Scott Embry’s Saturday Narrogin preview Posted on April 8, 2021April 8, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ON RED ALERT is particularly well placed into this 1190m opener on Narrogin Cup Day. First-up last preparation was beaten a nose in a C3 splitting Denim Pack and Island Missile. Coming out of C3/C5/60+ company, proven first-up no trial and drawn a gate to get the gun run. Over to you Sticky Vicky. FOO TROUBLE is a talented front runner resuming. Excellent use of Holly Watson’s 3kg claim and looks the testing material. CRISTAL DANE is going well but concedes the pair a head start. HIGHFRIAR has hit form for Jon Jachmann. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – ON RED ALERT WIN RACE 2 BOYISH was nailed in the shadows this track and distance 29 days ago. Goes up another half kilo but Simone Altieri and Boyish are always a betting proposition at their home ground. Jump, run, kick on the corner. You’ll get a great run for your money. Hoping to see black figures but might be dreaming. REACTION has been in form throughout his 11 start preparation. Just doesn’t win out of turn. DOUBLE EDGED has had a long time off but was a nice enough trial. CHENGDU brings very alternate form but isn’t impossible. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – BOYISH WIN RACE 3 TRADE PRIZE was perfectly placed by Campbell McCallum last Monday into the York country ratings race and this is again the ideal race for him at Narrogin. Had been racing in exclusively tougher races in town on Saturday and midweek meetings. Horse going well, jockey going super and drawn to get a similar run in transit to 5 days ago. RAGING ROCKET comes from the same race and gets a 1.5kg pull in the weights to bring him closer. CATIA can lead and give some cheek. SHESAPOCKET ROCKET is going well for Earl O’Loughlin. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 5 – 7Suggested Bet – TRADE PRIZE WIN RACE 4 JIGGY ON THREE has definitely shown enough at trials to be winning on debut. Most recent trila finished second behind talented filly Miss Livinia which should prove very strong trial ‘form’ for a race like this. Has shown something in every trial and with the gate and shades on gets a big chance on debut. WHOLE LOTTA SHAKIN is a long time maiden but knocking on the door. SEMINYAK was truck loaded at York in a failed plunge attempt. Ran well. MAMMIE not the worst at odds. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – JIGGY ON THREE WIN RACE 5 OUR IDYLL looks the Narrogin Cup winner on paper. She brings metro 72+ form behind That’s Funny Az and even drops 2.5kg taking on the small select field of 6. There are only 2 horses inside the handicap and Mrs Browns Boy is yet to hit his straps this preparation. On weights and measures it’s her race to lose. MRS BROWNS BOY backs up off 7 days and hasn’t seen a race this weak in the last 3 years. Has to go close on class alone. SO SCHMICK ran out of his skin in the Albany Cup and looks on track for the Jericho Cup Qualifier. SAUCY JACK can roll and give them something to catch. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – OUR IDYLL WIN RACE 6 ART ADMIRER won a 2000m C2 at Esperance going back four starts and then finished within a half length of Missalfie and Feels Hot at Barker. The last two efforts he has finished a fair way from the winner but in two very high rating and high speed affairs. On the quick back-up he looks well suited. PRAYING WITH GOD won well on Monday and see no reason why she can’t reproduce here. VICIOUS VILMA always bobs up at a price every now and then. Keep safe. GALIBA is drawn to do no work (or lead) and has no weight. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – ART ADMIRER WIN Quaddie (R3 – R6) 4,61,4,721,2,7 Market Market
