Scott Embry’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 24, 2020December 24, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ONE FOR THE ROAD has run two really good races and two moderate races so far in his short career. Like any Adam Durrant horse the extra trip is a positive and from the gate CJP should have him close handy to the speed. Looks the one and for those looking for a cheeky stat Adam Durrant’s highest winning strike rate is fifth up in the preparation. BLACK MELODY looked under severe sufferance at various stages last start but kept coming to the line under pressure. Looks extremely one paced but capable of winning one of these staying maidens. THE ROAN RANGER doesn’t know how to run a bad race but doesn’t know how to win. ICARIAN looks like she will keep whacking away. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – ONE FOR THE ROAD WIN RACE 2 FREE SOLO was particularly impressive at trials and then never looked comfortable on debut in a race which was dominated up top by a tear away leader in Dash Doll. Prize Nemesis will give a sight into the strength of the form on Saturday and Free Solo looks like he’ll make the grade. PURE DEVOTION looks a nice filly in the making. Always exciting this time of year when Uncle Bob is wheeling out what could be future stars. LUNAR IMPACT returns to the races after two solid performances as a juvenile. Ran fourth on debut behind Dunbar, Nobelity and The Spruiker before running into Dad’s Bigheaded, Sunset Cruise and Kallaroo. Hard to gauge the recent trial beaten 10L but the race form is there. SNOWPIERCER hit the line well from a long way off them on debut in the same race as Free Solo. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – FREE SOLO EACHWAY RACE 3 OCEANZARA looks capable of giving Kirsten Melis her first winner as a trainer. Resumed against far more credentialled opposition in a C1 when finishing within 2L of Fair Justice, Nuhad and Speed Dream. Back into maiden company gets her chance. RELIABLE STAR looks like she’ll need every inch of 1300m and might end up a fair way back in this field. Has showed good closing speed at trials but looks a miler. ROSSO TEMPESTA was a far better trial this preparation to anything he produced as a 3 year old. Penny may have dropped. PRIZE PURSUIT looks like he’ll win his fair share of races. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – OCEANZARA EACHWAY RACE 4 CARLTON CASTLE has a stack of raw and natural ability but had a bad habit of missing away last preparation and then finding unnecessary traffic. If Bruce Watkins has been able to iron out some of those issues then this looks a really nice assignment for him at 1200 first-up. LUCKY HEART returned to racing well and from the draw Kyra Yuill should give him the run of the race. GIBRALTAR DANCER was a late scratching Wednesday and saves for this. SO SWAY is double nominated for Sunday Gero and Monday Pinny. Either race he should go well. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – CARLTON CASTLE WIN RACE 5 TIMELY OUTBURST makes her debut and looks to have a stack of ability. Sat in the breeze in a recent trial and then let down powerfully when accelerating away from Prize Pursuit who looks a handy type himself. Looked professional at trials and that’s important for a 1000m straight race. AGENT KENSINGTON promised to win a race throughout her Belmont winter campaign. Resumes first-up here at 1000m but as a 3 year old filly in a set weights maiden she gets in with a luxurious 54.5kg. Can finally break through. PRO IS HERE is the way that Shaun McGruddy decides to ride and looks to have speed. PINBALL PLAYER has blinkers on and Chris Parnham on. Both bit positives and both catch the eye. Numbers: 12 – 9 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – TIMELY OUTBURST WIN RACE 6 MISCHIEVIOUS DIVA is a work in progress, still very new and green but once the penny drops she looks like she’ll make a Saturday filly. Step to 1400m is in her favour, just needs an ounce of luck to get in from the tricky draw. If she does she’s the one to beat. POWERFUL FORCE didn’t get into the race at all on debut. Worth forgiving and remembering that he did go round at $1.80. SURF POINT was a better run first-up than it reads on paper. Keep safe at a price. MAIN ENGINE is a powerful looking filly and looks like she’ll get out over ground. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – MISCHIEVOUS DIVA WIN RACE 7 DASH DOLL was set alight on debut by Chris Parnham and scored an emphatic victory. There will be plenty of knockers considering how difficult it has been to make ground at Bunbury all season but she should again jump and run and give them all something to chase. GUNMETAL GREY was a big debut winner when tramping three deep the trip. Senior rider Paul Harvey jumps on, draws a gate and looks the big danger. IZZY MAY hasn’t been seen at the races for 324 days but some of her earlier form is strong. REGUARDLESS is better suited back into an open age C1. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – DASH DOLL WIN RACE 8 OLGA LOUISA is a high-speed mare and with the claim of Madi Derrick she looks well suited in this grade. Beat home all bar Leica Jaguar and Tinto Belle last start. That form looks particularly strong for a race like this. Jump, find the outside fence and run. COCKYJOY was truck-loaded in betting last Sunday at Bunbury and ended up in an awkward position. Ran a really nice race all things considered and on the quick back-up she looks the danger drawn on the ‘right’ side of the Pinny straight. FIRE MAKER will be looking for further but can play a part without surprising. RAPISARDA has had his fair share of issues over the time and has pads added which is always a red flag. Recent trial good and overall form strong. If Matt Young turns up to the track in a Pinjarra Tigers polo it might be worth following the money. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – OLGA LOUISA WIN RACE 9 BEAT THE BRO gets one final chance. Nosed out at Ascot by Dark Mission, nosed out at Bunbury by Goku and now backs up, drops 2kg, draws a gate and gets another wonderful opportunity to break through. This is the acid test. Is he genuine or not? BORN TO TRY comes from a hot form reference race and is rarely far from the winner. She looks like she can go through the grades this prep. CLASSY MACRO gave a real sight last start and with the senior rider back on looks capable of playing a big part in the finish. BEFFUNJAR is well suited to this grade and from the draw she should get every chance. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – BEAT THE BRO WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,5,9,10 2,6 2,3,4,5,7,8,9,15,16 3,4,5,7,8,10 Market Market
