Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 24, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RED DIRT BOY comes into this fresh off 28 days. Not a great deal of speed in this event and Lisa Staples could well be able to kick through and lead. Has been consistent all season and always gives a sight. NEW AMSTERDAM is the newcomer to the region and will have a lot of eyes having gone round short prices in provincial maidens. Query out on his level of ability but should be afforded every chance by Peroxide Pateman. NAUGHTY THOUGHTIES ran well last week. JACK’S FROST has had his fair share of chances but from the draw he must go close (again). Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – RED DIRT BOY WIN RACE 2 CAVALLER has his first start for a new stable. Tonnes of gear changes and even though beaten 8L in the trial on Monday actually seemed to be moving alight. Has run fourth to Significant Hero, Tradensia and Kitgum so could sneak under the radar of punters and run a cheeky race at any old quote. DAVEEDO and DO YOUR BEST both come from maidens last week where neither were disgraced. Slight leaning to Daveedo. SPIRITED LAD showed a glimpse behind Beat the Bro and Giant Leap but has struggled since. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – CAVALLER EACHWAY RACE 3 MOORUMBINE has had two runs down in Perth for Adam Durrant and now makes the trip up to Kalgoorlie. History says he likely stays in the region or is for sale but his two runs in have both had some merit. Steps to 1100 and from the inside draw should enjoy a soft run in a very open and even contest. NOT MY FIGHT looks a nice pick up for Freddo Brown and he makes some key gear adjustments. BRIGHT GLOW finally broke through last start and looks to be improving. STRASMORE should only improve on the fresh run. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MOORUMBINE WIN RACE 4 AMILLIONITE looked to have found a perfect race last weekend and didn’t let punters down. Stays in the C2 grade and should get another very economical run over the top of the speed. In form and should be going close again. LAVISTARR may be looking for further but headed towards the Kal 1760s she could be a profitable mare in the region. Regardless this is still winnable. WEMBLEY DAYZ probably put in his worst performance of his career last start but backing up off 7 days and leading is his go. STARALIGN won well last week but is a tough gate. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – AMILLIONITE WIN RACE 5 MAGIC WILL REIGN was the blog best last weekend and was a tough watch when getting held up until the winner was off and gone, flashing late for second. We’ll butter up off the 7 days and go again. Has been hitting the line well and from the draw should get an identical run (hopefully without the traffic) and go close to breaking through. SLUICE BOX was absolutely enormous last weekend but will need to be again with 60.5kg and barrier 10. With trainer Jeeps Thomas nursing a wing we’ll trust stable foreman Pedro has been sharing the round yard to keep her ticking over. CLASSI SURVIVOR is going round without a deal of luck. BLACKWOOD RIVER is 7 weeks between runs, drawn a gate and senior on. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – MAGIC WILL REIGN WIN RACE 6 MAJOR MAMBO (nee. Lacka) was a strong winner at Kalgoolie five starts ago. Hasn’t quite been able to recapture that form recently but two have been at Belmont and the other two when having a few minor excuses. Is a horse that the market tends to forget quickly and more than capable of bounding back in this grade. GLUTEN FREE has to be getting close and Pateman from the inside always a winning move. ALL MAN can sprint well fresh. CUBAN TWIST has been somewhat of a surprise packet this preparation but continues to go impressively through the grades. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAJOR MAMBO EACHWAY RACE 7 ANOTHER DEMON is particularly well placed back into 58+ grade. Only two starts ago was able to win a 70+ over 1400m beating subsequent 70+ winner Watto’s Fury. Does now have weight to carry but his regular rider Laqdar Ramoly sticks and his last eight runs have all been in higher grade. KNIGHT TEMPEST wasn’t quite himself last weekend, worth forgiving and following up. NICKLAUS should improve with the rail to follow. PASTRY can not draw a gate but is still going well. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – ANOTHER DEMON WIN RACE 8 DIABLERIE only had three runs for Summer Dickson last preparation, first-up was beaten 5L in a m66+ and then into a c70+ ran a fast finishing second to Potent Secret. Then back to town into an unsuitable 72+ before being tipped out. This looks a great race for him and an excellent use of Madi Derrick’s 2kg claim. Should give a sight and likely opens a price. WATTO’S FURY is simply as honest and consistent as they come and never runs a bad race. He’ll work forward from a wide gate and still give cheek. SAMMY THE BOSS can fly fresh and off a soft run. HAYAN LAD always a winning chance in this grade. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – DIABLERIE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3 2,3,4,6,7 1,4,6,7 1,2,3,4,6,7,12 Market Market
