Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on February 12, 2026February 12, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PLATINUM SHOT steps into her highest graded race of her career as a 5 year old mare but since Holly Nottle has jumped aboard she has completely changed up her racing pattern and is thriving on being ridden for speed. She’ll carry only 52.5kg and can either lead or stalk Bruce Almighty and from either position she looks hard to beat with the light weight. ANTIQUE STAR can continue to work her way through the staying ranks this prep and can sprint well fresh. Her trial on Monday was as good as Watch Me Rock? OBJECTIFY had a 6 week freshen between the Black Heart Bart and her last start behind Elite Missile in a 72+ 1200. Her last win was a 72+ 1400 and she gets a senior rider back on from a favourable draw. BRUCE ALMIGHTY has raced in higher grade his last 11 starts. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – PLATINUM SHOT WIN RACE 2 MANGIFERA was given a 12/10 by Lucy Fiore last start to lob 1/1 from the outside gate but was unable to reel in Forever Dreaming. With a 1kg weight swing, a box seat run and a likely favourable Pinjarra rail this does look a great chance to turn the tables and there’s never much between them in these Westspeed Platinum races. TRUE PLAYER got himself into a bit of an awkward spot in the middle stages last start following a horse that wasn’t travelling and then once balanced in the home straight he ran home well enough into third behind Yougivemechills and Just Leroy. He is two from two undefeated second-up at 1600m and is here looking to extend that streak to three from three. He’ll get back and there’s a chance it will be tough to make ground on Saturday so wary of price vs map. DEFENDING was all the rage last start, $8 into $3.10 and he was luckless. Deserves one. FOREVER DREAMING has turned back the clock and is back in her 4 year old form. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MANGIFERA EACHWAY RACE 3 ROMMELS GODDESS looked the winner throughout last weekend but just couldn’t run down shock winner Birds The Word and had to settle for another runner-up performance. 7 days later she steps to 1400m, draws barrier 1 and is a previous 0MWLY 1400 winner when trained by Neville Parnham. She’s in career best and this isn’t any tougher than a Westspeed on paper. ON PATROL jumped (and travelled) last start for the first time in his entire career? Highly doubt he does that again and more likely goes back to his old ways of settling in the second half of the field, peeling wide on straightening and looks to gun them down in the final strides. KING HIT was good two back and then found 66+ grade a bridge too far. Looking for 1400. MONTE TREMEZZO put in a flat run last start, blinkers should help. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – ROMMELS GODDESS WIN RACE 4 ALL GRUNT didn’t look suited to barrier 1 last weekend. He’s a big striding horse who needs room to move and time to wind-up through his gears and that was never going to happen from three back the fence. He’s now on the 7 day spin, 72+ back to 60+ Graduation and reunites with a returning Jarrad Noske who has guided him to all three wins. The way that he is racing he’s screaming out for 2000 and he can be put into the contest here. AUDIO BOY zigged when he should have zagged last weekend and had his momentum stopped. Wouldn’t have won but could have finished a bit closer. LATE ARRIVAL showed last week that he stays and he’ll be in front for a long way here if Taj Dyson wants to clear them from the wide gate. WAR MATTERS took a long time to win a second race and now he’s suddenly looking for a hattrick. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – ALL GRUNT WIN RACE 5 OISIN sat in the breeze and won a C3 1675 at Bunbury two back, sat one out and one back and finished off into second at 1800m behind Mistress of War last start in a C3 and now drops 2.5kg into a 60+ Graduation without much depth to it. Looks a wonderful chance for him to slide forward, control and dictate terms and then look to pinch it on straightening. Horse goes well ridden like that and Brad Parnham rides those horses better than anyone. SHAZAIR has been building into the prep and looks ready to tackle Saturday company. With a 2kg weight swing on Oisin and a better barrier she should be going close to turning the tables on him. SHAMILIAN MISS will really appreciate the 4kg weight relief. FIVE DOWN could be on the 3-day spin from Belmont on Wednesday. