Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on January 3, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DARK MISSION put the writing on the wall on debut hitting the line powerfully in a fast run 1200. Far better suited at 1400 and the Cerise and White youngsters tend to improve sharply first-up to second-up. Looks the winner but also looks like being deep in the red. LONSDALE LADY has put in two encouraging runs so far in a short career. GINGER BREADHOUSE looks like needing the full 1400 but trailed alright. RUN LIKE FIRE an improver at a price. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – DARK MISSION WIN Race 2 SWEET STRAWBERRY trialed very well and then race a nice race on debut. Guesteen could be an above average filly and expecting the form to hold up. Draws well, steps up in trip and Pike could dominate this Bunbury card. RUBILICOUS ROSE has had 0 luck in two starts when held up at crucial stages at key moments in both outings. LONROCK was backed hard at Albany on debut but got too far out of his ground. STAADEN can run a race off the back the recent trial effort. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SWEET STRAWBERRY WIN Race 3 MIDNIGHT BLUE was the target of big money on debut and by the time she got into the clear the bird had flown and the race was all over. She was finishing very hard and up to a mile looks capable of sitting near last and reeling them in. Hopefully the field size sees her open in the black (could be wishful thinking). THE ROAN RANGER drops back in trip after looking like he struggled to stick the staying trip. Previous effort chasing Too Fat Too Slow had merit. BRAVE CONTENDER continues to go round short and is yet to run a flattering race in the preparation. FAIR ONE next best and honest on speed campaigner. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT BLUE WIN Race 4 TRUTIARA could well complete the early Pike quaddie as she looks to break her maiden at start number four. First-up did some work and was chasing a fair way out. That race was over 3L faster than average and both Indian Chant and Holy Ghost have their fair share of ability. PICK YOUR BATTLES draws another horror alley and was not quick out of the machine first-up. Stacks of ability but does a bit wrong. CARMURLEA has speed and ran a big race on debut at Narrogin. INDIGO WILD draws to do no work in the run. Numbers: 11 – 1 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRUTIARA WIN Race 5 MONTAGNA could be first horse to put a dent in the massive smile of William Pike who looks like having a field day on Sunday. Has been building toward another win all campaign and ran well last start behind the progressive Alimentaria. Gets his chance. BARBIE WILL DO backs up off 8 days and drops in grade. Has always looked a staying mare in the making. MAGIC LAS VEGAS needs the 2200 and needs to lead. Gets that chance here early in the preparation. LAVISTARR has the great man in the saddle and blinkers on. Keep very safe. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MONTAGNA WIN Race 6 ICE TRADE was a strong maiden winner two starts ago and then went close to snatching a C1 when nailed in the shadows by Geographe Bay. Reunites with Chris Parnham and the Parnz/Lane Train strike rate is phenomenal #choochoo. KITGUM won well last start when left alone in front. Can continue on his strong form. WILD GALAH and stablemate BLAISZEN CAZAH are both as honest and consistent as they come. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – ICE TRADE WIN Race 7 LADIES OF LONDON has been knocking on the door all preparation and at her last two has run into some nice animals progressing through the grades, namely Cocky Dodd and Tinto Belle. This race doesn’t look to have the same depth or quality and she should get one on the board. MISINFORMED BEN was strong last start but draws a little sticky. SALCITY looked like a 1000m speedster when last in work. Interesting to see how he goes at 1200. YADREAMIN’ doesn’t run a bad race but can find traffic. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – LADIES OF LONDON WIN Race 8 AMELIE ARGOT is a lovely pick-up ride for Kristy Bennett. Draws a nice gate, is a C3 winner fresh last preparation and resumes first-up, no trial for a powerful yard. Speed drawn absolutely everywhere in the line and she should have her midfield smoking the pipe. CITICHANT trialed very impressively recently and has always been on the edge of a Saturday grade mare. PERCEIVE is looking for further but they’ll be sizzling early. PINK ‘N’ GRAY gets last crack. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 11 – 8 Suggested Bet – AMELIE ARGOT EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,5 3 4 FIELD Market Market
