Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on October 9, 2020October 9, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 CAN HE HUSSEL was the big black booker from the opening meeting when afforded no luck through and still looming the winner. Should only improve for the outing, draws the inside gate to lead them up and just as a little added bonus for punters the King of Geraldton Troy Turner jumps on. Impossible not to like him. FETCH MORE AMMO has hit a bit of form and can race far closer in the small field. GET OVER IT is knocking on the door but hasn’t won for a long, long time. PEKO is yet to fire a shot in WA. Pateman on = worth considering. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – CAN HE HUSSEL WIN Race 2 INVICTUS DOMINI is a massive brute of a horse and has always shown well above average ability. Trainer Adrian River elected to trial him rather than race him on opening day and this is probably the reason that Mitchell Pateman goes to Geraldton for a second venture in the last 3 years. Trial was soft and looks very hard to beat. BRUNY ISLAND is an 8 year old maiden but has always had something to offer. Looks the obvious danger on paper. DENZOE was a very quiet trial. Keep an eye on her. YAMATAI was given every mortal hope last start and didn’t have any excuse or turn of foot. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – INVICTUS DOMINI WIN Race 3 NO STOPPING ME NOW was a tough watch for punters last start when held up until the last 150m when the race looked over. Did a super job to accelerate off a dime and get within a nose of the winner. Thinking he can settle right over the top of the speed here and prove hard to beat. KOHLEE showed a lot of talent at trials but didn’t really fire a shot in the debut campaign. New stable, first-up no trial, keep safe. DEPARTURES wasn’t a bad run on debut and worth seeing how he goes into the preparation. ENTERPRISE was backed as if unbeatable first-up. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – NO STOPPING ME NOW WIN Race 4 FALSE STATEMENT is astutely placed by Tiarrna Robertson’s travelling stable. Is a query at 1400m and yet the last three have all been great. Comes from a high rating 0MWLY midweeker at Belmont to a c68+ in Geraldton. Drops back in trip and draws an ideal gate. Provided he doesn’t miss the kick he’ll take a stack of beating. ABU DHABI had to work really hard to cross last start and was brave to hold onto fourth. He should lead a lot easier here and can always give cheek. QUALITY FAIR ran out of his skin first-up and the old boy showed he’ll be winning races this preparation. DIABLERIE gets under the radar. All the recent runs for Summer Dickson have been good. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – FALSE STATEMENT WIN Race 5 REBELLIONAIRE was arguably a good thing beat last start when held up at varying stages of the race and most critically in the home straight when only getting out in the last 100-50m when the race was over. Victoria Cover picks up the ride with Snaggers Sardelic making his way down to Team Wolfe in Albany and it’s a great opportunity to solidify a spot with the Hammarquist yard. OLIVIA KNOWS was good enough first-up no trial to suggest that second-up she’ll take beating. Draws a gate to enjoy the right run. PROPELLER was brilliant when set alight by Keshaw Dhurun. SHOWZALI has a lot of weight for a small mare. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – REBELLIONAIRE WIN Race 6 ANGRY ANNIE loves racing at the Geraldton Turf Club and burst onto the scene last year when Madi Derrick first got her licence. Last start left a bit to be desired but if you go back through her wet track form she can definitely be forgiven. Back to her ‘home ground’ she should be going close. MASTER SPLINTER is well placed and drops back in grade after a solid outing in 70+ grade. MIS ELLMYA was ridden perfectly by Pateman first-up and Victoria Cover has big shoes to fill. CORPORATE TRADER was dominant in her trial and a quality mare on her day. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ANGRY ANNIE WIN Race 7 TRADE THUNDER is the third of the Tiarnna Robertson horses making his way up the Brand Highway to the Crayfish Coast and he also looks well placed and hard to beat. Lightly raced and progressive. Had a trial back in June and then unsighted since so is first-up no trial but backing Troy Turner to give him the run of the race and his raw ability to get him home. WILLHEGO WEST was a barnstorming winner last start and can go on with it now. SANS LE SOU had a few breathing related gear changes last start and really paddled the last 50m. MEGADON is building and draws perfectly. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – TRADE THUNDER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4,6 1,2,5,9,10 1,2,3,4,6 1,3,5,6 Market Market
