Watching the replay she was as good (if not better) than any of them. The only cause for concern is the dreaded barrier 1 at Esperance. RICCO DORO at least brings alternate form having had a month’s freshen. The WA debut run when third to Bondi Bubbles and Ferocious Frost over 1300m was solid. PERT REMARKS hasn’t quite raced at the same level as when he lobbed at Josh Brown’s. STOLEN VALOUR comes from an in form stable and showed something behind Blue Can Talk. Punched the breeze but punctured badly in the home straight. Might be better suited with cover? Repeats the Ebony’s Ace run and goes close. MR MAGIC MAN was 30-1 last start but stepped out to 1600m and savaged the line. Can he reproduce? OAKWOOD continues to be really well supported in betting. She’s going well and from the draw she’ll get every chance again. PASSION FOR WAR might be a long time maiden but is continuing to run well. Drawn barrier 1 but that should be offset by the fact that he tends to kick through and lead his races. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – YAKYAK WIN RACE 3 HOT PUDDIN broke maiden status over a mile three back and then ran second to an in form Hear My Prayer (beating home stablemate and subsequent winner Cousin Nicci) before going on to win a C2 1300 last start. Rises up 1.5kg in weight but is drawn to get the run of the race and the way David Harrison’s are going in Esperance you’d be thinking he’ll go close to making it three from his last four. PRO IS HERE brings Albany form across to Esperance. Jon Jachmann’s travelling team must be respected and he’ll make his own luck out in front. RIBBING has put together three handy runs at odds for Freddo Brown. HABIB got to the line the best he has in a long while last start. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – HOT PUDDIN WIN RACE 4 NORTHERN IVY has been a find for Paul Tapper. Raced around in Kalgoorlie back in October but didn’t really show that much, however, since arriving in Esperance is a completely different horse. Won a C2 1300, a C5 1400, a 70+ 1400 and last start finished third behind Westernize and Hilton when dropping back to 1200. There’s no Westernize, there’s no Hilton and this is 1400m. Looks a great chance for him to win again. I AM SPARTACUS has 60kg and a wide draw but he’s come back to racing well and he’s the class runner in the line-up. FREEDOM SQUARE is first-up and is more than handy on his day. ALBERT knows one way – jump and run. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – NORTHERN IVY WIN RACE 5 COUSIN NICCI is in the form of her life and might be the best chance to beat the stablemate in the flying BONDI BUBBLE who just keeps winning. Won his last four outings and is undefeated at Esperance. Winner of a maiden, 2x C2 and a 58+ and now steps to 1200m and C5 company. ZJP has ridden him well at his last two for victory and the only things against him are another 2.5kg in weight and barrier 1. FIRST LAW hasn’t fired in Albany. Maybe he’ll prefer Esperance. NODUSTONEME can always bob up at odds. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – COUSIN NICCI WIN RACE 6 PURE QUALITY will concede them a big head start but she looks like she’ll be winning races for Fiona Scott. If it’s swopping down the centre that should bring her into the mix. There’s a tonne of speed in this so hopefully she doesn’t get run off her legs early doors. CHIPOLARTIE is first-up for Georgia Grant after a successful preparation in May/June for Ryan Hill in the metro area. Won a 1200m maiden at Belmont Park leading throughout to beat Princess Milli and De La Beaute. She’s quick and she’ll park right up over the speed. 59kg might test? BELLES FANTASY joins Josh Brown and is better than her first four runs suggest. NITRO FRED is jump and run. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – PURE QUALITY WIN RACE 7 WHEATSTACK THIEF is an old favourite who looks like he’s back to somewhere near his best. Probably pulling the trigger a start too early but he showed last start that he’s still got a big turn of acceleration when the races are run to suit him. Keep safe. OLDEN heads down to Esperance and joins Helen Harding. He’s race fit and he’ll sit right over the speed. COUNT GRUNDY showed in Kalgoorlie that he’s more than capable at this level. ACERMETRIC is only having his second start in Esperance. 2000m much more to his liking than 1400m last Friday.
