Scott Embry’s Saturday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 11, 2022November 11, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 QUILLOW looks to have found a winnable race. Todd Harvey travels her up the Brand Highway to Geraldton and she should be getting across from a wide gate to settle up over the speed and prove a little too strong. The 2kg claim of Luke Campbell and added bonus and she should go close to breaking through. IT’S MY CHOICE resumes off the back of a couple of solid trials. Looks the obvious danger on paper. PERT REMARKS covered a lot of ground in two run back. Barrier 9 doesn’t help at all. AMELIA’S BELIEF can come out running and give a sight. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – QUILLOW WIN RACE 2 BRISANCE was a nice trial behind Enduring Memory before finishing a narrow second behind Leroy The Sepoy when hitting the front half way up the straight and looking home for all money. Only swamped in the last stride and should go one better here. Cassey Martinan jumps on and he drops 3kg in weight. Could well lead this race and if he does he should be too good. CYCLONE PIA finished third in the same race and now has a set of blinkers going on. DANCING JALAPENO caught the eye from off the speed at his second career outing at Ascot. This is easier. WILD SCENES is going alright. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – BRISANCE WIN RACE 3 SAMSURIAN won a C1 1200 at Ascot back in March and two starts later with 59.5kg finished second to Garage Days in a C3 1400m. So far this preparation has had two runs, a C5 1100 when finishing only 1L off the money and then a 0MWLY 60+ 1200 at Ascot when finishing 3.5L off Oly’s Choice. Drops into a Country C2, only rises 1kg and draws a gate to enjoy a gun run. Great placement. JOHNNY ANGEL bounced back last start for new trainer David Dicks. BE SEATED will concede them a head start but will come late. ROCKPORT MISS is an honest mare. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – SAMSURIAN WIN RACE 4 MYSTICAL BABE resumed at 1400m in a C3 behind Stellar Vista (subsequent winner), Aiyza and Vitalize (subsequent winner) and then went to a C5 1600 when finishing off hard from a long way back behind Surveillance. Steps now to a more suitable 1925m and can sustain a run. Like the placement, like the engagement of Luke Campbell and think she’ll be hard to hold out. KAZKAZI returned to the winners circle last start and the booking of Alan Kennedy catches the attention. GRACE DU ROI is getting closer and closer to another win. GALIBA has been a find for Vaughn Sigley. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – MYSTICAL BABE WIN RACE 5 THE SINGING TIGER was held up on multiple occasions at his return when looking like a good thing beat. Many a punter jumped on the bandwagon last start when he went around a well supported even money pop. Still not convinced he won that race (bizarre camera angle) but punters were paid out and see no reason why he won’t be hard to beat again. Gordon Spowart’s yard is flying early doors. SIGNIFICANT HERO is a first-up specialist. Won first-up, no trial off 187 days last preparation and attacks this first-up, no trial off 175 days. Big respect. ROYAL GAP was backed as if unbeatable two starts ago and duly saluted. Back to Gero a key. ELIMINATE was a gun early last season. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – THE SINGING TIGER WIN RACE 6 JUPITER RISING has been racing in grand form so far this season as a 9 year old. He’s showing a zest for racing and holding a position in running which has always been his downfall. With Corn Cob now right up in the weights and drawn a gate to do it tough thinking that the old grey can pinch another one. CORN COB is just an out and out winner. Rises another 1.5kg and has a horror gate to contend with. Nearly time for town. KICK A GOAL SON did it tough last start and kept coming. EDMOND drops a whopping 8.5kg and can measure up in this grade. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 9 – 12 Suggested Bet – JUPITER RISING WIN RACE 7 BOLD STREET won at York on debut when showing a big turn of acceleration to score. Didn’t fire second-up at Northam but it was a day where it was near impossible to make any ground. Third start she went to Geraldton to an 1100m C2 and finished a half head off Edmont and Global Conflict. They both go to higher grade races and she drops back into a C1 and even drops half a kilo after the Taj Dyson claim. Should be too strong late. SURE NO SOMETHING trialled well and won well at his return to racing. Repeats the run and looms as the danger. YES MISS JANE is drawn an awkward gate to navigate. MYSTERY MAN is hard to catch but talented on his day. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – BOLD STREET WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4,5 1,2,3,7 1,6,9,12 1,2,6,8 Market Market
