Scott Embry’s Saturday Roebourne Preview Posted on July 22, 2021July 22, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DEMERITISE may well settle fourth in the field of four but hard to not be impressed with her effort only 7 days ago when lunging in the final stride and just missing behind talented 56+ commodity Bitovemu. Prior to that comes from the Tumut River/Viotti race where she was hard in the market and missed away and lost all chance. Small field suits her style of racing. VIOTTI was beaten almost 2L by the stablemate last start but gets a 4.5kg weight swing with the apprentice going on. Makes things interesting. TUMUT RIVER should hold the front from the inside and can definitely go back to back. CHENGDU not impossible by any stretch of the imagination. 4 horses, 4 chances. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DEMERITISE WIN RACE 2 CAN’TCATCHTHIS will take serious running down in this 1100m scamper. Bounces straight to the front from the inside gate and has pace to burn. Only two starts for Tom Pike and both have been highly impressive. Won her maiden over 1100m by a space and will take luck out of the equation. I HOPE YOU DANCE split Tumut River and Viotti in a 56+ last start. Clearly has the stronger race form than a maiden winner but does find it hard to win races. TOP POCKET is a perennial maiden who needs to find a mile race by the looks. AUTOMATIC similarly – a maiden. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – CAN’TCATCHTHIS WIN RACE 3 ANVIL GREEN gets his chance in the weakest race he has seen for a while. Going back three starts ago in a 68+ at Roebourne he finished second behind War Ksar at 1400m and since then has gone to a mile at Roebourne when only beaten 3L by Plead The Fifth and War Ksar and 7 days ago to Port Hedland when left chasing throughout. Small field suits, grade suits and after the claim is well weighted. Gets his chance the old boy. MISTINGUETTE can find the front and control the speed. Last time she did that she was a big winner. LAMPLIGHT LILI is a hard mare to follow. Has huge ability but hates the kickback. NOBEL IMAGE is in great form and thrives on racing. 5 runners, 4 winning chances. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – ANVIL GREEN WIN RACE 4 ARTICULATOR got out to a mile last start and really appreciated the time and space to wind up into the race. Concedes Rivarola a 4kg weight swing but did beat him by 3.5L and actually get a half kilo in his favour for beating home Flirty Friars. Should be hard to beat again now that he’s won one. RIVAROLA is the class horse and after the claim for Snaggers Sardelic is the weight horse in the race. FLIRTY FRIARS is starting to hit form and this is a nice winnable race. VITAL TOUCH is out sharply in trip. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ARTICULATOR WIN RACE 5 ENTERPRISE is going really well for Tania Guy and looks to have found a winnable race. Finished third behind Femme Pusissante and Bitovemu two starts back and last weekend was wide throughout in a far tougher race than this behind Sixpence Spent. Can find the front here and take running down. FEMME PUISSANTE has been a model of consistency over the last 3 months. 35 days between runs a little unknown but if all is well with her, she’s the testing material. MAKFI AMOUR hasn’t quite brought his Geraldton grass form to the NW having finished 4L off them at Port Hedland, 2.5L off them at Roebourne and 7L off them after leading lasts start. BACKTOBEVERLEY gave serious cheek last week. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ENTERPRISE WIN RACE 6 SHACKLETON is going great guns for Darryn Pateman who makes the long trip across to Roebourne for the Sprint. Winner in style at Port Hedland three starts ago and then last weekend went close at Derby when unable to reel in speedy stablemate King of Planets. From the draw should enjoy the run of the race and is racing very well. MISS MANDY is thriving on the dirt and has gone to a new level in the last month. If she finds the front, she’ll be there a long, long way. COUNTER DRIVE is highly consistent and if this was 1400m would be the on top selection. SCOTOPIA an improver from the draw. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – SHACKLETON WIN RACE 7 WAR KSAR looks the one in the Cup. Has to lump 60kg top weight but is no stranger to weight, in fact one day at Albany he was beaten a nose with 63kg so there is no issues there. The form around himself and Plead The Fifth has been the strongest all season and with her out he looks the winner. CLEOS AFTERPARTY brings alternate form and while rising sharply in distance is going well. MONTAGNA was a sharp improver last start but gets no weight relief on War Ksar. PROCEEDS OF CRIME can give cheek if finding the front. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – WAR KSAR WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2 1,2,3,4 3,5,6 1 Market Market
