Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 20, 2022May 23, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SAINTLY CITY should lead and win. First-up second over 1000m (beat main rival Better In Kit by 5L), second-up second over 1000m behind Madam Kisses (subsequent C1 winner and 60+ placed to Nowhiteflag), third-up finished fourth behind Zephyra (since won a 3yo 62+) and then last start pulled up with genuine excuses when finishing a long way off Hammarmill and Honey Dew. Form stand outs, leads and looks to have a bit on these. BETTER IN KIT will likely attempt to stalk his every move. If she can’t finish top three here it might be Better In Leonora for her. DAWN AMNESTY has been going well but thinking the new comers are on par with Vranyo who spanked her last start. READ THE ROOM on debut and trialled alright. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – SAINTLY CITY WIN RACE 2 HERO IN THE WIND looks likely to give Neville Parnham the second leg of a race to race maiden double. This maiden looks to have a bit more depth than the first but the last two runs of Hero In the Wind have been excellent. Flashed home behind Silver Bugg two starts ago when the blinkers went on and then finished only 4L off Ciscojoe, What A Prince and Fruit Loops in a genuinely run race. That maiden was 2L faster than provincial average, a great indicator that he’ll take real beating in Kalgoorlie. LEOCARDO is knocking on the door and ready to win one. Drops 1.5kg and is racing consistently. FAT ROY SLIM makes his debut and interesting to note that Kyra Yuill has seemingly elected to ride for SJ Miller over MR Peter Fernie. INFRINGEMENT MISS seems quite one paced but will roll along. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – HERO IN THE WIND WIN RACE 3 TAHITIAN RED has come back bigger and better this preparation for the all conquering Gary Bowen yard. So far this season Gary has had 15 runners for 7 winners, 46.7% strike rate and 204% POT. She should park right behind the speed (if not take it up) and prove too classy for them. Considering the way she exploded last start if she was to win again you could justify taking her to a Belmont midweeker. LINCOLNS LAW looks the logical danger on paper. In a race devoid of speed it’s probably either Tahitian Red or Lincoln’s Law who takes up the lead. Going well and a great use of the Cassey Martinan 3kg claim. IT’S A LANCE ran well second-up. Forget last start. TOWN HALL should be about ready to show his best. J.A Mason building. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – TAHITIAN RED WIN RACE 4 TALK IT UP was absolutely plunged in betting first-up. He found the front and then got things probably too easy. First 500m was run 7L slower than average and by the time he started to quicken Shadow Boom was right on top of him. Think he’s going to win a few races at the KBRC this preparation so happy to follow up with him and suggest he’s hard to beat again. DIVULGE is a new comer to WA and has his first start for Nicholas Thomas. Clearly there’s an opinion on the gelding with over 15 owners turning up to watch him trial last meeting and they were up and about when he beat 70+ type Little Hercules with his eyes closed. Watch. KEEP YOUR FEET is fresh, back in distance and in a new home. Never far from the winner. PETITE LA FEMME should get a soft run along the fence. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – TALK IT UP WIN RACE 5 TAJMALI is a nice mare for these 70+ country ratings races. Last preparation she won a 70+ 1200m at Kal under William Pike and then at the end of the preparation found herself in a 60+ 1000 in town at Ascot when winning by over a length. Races well enough fresh and should get across from the stick draw into a prominent position over the speed. OUR DANNI has lacked a killer blow so far this campaign but she maps to get a world perfect run one out and one back. YOYOS won the Westspeed Platinum Final two starts back at Ascot and gets right down in the weights here. PURE MAGNUS seems to run for Cassey Martinan. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – TAJMALI WIN RACE 6 KALLAROO was a tough watch last start. He ended up in a horrible position in running and by the time he got out and into the clear the race was all over in front of him. He still got to the line well and stepping out to a mile he can settle in the moving line and wind up into this three deep with cover. Hasn’t run a bad race for Freddo Brown and can continue that trend here. CUBAN TWIST looks like taking up a forward position in running and with the 3kg claim looks well weighted and well placed. Grows a leg in Kal. MEET JOE BLACK was going super before the saddle slipped last start. Forget he even went to the races. SASSATIONAL is in blistering form. Her last 600m of her last two have been off the charts. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – KALLAROO WIN RACE 7 ALTANI ran really well at her first start for Brian Curtis when third behind Little Ses and Whim Creek. Last start had a fair few excuses at various stages in the race and with the blinkers going on and a clear passage from barrier 1 she looms as a big hope in this. Think back to 1100m is her go and she can track the hot speed behind Jackpot Legend and Hilton. WHIM CREEK finished second in the same race Altani finished third and there was nothing between them. The barrier is the concern. Looks like 3 deep potential. HILTON comes back in distance and drops 2kg as well. HERRON SAND ran well fresh and the fact she stays in town rather than chases the riches of the $100,000 Sky Racing Final is a show of intent. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ALTANI WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5 2,3,5,8 1,2,4,6 1,2,3,4,5 Market Market
