Scott Embry’s Saturday Dongara Preview Posted on April 1, 2021April 1, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ROBYN’S SON and HOWSIT look likely to clash horns in a speed battle and the victor of the two is likely to take out the first on Dongara Cup/Sprint Day. Siding with ROBYN’S SON who is likely to be the stronger of the two over the last 100m. Knocking on the door all preparation in Geraldton maidens and was responsible for a very strong tempo last start. HOWSIT similarly has promised to pinch one all season. Got crossed last Sunday and that saw the end to her winning chances. MUMSTHEONE has been the target of support in betting a few times since joining Darryn Pateman. MOVENZA an improver. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROBYN’S SON WIN RACE 2 NOT MY FIGHT has gone enormous since joining Tank and Darryn Pateman. Has a horror draw to contend with and unlikely to get conditions to suit but this is excellent placement into this and great use of the Jess Gray claim. Hard to hold out late the way she’s been letting loose late. ROMASKO is normally very competitive in these races and is drawn an ideal gate. SHEZBUTOO can be hard to catch but her best is good enough. MOMENTS OF MAGIC should be suited to Dongara racing. Jump and run. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – NOT MY FIGHT WIN RACE 3 CARMURLEA drops 1.5kg on her last start effort and from the draw should settle right over the top of the speed. These are the kinds of meetings where the Pateman yard really fire and she looks another great chance on the program for their team. TUMUT RIVER was a first-up winner in WA for Sean Rains at Moora and then never fired a shot after. Follows a similar campaign here. DANCE COCKEY should be a great acquisition for Peter Bamford and showed that first start for the new yard when beating Carmurlea at Pingrup. NOBLE TIME has no form at all. But keep safe with the shades on. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – CARMURLEA WIN RACE 4 DASHING IMAGE makes a rare venture away from 70+ and 58+ racing at Geraldton to take on the Dongara brigade. Drops 3.5kg and has bled ratings points for the last 18 months after reaching a career peak of a c76 rater. Backing up off 6 days after running into white hot mare Wildonbrook and finishing a narrow third behind stablemate Midnight Rocket. Looks a great race for him. KENNEDY has really turned a corner since finding a new home. Was a dominant winner at Mingenew by over a length when doing a lot of things wrong and then at Ascot last start was bolting in behind them until getting clear once the race was all over. DANEHILL MATILA is never far from them. HERITAGE SASH drops miles in grade. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – DASHING IMAGE WIN RACE 5 SAKARYA is more than capable of making it a race to race double for Gordon Spowart. Backs up off 6 days from the Geraldton meeting, drops 2kg and has noted front running rider and long-time Country Cups Queen Simone Altieri engaged. Should roll to the top from gate 3 and from there she’s the one they need to run down. PLEAD THE FIFTH looked a certainty in the Mingenew Cup and duly saluted. This is harder but she did win with her eyes closed. HARDINGTON an improver at odds. PELICAN PICK gets the right run. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – SAKARYA WIN RACE 6 RED EPIC is another who backs up from last Sunday’s meeting at Geraldton into the Easter Saturday meet at Dongara. Two starts ago ran third (distant third) behind Wildonbrook. Comes from the same form race as Dashing Image earlier in the meeting and if that form holds true he looks a live chance in the last. SHACKLETON broke a long run of outs last start and can definitely go on with it. MASSA MAC is always a winning chance in races like this and drops a stack in weight from his latest run. REIDY one to consider at odds. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – RED EPIC WIN Quaddie (R3 – R6) 2,3,6 2,6 2,3 1,2,4,5,6,9 Market Market
