Scott Embry’s Sunday Esperance Preview Posted on February 28, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 WESTERNIZE ran second to Money Matters as a 2 year old when last in work and then fourth to Hooroo Lads, Time to Sizzle and Chatter Session. That is super form for an Esperance maiden and David Harrison looks like having an enormous day. PROMISSION hit the line impressively on debut. INDISISVE went close at 100-1 when running second to Belle Of Liberty last preparation. Keep safe. FOXHOOD is finding it very hard to win but dropping back in trip a positive. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – WESTERNIZE WIN Race 2 MAY KEEP HIM has been the target of support at all three runs in this preparation. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and with a senior rider on going to give him a go from the perfect alley. GRAND OPENING has shades on and could give cheek from the front. SLUICE BOX has really improved last two starts and should go close. CHOSEN ART has promised to win a maiden all preparation but so far has left loyal followers thinking ‘sweet’ maybe next time. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – MAY KEEP HIM EACHWAY Race 3 NICKLAUS was a good effort first-up in a strong rating race behind Magniforce. If there is a vulnerability in the armor of Salvara then he could be the one to expose it. Plenty of speed should ensure Brad Parnham gets in somewhere. SALVARA went to town last start and was 40-1 at the 600 when looking gone. She found again late and was not disgraced at all. OUTER DETENTION is going well and could sneak under the radar. BOLD VICTORY going better than paper form suggests. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – NICKLAUS WIN Race 4 TAMPERING FALLS could well find the front here. Is a little bit of speed drawn in the middle of the line which may see him crossed but if so he should position up leaders back and can give this evenly graded affair a shake. INDIAN CHANT was good last start after doing it very tough. Maiden win was strong and looks to ahe improved in the care of Mr Peter Fernie. BUFF MAN drawn the inside with a 3kg claim is a cheeky chance from 3 back the fence. SCREAM IN BLUE just over a month between runs is capable. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – TAMPERING FALLS EACHWAY Race 5 MASCHINO MISS should be winning and winning well. Last start ran fourth behind Flower of War after setting a reasonably strong tempo on a day where the fence wasn’t ideal. Paul Harvey on, down in grade, winner at Esperance last season. She looks the clear cut winner. SAMMY THE BOSS won well for Pateman three starts ago and does run for him. ABU DHABI will leave no stone unturned. If it’s a leaders kind of day he’ll take catching. PENALTY POINT has really hit form and is attacking the line. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MASCHINO MISS WIN Race 6 EXCARO is a very speedy mare who returns to the races fresh, without a trial, for the travelling Dave Smith camp from Kalgoorlie. Was a stiff 4th in last year’s Kambalda Cup behind Pym’s Royale. If she jumps she should be right over the speed and hard to beat. MAGNIFORCE has a real X-Factor about him. Expecting Chris Graham will be looking to hold Excaro out early. LADY LE JEAN has always had the ability but struggled to race consistently. Penny looks to have finally dropped. DRIFTWOOD GIRL will need some serious luck from the gate. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – EXCARO WIN Race 7 THE CAT RATCHER ran fourth to Morning Song with 59kg in a Saturday Graduation staying race only three starts ago. Two horror gates last two starts have seen him settle last and finish nearly last. Blinkers on, Paul Harvey on, drawn a gate and into a C2 50+. Picks himself. ALL MAN was a replay watchers run last start and Pateman goes on. DEEL RED should be right over the speed and run well. PRINCE HAL is knocking on the door for another win. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – THE CAT RATCHER WIN Race 8 MEDIA BARON is so perfectly placed to win his second Country Cup after winning last season at Geraldton. From the inside gate expecting Turner will let him flop out of the machine and then work his passage slowly to the outside. His last two wins have rated super and he looks a stand out in the Esperance Cup of 2020. PUSH TO PASS gets in perfectly with 54kg. He is a sneaky chance after hitting form. SUPERIOR SMILE ran third in the Narrogin Cup, second in the Albany Cup and now contests his third Country Cup in as many weeks. UNIVERSAL MAE looks the best of the local hopes. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 4 – 12 Suggested Bet – MEDIA BARON WIN Race 9 MAJOR MAMBO (Lacka) ran a strong second first-up to Salvara. That is obviously a strong form reference race for this. The mile is in his favour, Pateman sticks, he loves Esperance and usually runs just as well second-up as he does first-up. Should be a safe investment in the last. BENTLEY’S BROTHER and RECAPITULATE are both going extremely well for Helen Harding and there isn’t much between the pair. KEEPER MEAN is close to winning another one. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 13 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAJOR MAMBO WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,4 1,2,5,6 3 2,3,4,5,7,13 Market Market
