Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 15, 2026May 15, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CALL ME FROSTY will go around ridiculously short in this 1100m maiden. Ran third on a Saturday beaten half a length four back, ran third to She’s Hot when going too fast for his own good three back, ran second on a Saturday to Watto’s Mark three back, less than 1.5L off Searchin’ Times (won four on the bounce) two back and last time out finished sixth behind Gypsy Rhyme (C3 winner) and Basset Hound. Should be too classy. MAD SPITFIRE continues to knock on the door but might run into a handy one here. RULE THE REALM has gone close on a couple of occasions in country maidens. WHERE’S THE HORSE next best. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – CALL ME FROSTY WIN RACE 2 DANCEWITHME is another likely very short priced favourite for Peter Fernie and Lucy Fiore as they again look set to dominate proceedings at Kalgoorlie on Sunday. Most recently ran second to Stylin’ who as a highly impressive winner again last weekend to frank the form and is going to head to the $100,000 Final at Belmont Park and have plenty of admirers. NISTIRITH should really just keep looking for these C1 / C2 1100m races at the minute. Doesn’t seem to get any further than that but will no doubt be hard to run down. DEEPLY ROOTED powered away from rivals to break his maiden in style. Can go on with it now. GOD’S WRATH likely fourth? Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – DANCEWITHME WIN RACE 3 DOOR BUSTER heads to Kalgoorlie and this looks an extremely winnable race for her. She’s only a C1 filly but that means in a 58+ she gets real weight relief down to 54.5kg and with Holly Nottle aboard she’ll be very popular with punters. Got held up at a crucial stage last start in a fast run 1000 at Ascot and could have finished much closer than the 3.2L beaten margin. CHIPILLY is back to 1100m – that’s the unknown in the middle of the prep, but she’s been going well all season so far and looks like she’ll be winning her way through to 70+ Grade by season’s end. THE SHOWVINIST was really good at his WA debut and then just a little flat second-up (maybe harsh?). Back in grade nicely. NATURAL GEM was a nice pick up for Neville Newton last season. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DOOR BUSTER WIN RACE 4 JAYASHREE gives Peter Fernie four favourites in the first four races and on paper all of the four look to be odds on? And this is one of them. Won a C1 1400 last weekend when crunched in betting and 7 days later will go around in a C2 1625. He only rises 1kg week to week and looks destined to get a near identical run in transit. Same result? RIVERCREST MAGIC is one who could improve at odds. Hasn’t had a lot go right recently and did make an encouraging start the prep. MYSTICAL WISDOM is yet to really hit his straps this prep but the mile will suit. RELIABLE IMAGE was much better last week but it’s hard to see her turning the tables on Jayashree. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – JAYASHREE WIN RACE 5 PRAWNS ELEVEN carried 61.5kg last weekend and was solid enough into sixth behind Boab Boy. Think this is the kind of race where they could elect to ride him for speed again and in a world in which Rocky Cheung was able to find the top then it could well be a very different scenario. Don’t mind this set up for him. DON’T WAIT FOR LUCK got the job done last start in a 58+ 1400. Comes up into 70+ company and is drawn to get all the favours. Could well be a fifth winner on the program for MR Peter Fernie too. Big day on paper. SCOTTISH LAIRD can run a cheeky race fresh. Don’t discount him at odds. TREASURED QUEEN is racing a little below her best so far this campaign. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – PRAWNS ELEVEN WIN RACE 6 IDEALLY was always going to need everything to go her way last week at 1200m and nothing really went right for Austin Galati who got held up in traffic at a really crucial stage on a mare who was racing at a distance short of her best. On the 7 day spin, out to a more suitable 1400 and Lucy Fiore jumps aboard. MONTY ZOOMER was ridden perfectly by Jason Li last weekend and is the perfect 4kg claimers horse. Straight to the front and then let him run. Can wobble up the track in the home straight but is still strong late. The runner-up backed up off 4 days to York on Thursday and duly saluted to frank the form. Logical (only?) danger. HIGH PRECISION has been going super for ages. Just the draw hurts. SECRICITY will need a split at some stage but can sprint well at this level. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – IDEALLY WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 4,6 1 1,2 1,6 Market Market
