Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on June 28, 2024June 28, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ZEEZEA should be going close to breaking through here. Second in a 0MWLY first-up behind a sharp filly in Playing Games and then has run minors in maidens at her next two behind Rapid Rock (since placed to My Hidden Universe) and to Uukhai (who had run second Joker’s Grin). Right form, right race, just needs some luck from a tricky draw. NATURAL GEM hasn’t been seen for nearly 7 weeks since her debut second to subsequent C3 winner Lifeisbutadream. TOURETTO was chasing a long way out behind Prospector’s Pick last start. May be better with cover here. CAPABLE ANGEL next best. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – ZEEZEA WIN RACE 2 I’M CRAFY finished fourth in a winner producing maiden on debut behind Joker’s Grin (subsequent 3 year old 0MWLY victor), Uukhai (subsequent maiden winner) and Rissoles (subsequent maiden winner). Strong form, gains plenty of experience from his debut and should be right in the mix. FOXY RASCAL ran third to Dance Boss on debut (goes around favourite in a 72+ on Saturday at Belmont) and was a recent trial winner when sitting third in running and gliding through late. Looks to float but has plenty of talent. CORRECT CHOICE is probably better suited over further but was sharp enough in his 950m trial win. TEABISCUIT is quick and now has a claim. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – I’M CRAFY EACHWAY RACE 3 BUZZ THE TOWER trialled over 1200m on Monday and was very impressive. He was green and raw and very wayward but he trialled as well as (arguably better than) Investment Strategy (m80 and winner of 4 from 9). This is not a deep maiden at all and he looks to have a stack of natural talent. Big watch. FLYING CHOUX was ridden out in his 950m trial but I like that for a horse who resumes at 1400. Hard to miss the debut performance from a mile off them back in March. Danger. MARBLE GOLD was a great effort last start after being held up. DEVILS I tries hard but has had a fair few chances. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 10 – 4 Suggested Bet – BUZZ THE TOWER WIN RACE 4 BIG SWOOP and SEE YA CHAMP both come through the same race on 12 June which was this track/grade over 2231. They meet again and going to use that as the obvious form reference to follow. With a 2kg weight swing going to side up with BIG SWOOP who has been promising to win one all campaign. SEE YA CHAMP was 49 days between runs last start but powered away from them. Reproduces and she probably wins again. WEIGHTMAN wasn’t too bad in that same race albeit a few lengths behind that pair. QUEEN OF JERUSALEM is the best horse in this race but woefully out of form. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – BIG SWOOP WIN RACE 5 CHERRY CAN RUN finally broke through last start after a string of minor placings. She got the better of Kisses From Kelly who was backed as if unbeatable at his next outing and duly saluted (and could well further frank the form at Belmont on Saturday). Think she can win again with a big weight pull on her main danger. LINDEN’S GOLD looms as that main danger after contesting a deep Saturday 60+ Graduation last weekend. He seems to appreciate being ridden cold and gets that chance here. STRIKING FELLA and BEAT THE BRO are both honest types who should be there abouts. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHERRY CAN RUN WIN RACE 6 BE OPTIMISTIC gets a 1kg weight pull on both Marocchino and Let’s Galahvant from the Strickland Stakes and off a more traditional fortnight day spacing should be the big improver. She was 5 weeks between runs heading into last start after going to South Australia and back and under the SWP conditions looks to really get her chance. LET’S GALAHVANT is a last start WFA winner dropping half a kilo into SWP. Small field suits him and he’s in career best form (again). MAROCCHINO will again lead, control and dictate. If it’s a leader’s paradise he’ll become very popular. ADMIRATION EXPRESS looking like she wants ground now. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BE OPTIMISTIC WIN RACE 7 SAINTLY CITY is accepted for Saturday and Sunday but this looks a great race for him on paper. He’s jump and run and shouldn’t have any issue finding the fence here. This does look lengths easier than Saturday but of course he’s no guarantee of scratching to run here. Wait and see. JELLY CAN RUN demolished them last start and was powerful through the line. Drawn to get back but he was super impressive. HOSTILE TALK went back from a wide gate last start and found the line well. He’s again drawn awkwardly however. TARARUA was held up at stages at his WA debut down the straight. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – SAINTLY CITY WIN RACE 8 PRINCE OF SANTOS struck a Heavy8 first-up in the Objectify/Sentimental Belle race and then went to a 3 year old 1200 that contained Objectify, Our Rocky Bay, Justabittapress, Lost City and King’s Honour. Back to a C1, blinkers re-attached (only win in shades) and drawn to get every chance. Looks a big improver. FEARLESS TALK will look to roll to the top and is continually knocking on the door. Only a matter of time until she wins one. PROCESSIO got the job done at $1.20 last start in a maiden but it was hardly convincing. The runner-up was 200-1 and the third horse was beaten 4.2L in a maiden on Wednesday at Belmont. PLAYING QUEST got held up last start. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – PRINCE OF SANTOS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,7 1,2,5 2,3,4,6,7 2,3,4,6,7,11 Market Market
