Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on May 31, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FABERGINO should be winning this with a leg in the air. So far we are yet to see a 3 year old capable of matching her cruising speed. She should again drop them coming for home. CLASSIC CHANT is a speedster who would logically find the front and hand-up to the favourite for a tow ball run. TRULY BELONG is going better than reads on paper, simply being run off her feet. SALUBRIOUS was far from impressive at his Durrant debut, better than that. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC CHANT PLACE Race 2 WORTH SQUARE was eye catching on debut when getting back in the run. If he can settle closer along the inside he can win at career start number 2. SHAPITA was able to position outside the lead in a moderately run race on debut and get the chocolates. This is not a lot tougher. KELLY’S CALLISTO really caught the eye from back in the field first-up and in theory appreciates the longer Belmont straight. FINGERMARK puts himself into the perfect spot and the shades could give him a bit more. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – WORTH SQUARE EACHWAY Race 3 ELEGANT BLAST takes on very moderate opposition. She will settle back in the run but so will the logical danger in the race. Very winnable for her. COME PLAY WITH ME was extremely stiff not to salute last start when heavily supported and never saw day light. Pike will ensure he gets to the outside. He is the testing material. JAZARI should enjoy the gun run just behind the lead and has been warming up nicely over shorter course races in tougher. MUSICAL ART has just tapered off a little since carrying the big weights. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ELEGANT BLAST WIN SuperPick - Race 3 No. 2 Elegant Blast - Money Back Race 4 DENIM PACK was drawn woefully last start and put up a very encouraging performance. Takes on many of the same gallopers here and gets a much more suitable draw. RUBIA MISS also drew the river that day and now is drawn to find the fence. COUNT TOMOZ OFF was big from back in the field behind a ridiculously slow tempo. SARISKA takes on her toughest opposition yet but has been belting battlers and looking stylish in doing so. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 9 – 12 Suggested Bet – DENIM PACK EACHWAY Race 5 RHI’S ROCKET was in very good form last preparation and was tuned up for this with a brilliant trial behind Material Man. From the gate he should be stalking likely leader Super Maxi and can go bang first-up. SUPER MAXI was certainly not tested in his recent trial. Looks to have immense gate speed so logically bounces straight to the top. I AM INCREDIBLE can follow those two into the race along the fence and fill a hole. SPEEDING COMET is destined to sit deep but is going well. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – RHI’S ROCKET WIN Race 6 ENTICING STAR has been running sections which have to be broken down to believe. She is the real deal and as long as she handles the 7 day back-up should make them look silly (again). IN LOVE WITH PARIS drops massively in weight and is drawn to lead this field. Can lead for a fair way into the straight. MAX ALMIGHTY will be looking to weave a passage through traffic off a soft run. GUNNAGO is drawn very awkwardly again and is not showing much gate speed. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – ENTICING STAR WIN Race 7 MATERIAL MAN has shown at trials that he is ready to go first-up. Has been travelling incredibly well over the 950m circuit at Lark Hill and maps to slot in right behind the speed. Like his first-up chances. BATTLE HERO was no match for stable mate Rock Magic but was very gallant in defeat. Expect him to fire straight to the top. POUNAMU concedes the entire field a start, that is always the concern with him. GREAT SHOT is not a 1200m horse so forgive his first-up run. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – MATERIAL MAN WIN Race 8 KEEPER’S SON was scratched last start in a 72+ after becoming cast in the gates. Returns to a 62+ fresh and the wide draw is not overly concerning because he has the natural speed to slide across and find a spot. GOLGOTHA is drawn awkwardly, been a while since they have used his gate speed and could get trapped deep. MIDNIGHT SKY steps up in class but has looked good at the midweeks beating moderate opposition. MRS BROWNS BOY gets another lovely run and can make it two on the bounce. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 13 – 4 Suggested Bet – KEEPER’S SON EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 4,5 8 1,3,4 1,2,4,13 Bet Now
