Scott Embry’s Saturday Geraldton Preview Posted on December 13, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MISS DITCHBURN is knocking on the door running well of recent times. Last start went close to running down Rush’n’ Machine and from the gate should get every chance. FRIAR TUCK was only beaten 1.8L in a C2 two starts ago and drops back into maiden company. Big danger. THE LADY MARY has been making gradual ground in grinding maidens. CHARGED FLAME improved sharply last start. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – MISS DITCHBURN WIN Race 2 OUR MATE BOOTS has always promised to win a race and gets the opportunity to find the front and break through at start number 16. Biggest danger has been scratched in Written Law and should go very close. CASUAL TRADE caught the eye first start for Graeme Hammarquist and can improve again. ECHO STAR was strongly supported at her WA debut and should get across. ROBYN’S SON an improver. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – OUR MATE BOOTS WIN Race 3 DYNAMITE JACK has hit form and this race looks more suitable for him than his most recent when backed into favoritism late. Dropping from a 58+ back into a 49+ and drawn gate 1 he should be afforded every opportunity. FORTUNE MAKER sustained a wide run last start and faded. He is only going fairly this preparation. OSIPOVA finally broke through for a deserved maiden win last start and Yuill gives a lead by riding. THE CROWN PRINCE steps up in trip. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – DYNAMITE JACK WIN Race 4 DASHING IMAGE should be about ready third up in the campaign. Draws a gate to box seat in a fairly high pressure race and from there he can break through for his first win of the preparation. RECOILED has been an astute acquisition for the region and there is no reason why he can’t breeze and win. MIKIMOTO GIFT is honest as they come and from the outside spears across with the stablemate. JUPITER RISING is going great guns at the moment and he can obviously win again. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – DASHING IMAGE WIN Race 5 MIDNIGHT ROCKET has 61kg to lump and draws gate 15 but sticking fat with him. He is going through the grades nicely and while this will be his toughest test to date he looks like he can keep progressing and keep improving with racing. COOKING WITH GAS likely gets planed wide the trip but absolutely bolted in last start. The previous maiden effort produced the fastest final 200 section of the meeting and he looks a capable type. LOOKUSOVER is bursting to win a race after doing it tough on genuine tempos the last two starts. KENYLUCK is a big winner at the barrier draw and can sit close handy. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT ROCKET WIN Race 6 FREEDOM BY CHOICE will appreciate not having Big Shot Paddy around to run him down and third up looks primed to win. 1900 is around his pet distance and dropping from a 70+ back into a 63+ is really good placement. Needs an ounce of luck but in form. SADLERS HILLS loomed the winner last start but was unable to reel in Woodman’s Keep. He can sustain a run. BALMONTGOMERY was sectionally the run of the meeting at his most recent. Closing in on a grass victory. WOODMANS KEEP in form and drawn perfectly. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – FREEDOM BY CHOICE WIN Race 7 SKY ATLAS loves it in Geraldton. 4 starts for 3 wins and a second. Comes in first-up, no trial at 1400 with 59kg and drawn wide so is set a serious task but he is definitely classy enough to overcome the obstacles and win this. CAN HE HUSSEL has come back to racing extremely well and is a big danger. TOUCHED has done nothing wrong in two starts in the region. GOLDEN ACRES showed a little improvement last start. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – SKY ATLAS WIN Quad (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4,6 1,6,7,9,11,12 1,2,4,5,10 1,3 Market Market
