improver. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – FIRE AT WILL WIN RACE 4 SHAKE BABY SHAKE finished second in a C1 last start when Prawns Eleven went straight past her at the top of the home straight. Thinking that Prawns Eleven is nearly city class and noting that they did beat the third horse by a further 4.5L which is normally a great indication of the strength of a race. Straight to the top and never look back. LOOK UP comes back to 1200m from 1620 and 1400. Going really well but that’s the query on him. TALK IT UP continues to be aggressively punted week in, week out without winning. Running out of chances. EEVALINA brings intrigue. Nick Carapellotti is improving tried horses and has teamed up with the Who’s Who of WA punting. Big watch. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – SHAKE BABY SHAKE WIN RACE 5 DALHOUSIE joins the stables of Nicholas Thomas. Season (and career) statistics: 14 runners, 6 winners. More importantly The Verdict, Divulge and Hilton were all first start for the Neverstop Lodge Stable and won at their first outing. Has a short, sharp turn of foot which suits an inside draw. If she gets up you’ll feel the groundswell as Mouse Gray gets busy lifting her home. KIMBLERLEY BOY can always run well in this grade. Thinking they can ride him aggressive from the inside gate. PRINCE OF PROMISES has been super in two runs back. FACTORY MADE has been sound since joining Peter Fernie. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – DALHOUSIE WIN RACE 6 MONEY TWIST and the entire Dan & Ben Pearce team are on fire at the moment. Beat Mong Khon three starts ago in a mile, stepped to 2100 and got beaten a distance but bounced back in a Westspeed Platinum when running fourth behind Classic Rogue, Speedy Miss and Inflation. Luke Campbell takes weight off and she draws well. O’LARA’S PRINCE ran well last start behind Fire At Will who may well make the form look even stronger earlier in the day. SHOTGUN ROCA broke maiden status well and seemed to really appreciate the Kalgoorlie style of racing. ALL IN A DAY has the turn of foot to get herself out of trouble. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – MONEY TWIST WIN RACE 7 CREATOR is accepted for Belmont on Saturday but you’d be surprised if he didn’t end up here in the Terrra Drilling Kambalda Cup. Was able to win under 62kg last start, races on the speed, loves the dry and firm tracks and is the class runner of the field. Can either lead or box seat and should go close again. HERRON SAND is right up in grade going into the Kambalda Cup but drops right down to 54kg and is letting loose with an enormous turn of acceleration. She can ping off a dime and with the right run into it she is a live chance. LONG WEEKEND is hitting his straps in WA and the market is loving him. STRATOCREED a blow out. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 11 – 5 Suggested Bet – CREATOR EACHWAY RACE 8 FEUDING is simply a new horse under Nick Carapellotti. Big maiden winner, hugely impressive from near last behind Town Hall and then a strong second behind Seeable who he meets again here 2kg better and the weights and is drawn to nearly box seat following his every move. Think he can turn the tables. SEEABLE lumped 63kg last start, dominated on top of the speed and was strong through the line. How good are Brock Lewthwaite’s going on the Goldfields. DALSWINTON is drawn to get a lovely run. BILL THE BEE next best. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – FEUDING WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,6 2,3,4,6,8 1,5,6,9,11 1,9 Market Market
