Scott Embry’s Sunday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 29, 2025August 29, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 KIMBERLEY CURRENCY is a 22 start maiden but the Ash Maley yard is on fire and he did win a recent 1000m trial on the grass at Belmont leading into his return. He’s got speed which is a big help on the dirt and even bigger for him is that he’s got Tash Faithfull who continues to dominate the country racing scene. CHEST OUT SWAGGER has been freshened, changes yard and comes back in distance. WESTRIVER DYNIQUE is a 6 year old at start two but the Lark Hill trial win was good and has only 54kg after the claim for Sharni Webster. SCARY MARY showed a bit of dash one day at Narrogin and returns without a trial. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – KIMBERLEY CURRENCY WIN RACE 2 BIG SHOTS was super at his Broome debut behind Universal Playboy on a day where it was near impossible to make any ground and then at his second Broome outing he went to the Pearl Classic when jumping a $7 chance and beating half the field home when fourth. Drops back int o a 56+ and after the claim looks well suited. SIMPLE LOGIC ran a bottler in the Minilya Sprint behind star Carnarvon sprinter Dirty Chai but hasn’t raced to the same level since. THE COOLAKIN KING is deep into a campaign but continues to run honest races on speed. WISE WORDS is always thereabouts. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – BIG SHOTS WIN RACE 3 STREET MASCHINO should slide across into a commanding spot and at his last encounter with key rival Kings Sicario beat him home by nearly 7L. The Broome form is typically stronger than the Carnarvon form (don’t hate the player) and back to a mile looks a big tick for him. KINGS SICARIO should actually find making ground at Carnarvon easier than what it was in Broome. He was getting miles off them at Broome and to make up that much ground is nearly impossible at most meetings. FELLAFROMDOWNUNDER worked around them in the early stages to take up a prominent spot in running but couldn’t quite sustain the run over the 1700. TRADED CROWN has teased in recent meetings. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – STREET MASCHINO WIN RACE 4 OSCAR CHARLIE is produced first-up, no trial onto the dirt and think that the 46+ and 52+ wins with big weights at Narrogin will measure up here. He’s a big horse who should handle the conditions and looks nicely placed. CHEEKY CHARLOTTE is flying on the dirt. Her run two back behind a flying Gold Spy was enormous out four and five wide and then she won last start purely and simply because Tash Faithfull outrode her rivals. PRINCE RAGNAR gets some weight relief after lumping 61kg first-up. If you were confident he would lead against the fence he’d nearly be the one to beat. SOARING SOLO won brilliantly last start. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – OSCAR CHARLIE WIN RACE 5 DIVINE MERCY gives local owner Barry Evans a wonderful look in at a Peter Evans Memorial and then onwards onto the Carnarvon Cup afterwards. Won the Kimberley Cup beating Striking Fella (winner of the Cable Beach Caravan Park Cup) and then went onto the Broome Cup when jumping a $9 chance. Fit, firing, well weighted and drawn to wind up into it. JIDDO is coming out of only a 56+ but did extend powerfully late and through the line. WAR CLASS has turned the clock back and won his last two. CRYSTAL VAIN has 61kg over 1700. He’s a ripper but that’s a serious task. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – DIVINE MERCY WIN RACE 6 LACEVINSKY was no better than three deep the trip last start and fought on okay all things considered. Natika Riordan jumps back on, he’s back out to 1400m and if he can cross (big if) he’ll be hard to run down. Needs to get to at least the breeze. PLATO OR PLOMO won’t be an easy ride for a 4kg claimer but he’s also quite a simple ride in a sense: he’ll go back to last, he’ll track up in the three/four deep line and pull to the outside. WESTERN IMPACT has been in good form all campaign and is finally enjoying dirt racing. IMAGE OF PRO pushed Gold Spy last start. Great form reference. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – LACEVINSKY WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 4 1,4,7 4,7 1,2 Market Market
