Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on June 15, 2018June 15, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SPECIAL REWARD went around at prohibitive odds on debut and made them look silly. Likely to go around short again and bumps into a much more talented rival, however they are likely to be a similar price so I will side with Miller. KELLY’S CALLISTO looked above average first-up this preparation when making solid ground behind Black Sabbath and then saluted at his next start. Can take up a prominent position here against another talented Miller juvenile. REGAL COUNSEL has put together two equally impressive runs behind Market Ruler this preparation. TO RISE AGAIN was brave on debut, wide throughout. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL REWARD WIN Race 2 DYNAMITE DREAM was just over 2 months between runs taking on the older horses when she was dropped off at the top of the straight. Fought on well and finished right alongside some talented types. This is easier and she should get the run of the race. PEARL TRADE put in an eye catcher fresh behind boom filly Fabergino. Likely to have a lot of supporters. ANOTHER DEMON smashed the clock on a leader dominated day at Northam. Can bounce straight to the top again. THUNDERSTRUT trialed enormous and then ran accordingly first-up. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – DYNAMITE DREAM WIN SuperPick - Race 2 No. 1 Dynamite Dream - Money Back Race 3 SEND MY LOVE was impressive first-up from a spell and in a race devoid of natural speed beyond He’s A Parker she can take full advantage of the gate. Step up to a mile looks to suit. CAMPAIGN likely settles well off the leading brigade but his NSW form reads up well for a moderate 3 year old contest like this. SONG OF VINCENT has probably gone a bit better than both his last two runs read on paper. Can settle midfield and give a sight. GIFTED WARRIOR was arguably a good thing beat last start when flashing late but gets back again. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – SEND MY LOVE EACHWAY Race 4 ENTICING STAR is going from strength to strength and can’t wait to see her return in the summer for a tilt at some of the bigger races. She is a star. Only thing that stops here is bad luck and 59kg. GET THE VIBE should bounce straight on the lead from the gate and is the logical danger. MAX ALMIGHTY is going great guns but keeps running into one or two better. STAR GLITTER could improve from the draw. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – WATCH ENTICING STAR WIN Race 5 RED ARMY has always promised a lot and really looks like he is starting to put it all together. Was never a winning chance first-up behind a slow speed on a leader bias track and then dominated over the mile at Northam. MY GRACE is a honest and consistent type. She should be in the finish after sprinting well fresh. BELLA’S IDOL was enormous first-up and then far from disgraced last start, could sneak under the radar. MRS BROWNS BOY leads or sits on top of the speed and should be there abouts. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – RED ARMY WIN Race 6 GREAT SHOT was forced to do a fair bit of work outside the speedy Battle Hero last start and was a sitting duck to be run down by Material Man. Capable of turning the tables here. MATERIAL MAN has only lead them up at this distance range once in recent times and was very plain. Will be an intriguing first few hundred meters to see what Lucy Warwick’s game plan is from barrier 1. POUNAMU will improve at every start and as the distances increase. PUSHIN’ SHAPES will be looking for the softest possible run and could bob up into a drum. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – GREAT SHOT WIN Race 7 ELEGANT BLAST was caught up in traffic last start when her biggest rival Come Play with Me was off and gone. She never got a chance to wind up and with regular rider Lucy Warwick back in the saddle can go closer. COME PLAY WITH ME is the logical winner of this race but will have Elegant Blast right on his back this time round. JAZARI actually maps well for a horse who is drawn such a horror gate. He can improve sharply at odds. OUTLAW PETE was eye catching (again) last start and finally draws a gate. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 11 – 10 Suggested Bet – ELEGANT BLAST EACHWAY Race 8 FINAL SALUTE returns to his original stable and was a first-up winner last preparation at 1300m. He has looked good at trials and should be winding up three deep into the corner. ONE SHORT is drawn awkwardly but if he can bounce the gates and position up outside the leader he can go close. TOUCH OF SILVER is a very good horse when tuned up. He could be in a fair bit of traffic from the gate however. BY DECREE was held up the entire length of the straight last weekend, forgive. Numbers: 6 – 14 – 3 – 15 Suggested Bet – FINAL SALUTE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 6 1,2,3 2,6,7,10,11 3,6,14 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2018-06-16/pr” linkrel=””]