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – OISIN WIN RACE 6 GALWAY SHAWL is now 4 from 5 and looks well and truly above average. So far she’s beaten nothing of note: Dance on Son (MDN), A Lot of Dazzle (MDN), Shamilian Miss (C2), Zippy Zany (C1), Mantua (C3), Play Dice (C2), Desert Life (C1) and Hezangelic (C3) so there’s no doubt that this is a big step up for her but she’s progressive and she’s attacking the line really impressively in her races. SUPERNATURAL ran second to Jaz Session, won the Fitzpatrick Plate and since then has had 2x runs with a 3kg claimer. Shades come straight back off, Pike goes back on and she can bounce back hard. GOLDEN VALE is extremely well placed and has likely targeted this race. Last win was a 66+ 1200 and since then has been 3x 72+ placed. PINGERS has to step up big time and run out 1200m but 51kg helps. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – GALWAY SHAWL EACHWAY RACE 7 THEY’REALLSISTERS is the way that Pike goes after having had the choice of her, Daryte and Maria Lucia. She’s drawn to get a lovely stalking run and can look to follow main danger Maria Lucia every step of the way. Have to admire the way that she grit the teeth and knuckled down over the last 100m to gun down Boy Crush last start after the race looked over. She’s a little trier. MARIA LUCIA trialled well and took full advantage of the 52kg and leader bias conditions of the day on debut. Sean & Jake Casey have been the premier 2-year-old operation over recent years and when you add her to He’s a Maschino, Beatty and Red Lark, they’re in for another ripper year. DARYTE made an impression on debut skipping away to win by an extending 3L margin and then second-up was toppled by Maria Lucia at $1.45, however, there’s a 5kg weight swing in her favour here but that’s now been offset by the shocking barrier. YAMANEX next best hugging the fence line. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 7 – 13 Suggested Bet – THEY’REALLSISTERS WIN Same Race Multi – They’reallsisters (Top 3) + Maria Lucia (Top 3) There have looked to be three main players in the 2026 Magic Millions for about a month now: Daryte, They’reallsisters and Maria Lucia. Post barrier draw, with Daryte drawing out in barrier 16/16 (after scratchings) it looks like They’reallsisters and Maria Lucia will both settle close handy to the speed and get the runs they need to win. Both Top 3. RACE 8 TWISTED STEEL went two from two undefeated as a 2 year old, smashing the clock on both occasions before the bubble burst in the Max Simmonds when going under at $2.20. He bounced back in the Placid Ark Prelude with a minor to Luana Miss before the barrier got the better of him in the Placid Ark. Was fair (at best) fresh when ridden with a sit and then showed second-up that he’s just a better horse ridden to use his high cruising speed. “Let fast horses be fast” – underrated. HEEZA PHOENIX had nothing go right first-up and has been back to trials in between. If he can march across and find a position close handy his class will take him a long way. HUBBLES DRAGON brings alternate form and while it’s inferior form he’s still been winning with arrogance. DON’T WINK has shown previously she can hold her own at this level. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 8 – 16 Suggested Bet – TWISTED STEEL WIN RACE 9 MISS FINKMEYER may have been run down by a talented filly last start in So Si God. She’ll go around with 51kg here, takes advantage of her inside barrier and the updated Holly Nottle / DMac combination for the last 90 days is 26% Strike Rate and 39.7% Profit on Turnover. From her barrier she can lead or she can hand up to Chino La Diva / The Scholar and enjoy the run of the race. QUEEN ARIA was the only horse to make any impression late behind freewheeling leader Best Mood in a C3 at Ascot. Most of these are up in grade and it profiles like a race that could be taken out by a lightly raced newcomer in the second-half of the racebook. If they can make ground she’ll be rattling home late. THE SCHOLAR bolted in his maiden and went down fighting second-up in a C3. He’s returned in excellent order. WRITTEN WORDS drops out of 3 year old company and has shades added. Numbers: 11 – 8 – 9 – 12 Suggested Bet – MISS FINKMEYER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,3,6 7,8,9 1,3,8,12,15,16 8,9,11,12 Market Market
