Scott Embry’s Saturday Port Hedland Preview Posted on May 17, 2019May 17, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 GROOVERSHAKER has another big scenery change. 9 days ago he racing in Pinjarra and then he has been trucked off to Port Hedland. Tom Pike should pick up a few with the big fellow. SIRIUS PROSPECT could be the lead with Haddon engaged. FOXY LAD would give cheek if he found the front. MISS HARLEY QUINN normally goes well in races of this nature. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – GROOVERSHAKER WIN Race 2 SOMEDAY ONE DAY carries 60.5kg after the claim but is very much the class conveyance in this field. No doubt will have a long campaign culminating in the outer country Cups but should sprint well here. CORRESPONDENCE is a 2 time winner at the track and never missed the place. Big danger. CASINO GLEAM and DEDAY can fight out the minors. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SOMEDAY ONE DAY WIN Race 3 PASADONNA should lead or box seat from the draw and her overall form sees her right in the mix. If she can handle the track conditions and reproduces her first-up effort she’ll be mighty hard to beat. BALLYFIN HOUSE and HASHTAG LAD both have the huge benefit of track experience. Both are grand old campaigners for Dean Cocivera. JESTER FERRARI improves off the Carnarvon performance. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – PASADONNA WIN Race 4 HEROIC WORDS and PRINCESS SHARI are both having their first start for team Pike. They will both be winning maidens soon and leaning slightly towards Heroic Words even though first choice jock Col Haddon has elected to ride Princess Shari. TRUSTING STARLIGHT ran well at Carnarvon. JUST DAVE should improve for the run. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – HEROIC WORDS WIN Race 5 BODEGA BEAU was backed strongly at Carnarvon and was a tough watch for those who jumped aboard. Knocked around, held up for running, squeezed against the fence. Big run in defeat and should make up for it here. VOLKSWAGON FRANK should win his fair share of races in the region and his fresh effort at Narrogin was super. THE DAINTREE battled on well at Carnarvon last weekend. BENNY BEAU next best. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – BODEGA BEAU WIN Race 6 DAD SAID should be just about ready. Has only won the one race from 8 attempts at Port Hedland but was strong over the 1000m at Carnarvon. Should sit just off the leaders and go close here. ANVIL GREEN is the Port Hedland specialist. He is the winner of 7 from 9 and is sure to be hard to beat. BALROV and BALLIDU BOMBER both have speed to run cheeky races. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – DAD SAID WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,5 5,6 5 3,4 Market Market
