Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on June 7, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BARON BOSTOCK looks as though he will handle the wet conditions and both trials have been as equally impressive. Showed versatility and if the favorite has any chink in her armor could be the testing material. MARKET RULER will rule the market and be heavily in the red. Should give them a galloping exhibition but will run at Winx odds. REGAL COUSEL was eye catching from back in the field last start and gets a 3.5kg swing on the favourite. ESSENTIAL SPICE has ability but is still very green. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – BARON BOSTOCK WIN Race 2 HARD OF HEART was only fair first-up but an important gear change is made and he can box seat in behind a hot speed from the gun alley. Giving him another chance. UNDISCLOSED has had two runs down the Pinjarra straight for a combined 9L winning margin. She has to bring that form back to Belmont Park. ZEINITE is a wet tracker and can give a kick into the straight at odds. REGAL MOON backs up from Monday and could be better suited back to the sprint. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – HARD OF HEART WIN Race 3 GALAXY STAR was a barnstorming winner on a showery Soft7 one day at Belmont Park. Looks like she will eat up the trip but backing horses at their first start over a journey, especially when they get back can be a risky business. MASTER MAGICIAN obviously has a fair few feet related issues but he should get a lovely run on top of the speed. MISSILE LAUNCH much like Galaxy Star is well above average, going from strength to strength but first attempt at the trip. Expect him to march wide a fair way from home. SHINTA MANI can settle a lot closer to the speed and be in the finish. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MASTER MAGICIAN PLACE Race 4 BY DECREE is an out and out wet track specialist. Her first-up run over an unsuitable trip was excellent and from the gate she should lob into the box seat. If it continues to rain and horses roll off the fence she will cut the corner and shoot up the fence. MIZLECKI was enormous last start, flooding home from last. She does look like settling back there again here. PUSHIN’ SHAPES has put together three good runs this preparation and it looks a matter of time before he salutes again. FRIARESQUE was handy first-up and improves from the draw. Numbers: 11 – 5 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – BY DECREE EACHWAY Race 5 ART SERIES has the dreaded bar plates put on her fronts but her effort over 1200 fresh against older horses was excellent. Only need to re-watch her run in the Burgess Queen and Champion Fillies to be sold on her winning chances. NECKET has never seen a rain affected track and is drawn in gate 1 which can always prove to be a curse, especially to 3kg claiming apprentices, however, she proved last start she is all class and her backers put faith in Brodie Kirby to get clear. LIKE A BUTTERFLY was simply awesome in the Oaks and Derby. Can sprint well fresh. PADDY’S SHADOW was stiff not to win first-up but is drawn awkwardly here. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 8 – 13 Suggested Bet – ART SERIES EACHWAY Race 6 PROFIT STREET is dynamite fresh, is dynamite for William Pike, is dynamite at 1000m, is dynamite at Belmont Park, is drawn a soft alley, has blinkers added and trialed well for his return. Impossible not to like him. DURENDAL is still looking for his first WA win, hard to believe with a horse who has been so consistent in top company ever since he arrived. MR MOTOWN can tow-ball likely leader It’s It and give a sight. IT’S IT back to 1000 is key to his chances. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – PROFIT STREET WIN Race 7 AWAKEN is yet another top class ride for Brodie Kirby. The query is just how forward she is after a long injury enforced lay off but her trials have been sound and she maps to get a beautiful run in transit. ROCK MYLADY is a noted wet tracker, has blinkers added and certainly lost no admirers in the Sky Racing Final when sizzling home along the fence. GRECO went very well last start and could sneak under the radar. TRAKIATO is a real up and coming type. As the Pearce crew would say, “traking nicely towards the Guineas” Numbers: 2 – 9 – 11 – 15 Suggested Bet – AWAKEN WIN SuperPick - Race 7 No. 2 Awaken - Money Back Race 8 STAGEMAN stands out in the final event. Lightly raced 3 year old who seems to improve at every run. Steps up to 1200m which shouldn’t be an issue. Drawn a gate and possesses tactical speed in a race where many are struggling for form. RIVER DANCE looks destined to run another gallant second to one of Bob Peters horses on the rise. Hard to see anything turning the tables from him on his last run. GIGANTE carries the grand stand but this is his easiest race in years. DIABLERIE could be an improver at odds. Numbers: 13 – 2 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – STAGEMAN WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,4,7,8,11,13 1,2 1,2,9,11,15 2,13 Bet Now
