Scott Embry’s Friday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 24, 2025December 24, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 A SUMMER FLING was sent out an easing $2.70 favourite on debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY when beaten nearly a length by impressive undefeated filly Like Clockwork. Drops into a maiden, drops 2kg and should only be improved for the experience and the outing. Expect she gets pretty short in betting. MY DANNY BOY was just over 1L behind A Summer Fling in their 950m trial and then beat home other key rival Partay in his second trial leading into his debut. PARTAY has had plenty of trials across multiple preparations and now gets to the races. Looks like he’ll continue to improve with age and might find the filly a bit sharp on debut. CAWARRA has disappointed after a nice trial leading into her return. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – A SUMMER FLING WIN RACE 2 REMINISCENCE was getting home powerfully in his recent trial behind Pariah’s Thanks and while there’s a query on the horses who finished just in front of him it was impressive to see him hitting top gear late and running right through the line. Hopefully can hold a spot on debut from a favourable draw and go close. Started his career in NSW and headed to Perth without a race day appearance. BANNERED was all the rage last start and then didn’t offer much in the home straight. Think at this stage of his career he’s better with clear air and galloping room like he was first-up when splitting Don’t Wink and subsequent winner Western Ace. MASCHINO MOON hasn’t raced for over 12 months but did make an encouraging start to her career. LAST SHOUT had excuses at Bunbury upon return. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 13 – 2 Suggested Bet – REMINISCENCE WIN RACE 3 XELCIMUS has been a hard watch (and an even harder ride) at her runs this campaign but she’s absolutely bursting to win a race. Will barrier 1 be a blessing or a curse for the mare and Keshaw Dhurun? You’ll have to wait until the Poms are 8 down at Tea on Boxing Day to find out. Has been enormous when wide and working in all four this prep and deserves to win one. THE ROCKET came charging home first-up and given he’s so lightly raced he’s the more trustworthy of the two main chances in betting. Expect they’ll fight it out between themselves. PEMBETON loomed over 1800m but couldn’t run out the trip. Back in distance a plus. TORA BORA found her race last start, this is 5L tougher Numbers: 8 – 6 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – XELCIMUS WIN RACE 4 ANGEL UNDERCOVER looks ideally placed in this small field $100,000 feature. She’s 1kg off the minimum, she’s drawn to let the speed go and then track up behind Sky Duke / Boots Like Bruce and she has claims on the best turn of foot in the race. On paper this looks an ideal set up for her. WUBIN GOLD ran extremely well second-up against the pattern under a big weight. It may have been the first time in her life that she was defeated second-up but she lost no admirers. Back to her best. TRIPLE JAY is the class runner and trialled well enough (certainly better than last prep) so hopefully he’s able to bounce back after one poor campaign where he clearly wasn’t 100%. SKY DUKE is a query at the end of 1300. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – ANGEL UNDERCOVER WIN RACE 5 SMART SHADOW has returned in good order and might just be able to give some cheek here at double figures. Resumed without a trial at Ascot over 1000m and was held up the majoriy of the home straight and then wasn’t on her best behaviour at Narrogin when second to Rommel’s Goddess. Out to 1600m suits and in a Pay 1-2-3 she can certainly finish in the money without surprising. TOUSLED CROWN was kept really safe in betting third-up and ran an honest fourth behind My Harv. She’s rock hard fit and should have no excuses here. Right timing for her. GINGER AND TONIC got pushed off the track on the corner and lost her way a bit late. ACES TO WIN was the target of good money last start. Watch. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – SMART SHADOW EACHWAY RACE 6 EXTREME LOVE has had five starts for Mitchell Pateman and they’ve all been excellent, and many of them without luck. More recently she has finished a nose behind Summer’s Legacy in a 0MWLY 1800 and then gone a month between runs into a 60+ Graduation when forced to go for home on straightening before being gunned down late. She’s flying and this looks winnable for her. OUR NEMESIS swept past them at the 600 under 60.5kg and looked home for all money before the shadow of Classic Rogue started to loom large and in the end put him away comfortably. Right time to claim. FIFTH ESSENCE can come on quickly second-up. NO PEER has returned in handy order. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – EXTREME LOVE WIN RACE 7 IMPRESSIVE JEWEL was put into the race first-up and held off soft subsequent winner Belta Of A Song, second-up was only beaten narrowly in a C3 1400 at the hands of Itzabeast and then third-up was thrown into the deep end into the Starstruck Classic when beaten 4.5L by Storyville, Secret Attraction, Lunvwar, Machine Gun Gracie, Madame Magic, Noteworthy and Bonjoy – mares who would eat these for breakfast. Back to a C3, back to 1400m. Tick, Tick. APPARATUS was last seen on 28 October at Swan Hill and has had a trial in between. Always a watch at their WA debut for Team Bairstow. MUDDY WATERS is loving life for his new trainer and after back to back wins has had no luck. TRESPASSING has been in great form this prep so far. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – IMPRESSIVE JEWEL WIN RACE 8 PRINCESS IN RED was $4.60 into $2.70 last start in the final 30 minutes of betting in a seriously spirited betting move, especially when you consider she was being ridden by a 3kg claiming apprentice. The run was huge in defeat and now she draws a barrier with a senior rider aboard. The Hey Pino race is turning out to be white hot and she was big in that too when wide throughout. RUN PATTIE RUN can show a big L600 on her day and Raquel Williams couldn’t have her team going any better at the minute. MA MA BELLE caused a boilover last start beating Hurricane Harley and if she reproduces can absolutely win again. OFFSHORE trialled really well and didn’t let her supporters down first-up. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 9 – 11 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS IN RED WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,5 1,4 1,2,3,4,6,7,9,13 3,5 Market Market
