Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on February 14, 2025February 14, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LATER ALLIGATOR won well on debut in a country maiden at Albany and then more than held his own in a strong 3 year old 1400m behind All Grunt, Deel Her In and Precious God. Back to a C1, Brad Parnham on, small field. Think he might have a bit more upside than these. 3 runs in 3 weeks the only concern. KAMAKAZI SHOOTER drops in weight after the ZJP claim and can lead uncontested. VENTURO won well last start. NORTH FACE was fair on Wednesday. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LATER ALLIGATOR WIN RACE 2 GINGER MORPHEUS was popular on debut and after absorbing plenty of pressure from start to finish was left a sitting duck to be run down. Back in distance, better for the experience and drawn to either lead or park on the speed – should prove hard to beat. PRINCE comes through the Bosisto trial which was franked on Thursday and will no doubt find this more suitable than his debut. SESH trialled well for his return to the races. IZABEAST won his trial narrowly but there was a further 4L back to a handy horse in Pharoah Show. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – GINGER MORPHEUS WIN RACE 3 FANTAXTIC won a 1000m barrier trial leading into his debut at Belmont Park where he settled rearwards, never really got into the contest, yet still only finished 3L from the winner Golden Dore. Tipped out, spelled and has again impressed at trials. Happy to trust the eye and follow him through into this maiden. ALITTLE SCOONER finished second in the straight 1000m trial to very sharp debut winner Galactic Empire. SUN KOSI does no work. LADY COCO gave plenty of cheek last start. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – FANTAXTIC WIN RACE 4 PHAROAH SHOW ran third on debut on a Heavy at Pinjarra behind subsequent metro winners Bondi Bay and Arcadia Park. At the end of his four start preparation he finished within 4L of Perfect Chant on a Saturday and thought his recent trial down the straight was soft. Michael Grantham fresh off a treble on Thursday and looks to produce another handy one here. DAINTY ROSE the big danger off the back of a slashing debut run into second behind Nicely Played. UNGOVERNED had excuses on debut and now has shades. PROFOUND BENEFIT savaged the line at Geraldton. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – PHAROAH SHOW WIN RACE 5 MODELISTIC ran third first-up at 1600m behind Barra Mundy and She’s Perfection. She’s Perfection was $3.10 into $1.50 on Thursday at Bunbury and while she got rolled it’s still a sign that punters are going to be happy to follow that through as a form reference. Second-up, fitter and shouldn’t be far away. QUICK COOKIE can bounce to the top, stay out of trouble and Joey Azzopardi is a very good front running rider. SHE’S RESOLUTE continues to whack away. She lacks a turn of foot. SHAZAIR comes through the Twilight Tale race. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – MODELISTIC WIN RACE 6 DASHING ERIKA is coming out of a maiden and bypasses C1 straight into a C3, however, she was ultra impressive late and through the line and gave the impression that she could work her way quickly through the lower grades. CANNY CONI deserves to win one. Has been there abouts all preparation, including in higher grades. WARRALEA LASS bolted in last start over 1230m. In for a good prep. BERNBRAE ran great races first-up and second-up last prep at 1600m. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – DASHING ERIKA WIN RACE 7 FANZ is knocking on the door and this is another wonderful opportunity for him. Fourth in a C3 at Ascot last start behind This’ll Show Ya, Salt Lake Shake and Star Power and in a race where they stopped the clock nearly 4L faster than average. This is weaker. LOT HO trialled really well for his return. MOORDITJ BOY hasn’t raced since the Magic Millions of 2024, however, his recent straight 1000m trial was handy. HYMNS OF ELADDAIR didn’t come up last preparation. He’s better than that. Numbers: 5 – 11 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – FANZ WIN RACE 8 CATCH THE RED EYE finished third behind Rocking Gem and Alot of Roses in a 0MWLY, second behind Magnasonic in a Bunbury C5 and then raced well outside the handicap in a 72+ behind Ice Pick Nick, Sonoftheboss and Desennea. Back into his right grade he can bounce back. SUPPORTIVE won first-up last preparation in a 60+ 1000 at Belmont Park. This is a nice race selection for her to return in. UNDER INFLUENCE is well placed if he runs here, but is he an apprentice’s horse? TOO MUCH TALK hasn’t raced since October 2022. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – CATCH THE RED EYE WIN Market Market
