Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on June 22, 2018June 22, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FIRE AND RAIN has had bone chips removed since his last start victory and his two trials upon return could not have been more impressive. If he manages to cross he’ll take some serious catching. BRAGGADOCIOS is drawn the inside gate and also has speed so the early battle will be intriguing. All trials have shown him to be well above average. KISS THE BREEZE gets the speed on up front to suit and she was once touted as the best 2 year old in the state. CLASSIC PRO should hit the line from a fair way back. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – FIRE AND RAIN WIN Race 2 SHANIA STYLE has electric speed and will be looking to find the fence ahead of the logical danger and possibly only danger in Disruptive. Sean Casey’s horses grow a leg for Tayla Stone and she should be infront a long way. DISRUPTIVE was backed as if unbeatable first-up down the straight when drawn perfectly against the outside fence and won in a canter. Likely lobs outside Shania Style. ROCKON TOMMY has improved his past two but maps awkwardly. KENTOO could slot in from an awkward draw. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – SHANIA STYLE WIN Race 3 LORENTINIO was brave sitting on top of a solid tempo last start. He only seems to run when he settles close to the speed. Expect him to find the fence and hand up to Greco. Repeat of that effort he goes close. ATLANTA BLUE is drawn a little sticky in gate 9 but was a sharp improver last start when the bar plates came off. Up in trip looks ideal. ALPHA SKY was far from disgraced in a very sharp 3 year old race last start. Is 1 from 1 with Pike in the saddle beating In Love With Paris. ROCK MYLADY was a shade disappointing last start but can be forgiven. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – LORENTINIO EACHWAY Race 4 FABERGINO recorded a career low rating at her most recent and only start at Belmont Park but was far from tested and hard held early in the race which seemed to be to her detriment. Forced to burn early here could well be in her favor. Remains unbeaten for mine. UNDISCLOSED box seats right behind her and gets a lovely tow into the race. AMBIENTE was big first-up without a trial and is another drawn to follow Fabergino up along the fence. SUPER MAXI could be left in the breeze and may struggle to keep up when the grey drops a gear. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – FABERGINO WIN Race 5 MISTY METAL has been toying with rivals in moderate affairs at Northam but looks ideally placed here. She has tactical speed to put herself right in the firing line and can continue on her merry way. ZEINITE was big sitting three deep the trip in a strong run race last start. There is actually far less speed in this race. Could even cross. SPEEDING COMET is a big chance from leader’s back, but if he ends up three back the fence could be in trouble. DENIM PACK is going great guns without winning. Numbers: 7 – 14 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MISTY METAL WIN Race 6 LIKE A BUTTERFLY was sent back from an outside gate fresh at 1400m. She looks better suited up to a mile and could even roll forwards and position up outside the lead. MIZLECKI has been huge in defeat against the older horses her last two starts and most importantly gets regular rider Jerry Noske back aboard. ROGANELLA was very impressive last start, interesting to see where he ends up in the run. NECKLET was backed as if unbeatable and was plain. Can bounce back hard. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – LIKE A BUTTERFLY EACHWAY Race 7 REBEL KING should jump into a position outside Durendal and then likely hands up to something coming across from the outside. No matter how this race is run it’s hard to see him not enjoying the run of the race. First-up last preparation knocked off Battle Hero. That’s brilliant form. DURENDAL is ultra consistent and if he gets the soft run behind It’s It that most expect he’ll be in the finish again. PROFIT STREET was below far first-up but should again get to the outside and wind up. PRETENTIOUS CHANT was arguably the run of the race in the Beaufine. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – REBEL KING WIN Race 8 GREAT AGAIN only beat very moderate opposition first-up at Northam but has always shown a lot of promise. Slides forward from the outside gate and likely ends up outside the lead. From there Smith controls. EASEWOLD was a brilliant trial, disappointing fresh run and then big winner second-up. Can go on with it. TELLEM WE’RE COMIN has blinkers re-added and will be winding up hard late off a soft run midfield. GUNNAGO is the class runner but probably going a shade under his best at present. Numbers: 13 – 15 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – GREAT AGAIN WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,7,14 2,7,8,9 1,2,4 11,13,15 Bet Now
