Scott Embry’s Saturday Esperance Preview Posted on December 13, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 GAME ON DUDE was supported a number of times in the metro area earlier on in his career and then went well at his Esperance debut. Should be going pretty close here. THE VAMPIRE ran his best race of the preparation behind Reaction at Mt Barker and wound up nicely. TUCEPI has had 9 cracks at it but won’t get a much better chance than this. ORASKY next best closing late. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – GAME ON DUDE WIN Race 2 ICE ONE and LUNA ROSSA both have claims to being good things beaten in the same race last start where both were held up at crucial stages of the race. LUNA ROSSA was eye catching when held up until very late in the race and flying late. ICE ONE can probably find the front here and was stiff. STRATUM PASS hit the line well from midfield. SALVARA brings an X-factor to the race for the Duncan-Brown team. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – LUNA ROSSA WIN Race 3 TRUTH AND LIES has really found her feet since joining the Fernie stable. Undefeated at Esperance and it is a track where those who like it build up imposing strike rates. Tougher opposition here but flying and no weight at all. UNIVERSAL MAE is one of those who loves Esperance and can charge late. CLOAK AND DAGGER was in really good form towards the end of the Kalgoorlie season and resumes. FOXY ROYALE almost never finishes out of the placings. Numbers: 8 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRUTH AND LIES WIN Race 4 THE CORNISH comes straight out of maiden grade but looks very progressive and more than capable of stringing a couple together. Should only improve with the extra trip and showed a big turn of foot. MAULDENS MILL is very consistent and should hit the line hard from three wide with cover. ROCKER CHICK gets right back in her races and needs things to go her way. PROZONE is better than what he is showing but hard to follow. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – THE CORNISH WIN Race 5 ALUMINIZE was first-up no trial over 1200 in the Ascot Regional Championship final and was brilliant. Coming from well off them she was rattling late and second-up could even find the front. Hard to beat. RUSSIAN RIVER has been screaming out for 1400m and this is his best chance since arriving in the region. HEAVEN’S GATE was good enough first-up and should improve into the preparation. CARD KNIGHT was below par fresh, improver. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ALUMINIZE WIN Race 6 SHADY GRAY really is hard to tip past after what he showed first-up. He is a fresh horse but if he can hold form here it looks like the 1.5kg weight swings won’t be enough for them to turn the tables. VIKING FORREST was destroyed in fixed odds markets. Ran well and here should do no work up against the paint. BADGE OF COURAGE will sit right over the speed and is in the mix. PENALTY POINT was average last start, but race before was strong. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – SHADY GRAY WIN Race 7 DANCE MINDY DANCE is going to be a very risky proposition for any punter because she hasn’t won in over 1000 days but this race looks right up her alley. Was strong last two starts in Esperance and has no excuse from the gate. SCOTTY TOO HOTTY is not quite the horse he once was but should be right there and comes across from an awkward gate. SIGNIFICANT STREAK has gone very cold for a horse who looked to have ability. TRANSITIONAL gets a wonderful chance to make it two on the bounce coming straight from maiden company. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – DANCE MINDY DANCE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4,9,10 1,2,3,4,5 2 1,3,5,7 Market Market
