Scott Embry’s Friday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 22, 2025April 22, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 KERMELIA ran fourth first-up behind Fayola Baby and subsequent winners Polyvanova and Aces To Win and finished more than 1L in front of Reel Serenity who has also since saluted the judge. Second-up ran into progressive 3 year old Smart Energy when the only horse to make any inroads into the margin and then third-up was held up at crucial stages. Out to a staying trip, shades on – now is the time. NEAP TIDE is really (really) one paced. He looks like he could use another lap to get warm. DECLARED INNOCENT needs the kitchen sink thrown at him but he’ll keep whacking away. AGE OF GRACE was given every mortal by Pike last start and gave naught. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – KERMELIA WIN RACE 2 ACROSS GENERATIONS is a nice horse. He’s a 5 start maiden but at one stage there was a thought that he might be able to make it into a WA Guineas horse. Raced throughout his career to date as a Colt, returns as a Gelding and his barrier trial (without blinkers) suggested he would be very hard to beat at his return to racing. Think he’s got a lot of upside. SOCIAL AFFAIR has put in two really nice runs so far. Loomed the winner last start and was only run down late by a nice filly. ROYAL TALK was all the talk on debut when $12 into $3.10. Things didn’t go to plan for her. LONGWAY TO THE TOP is the half brother to stable star The Boss Lady. Looks like he’ll need time though. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 12 – 6 Suggested Bet – ACROSS GENERATIONS WIN RACE 3 FAST HARRY trialled like a horse who would be winning on debut and unfortunately couldn’t quite get the job done when beaten a short half head. Immediately tipped out and spell and has again trialled well enough to suggest that even from the terrible draw he’s the one to beat. Biggest concern is that at the most recent Scarpside meeting they made absolutely no ground. ROCKING IN VEGAS was a nice trial and a handy debut. CANTRIX has shown enough across a few trials now to be a watch on debut. MAGGIE JEAN is E1 but her trial behind Fast Harry and her race form through the Max Simmonds and a 3 year old 0MWLY have to be respected. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 11 – 13 Suggested Bet – FAST HARRY WIN RACE 4 ADMIRE THE GIRL picks herself. She went around in the Magna’s Choice race on debut (Ripper Farooq, Haida Gwaii, Exceed The Planet) where they stopped the clock 12L faster than maiden average in the highest rating maiden that Northam has seen in the last 5 years. Her trial was elite – she’s good. ELVIRA STAR ran third behind Countess Of Kenna and Lucky I Am on debut down the straight and is drawn the ‘right’ side. THE AGENCY ran second to the then undefeated Yorga Pride first-up last prep. ROYAL DEFENSE held on well into fourth behind speedy fillies Haida Gwaii and Lucky I Am in what is expected to be a solid form reference race. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ADMIRE THE GIRL WIN RACE 5 CHOP SUEY was attacking the line behind Famous Dream and just left her run too late and too close to the inside to get past late. This is very winnable if she can keep in touch early and get herself towards that outside rail. MASAMUNE is well placed. He’s first-up down the straight from a trial behind impressive fresh winner Prospector’s Pick and he was last seen 335 days ago when only 3L off Generosity and The Boss Lady. They’re both now in the $5,000,000 Quokka and he’s in a $30,000 C3. MISTER RAFFLES is an unknown. Will straight racing be perfect for him? Or will it be the most ugly watch of all time? MAGIC BELLE does her best work down the straight. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – CHOP SUEY WIN RACE 6 PATRON EXPRESS broke his maiden at Northam and then was thrown into the deep end. He ran fourth behind September Born, Olympic Park and Exceed The Planet in the Fairetha Stakes and then was less than 3.5L off them in the WA Guineas. He’s resuming in a C1 with Shades on. Short of his best trip but classy 4 year old. COUNTESS OF KENNA won well first-up down the straight and Hayden Ballantyne calls on the services of William Pike here. MAGNIFERA won like a filly who would put a few together this prep. ZIPPY ZANY has shown ability from time to time too. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – PATRON EXPRESS WIN RACE 7 AUDIO BOY couldn’t have been any better at his first-up and second-up runs. He’s clearly come back bigger and stronger this time around and has put the writing on the wall heading into the Diggers Cup. Think the mare that beat him last start is a real emerging talent (Be Bardot) and happy to follow that form. COVERT ROSE meets him 3.5kg better at the weights and only finished half a length behind him. Great use of the Coops Claim. FAMOUS DAIN let rip with a great turn of foot to score here 9 days ago. IDYLLIC RULER must step from barrier 1 – if he gets crossed it becomes 10x harder for him to win. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – AUDIO BOY WIN RACE 8 ASTRO WORLD was the ‘be on me next start’ run at her Michael Grantham debut. Nothing made any ground at that meeting (naturally a concern/watch for Friday) and she lobbed out the back last in a slowly run 1200. Savaged the line from an impossible position and gets straight out to 1600m. SIR DUSKIN has been in 66+ company at his last two outings. 3L off Siberian Siren and even 6.5L off Angel Undercover is still excellent form for a C1 mile. He’ll be a Saturday horse eventually. TOUSLED CROWN held her own in a pretty deep C1 coming out of maiden grade. SKY GOD is ready to win and drops in grade/weight. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 10 – 6 Suggested Bet – ASTRO WORLD WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,4,5 1,5,7 1,2,3,6 1,9,10 Market Market
